Amanda Waller was currently in her office at Argus HQ when Sara entered.

"Agent Lance, what can I do for you?" Waller asked, only to be surprised when several federal agents.

"Amanda Waller, by order of the president herself, you are under arrest for too many crimes to be listed here." Sara said as CIA agents came forward to arrest her.

"What do you think you're doing?" Waller demanded.

"I'm following orders, just not yours. Two hours ago the president received an anonymous, encrypted email that contained a digital ledger of every dirty deed you've ever been associated with. Including your little suicide squad." Sara said.

"This is treason, Agent Lance. You're the one who should be wearing cuffs right now." Waller said.

"I cut a deal for amnesty and immunity in exchange for not only cooperating with the CIA's investigation into you, but also testifying against you in open court. Something I am looking forward to doing. And any blackmail you had on my family will only make things worse." Sara smugly.

"And she's not the only one willing to testify against you." Jake Gamble said as he, Lyla and Ava joined them.

"Gamble." Waller said as she tried to find a way out of this.

"I joined Argus to help protect my country, not exploit it." Gamble said, disgusted by Waller and satisfied to see her getting what she deserved.

"I thought you were to me." Waller said.

"I'm loyal to my country, not to you and putting bombs in people, even criminals, is not what I signed up for." Gamble said to Waller in disgust.

"You'll regret this." Waller said as the CIA agents began dragging her out.

"Okay, the room is secure." Sara said as members of the secret service escorted President Olivia Marsden into the room.

"Agent Lance, both I and your country thank you for exposing Amanda Waller as the monster she was. Clearly whichever one of my predecessors thought it was a good idea to place her in charge was not thinking clearly." President Marsden said.

"No arguments here." Sara agreed and the others did as well.

"However, Argus will need new leadership while my office conducts a thorough investigation into just how deeply Waller's corruption went into your ranks, since I can't help but feel like her style of leadership allowed other unsavory elements to infiltrate your ranks." Marsden said and Sara nodded.

"And we'll cooperate with your investigation in any way we can." Sara said.

"I know you will. Director Lance." President Marsden said, to Sara's shock.

"I'm sorry, did you just call me Director Lance?" Sara asked, thinking that this must be some kind of mistake.

"Yes I did. You are the kind of person I want running our country's primary intelligence apparatus, since unlike your predecessor, you understand that the ends do not justify the means. You understand right from wrong and you recognize that all human lives matter, whether they're human or metahuman. Though I'm assuming that the reason you don't handle aliens is because that's a different department's jurisdiction?" Marsden asked and Sara nodded.

"But I do have the same values about aliens that I do the others. I just know where our jurisdiction ends, since while metas are Argus territory, we'll leave aliens to the DEO. And I'm content to let most metas live peacefully as long as they don't cause trouble. I even think that eventually legislation should be passed to ensure that they receive the same rights as regular humans." Sara said.

"Have you ever thought about running for office? You'd have my endorsement." President Marsden said.

"I'm flattered, but I'm not really the leadership type. I'm a field agent, not a director." Sara said.

"I understand your hesitations, but you're the only agent I can trust with this task, since you came forward and exposed Waller, despite knowing the potential consequences of your actions. Agents like you were already the heart of Argus. Now it's time for you to become its head. Essentially tear down Amanda Waller's Argus and rebuild it into something better. Into what Argus is supposed to be." President Marsden said.

"You're not gonna take no for an answer are you?" Sara asked.

"No, I'm not. Though you will have some time to figure everything out, since I believe that Amanda Waller's rot is too deeply embedded into Argus. Best to remove it all and rebuild it into something better." President Marsden said.

"Wait, you're appointing me director of a dead organization?" Sara asked, confused.

"No, I'm tearing the old Argus down so that you can build a new one up in its place. You'll have full autonomy, but you will report directly to me. You can rebuild Argus however you like." President Marsden said and Sara sighed, since she knew that she wasn't going to get out of this.

"Then I accept both the position of the Argus director and the task of rebuilding Argus essentially from scratch." Sara said.

"I'm so proud." Ava said with a smile as she moved to kiss her fiance.

"Excellent. In the meantime, Argus's duties will be folded into the charter of the DEO until Argus has been rebuilt to the point where you can take them back over." President Marsden said and Sara nodded.

"I'll start now, but I also have my wedding coming up that we are not delaying for this, so it will be a bit slow in the beginning." Sara said, giving her fiance a look that was non negotiable.

"Agreed." Ava said, since she didn't want to delay their wedding either, especially considering how close it was.

"Agent Gamble will serve as my second in command of Argus while he, along with Ava and Lyla will serve as advisors, since I know that Lyla was planning on stepping back a bit now that she's pregnant." Sara said and Lyla nodded at her gratefully.

"Like I said, you'll have full discretion to rebuild Argus and I want you to take your time and do it right. I'll be in touch." Lyla said as she and the secret service left.

"So, where do we start, boss?" Ava asked Sara.

"Gamble, I want you to start coordinating transport of all Argus inmates and candidates for task force X to Belle Reve, where they belonged, though considering what Waller did to them, we will consider showing them some leniency. Lyla, take over communications, let every Argus agent know that their current assignment will be their last for the time being. Ava you will coordinate all activities here for the moment until I get back." Sara said.

"Where are you going?" Lyla asked, though she had an idea.

"To tell Team Arrow about this development. One of you please send me surveillance footage of Waller being taken away in cuffs, since Oliver and Tatsu will both want proof of this." Sara said and Gamble chuckled.

"I'm on it." Gamble said.
