"How are you still alive Slade? I saw you die." Green Arrow snarled at his former friend.

"And I could say the same thing about you kid. We both saw each other die on that godforsaken ship, the Heaven's Eye. So many memories were made on that ship. Courtesy of Professor Hugo Strange. He always was an odd bird wasn't he? But then again, it's him I owe for my survival. Well, him and you. After all, you may have been the one who gave me the Mirakuru, but he's the one who told us about it." Slade said casually as he crossed his sword over Moira's face without cutting it, just enough to taunt them both.

"If I'd known what would happen, I never would've done it. It would've been kinder to let you die back then as a good man, rather than live as the monster you've become." Green Arrow said.

"Perhaps, but now, now I can finally get my revenge on you for Shado." Slade said.

"That wasn't my fault. Strange was going to kill her regardless of anything else. She was the biggest threat, since I was untrained and you were already considered dead." Green Arrow reminded him.

"Bullshit. You were a soldier, you could've done something. You should've died that day, not her." Slade insisted.

"You think I don't know that. I think about that moment all the time. How I could've changed things, but at the end of the day, I can't change what happened to Shado or to you. But unlike you, though I'm not sure if it was because of the Mirakuru or if you were always this delusional, I've come to accept that it happened because in the end, Shado was the one who made the choice to sacrifice herself. But are you really upset about her death, or is it something else entirely?" Green Arrow asked, trying to stall for time.

"What are you talking about?" Slade demanded.

"I know how you felt about her Slade." Green Arrow said.

"And yet you stole her from me. If I'd killed you when we first met, she'd be mine." Slade said.

"You're forgetting that even though she chose me, I never let her act on it. Not when my heart belonged to someone else. I was never an obstacle in your way. You just never had the guts to tell her how you felt. That's what this really is." Green Arrow told him and to his surprise, Slade did remove his sword from Moira's throat.

"Thank you for that reminder kid. That there's someone I can use to hurt you even more than your mother could. Your precious Laurel Lance. Or maybe I'll go after your daughter instead. See what kind of pain that causes you." Slade said, now taunting him, only to have an arrow plant itself in his arm.

"And that goes both ways. I wonder how your son Joe would feel about what you're doing?" Green Arrow reminded him.

"Joe's a grown man who's used to this kind of life, since he followed in my footsteps and joined ASIS. You'd never find him. But I know where to find your daughter." Slade said as the arrow in his arm suddenly exploded, sending Slade flying back, though his armor took the brunt of the blast and his mirakuru healing repaired what damage the blast did to his arm.

"Mention her again and I'll tear your other eye out just long enough to watch me put an arrow in your heart and not take it out until I'm sure you're dead this time." Green Arrow snarled and Slade smirked.

"There's the monster I remember. You may act like you've changed since back in those days, that you're a hero, but you're still the killer I trained." Slade said as he put his helmet back on.

"You're right, I am a killer when I need to be to survive, but I'm more than that now. You can't get in my head easily anymore Slade. My days of being afraid of you ended when I fought an army of Atlanteans. And I have changed. You may have taught me a lot, but you didn't teach me everything I know." Green Arrow said, right as the building shook. At first he thought it was from the earthquake devices going off.

"Please tell me it's not an earthquake shaking the building right now." Green Arrow asked Luke over the comms.

"Negative. Spartan and Katana disarmed both devices about 2 minutes ago. If I had to guess, the shaking is coming from the magic battle going on. I'd suggest getting to your mom and then having Eclipse give you all a quick exit." Luke said.

"Did you copy that Eclipse?" Green Arrow asked, right as there was a flash of light and Eclipse was standing there.

"Not sure how long my double will fool Arcane, so let's bail." Eclipse said as they rushed to Moira's side and she used her staff to trigger a teleportation spell to send them back to the barracks.

Just because I know someone will say something, I'm aware that the scientist Oliver met on Lian Yu was Anthony Ivo and the ship was called the Amazo, but since I feel like both of those were poorly used in the Arrowverse and I'm trying to stick to a more comic accurate version for them. So Hugo Strange was a substitute. Hope you understand and if not, too bad. I hope you enjoyed the chapter though and I promise a more satisfying battle between Green Arrow and Deathstroke will appear soon.
