After Luke had gotten a text from Ted to meet, Oliver had ordered Luke to go along with whatever Ted had planned, looking like a loyal recruit and not acting like he knew what was going on right now with Lyla, in order to keep up appearances and to keep Lyla safe, which was why he was currently walking into the garage of the Blackhawk building.

"Luke, glad to see you could make it." Ted said, thinking that maybe he'd gotten the wrong impression of Luke, since after all, if anyone could understand being angry at the world, it was likely him.

"I miss feeling needed like this. Like I did in the army. I'm pretty sure the only reason I got a job at Wayne was because of who my dad is." Luke said, telling Ted exactly what he wanted to hear to keep his cover.

"Let's just get this over with." John said angrily, not believing that Luke was going along with whatever this is.

"Alright don't be testy." Ted said.

"What exactly are we doing?" Luke asked.

"We're knocking over an armored car and stealing the cash inside." John said angrily.

"Wait what?" Luke asked, since even though he already knew that, he had to pretend to look shocked.

"This world doesn't appreciate men like us anymore Fox. We were guardians once. This is a way for us to be powerful men again and this is the last job and we need both of you to pull it off." Ted said.

"And if I refuse?" Luke asked, since he needed to sound like he was acting under duress.

"Well, if your own life doesn't matter to you, then what about the lives of your parents? After all, Gotham is a very dangerous city and it's so easy for something to happen to either of them by some random coincidence." Ted said.

"You son of a bitch." John said, still angry.

"Language John. Remember, the sooner we get this job done, the sooner you get your wife back." Ted said.

"You son of a bitch." Luke said.

"Let's just get this done." John said, wanting to get this over with and he hoped that Ted would get what's coming to him eventually.

"That's the spirit. Let's get to work." Ted said as he began walking them through the job, unaware that they were being recorded.

"What do we do about Luke's family?" Laurel asked back at the barracks as Oliver and Tatsu both finished getting geared up.

"I already called our friend in Gotham who's taking care of it. Luke's family will be fine. Now we need to get Lyla out of the line of fire." Oliver said, since he wasn't revealing Bruce's secret identity with Argus agents in the barracks or Tatsu, since it wasn't his secret to share.

"Okay then, so what's the plan?" Laurel asked.

"Well, I will be taking Gamble and your sister to rescue Agent Michaels to remove Mr. Gaynor's leverage over Mr. Diggle." Tatsu said.

"While I make sure that Gaynor and his cohorts are the only people who get hurt tonight." Oliver said as he lifted his bow.

"And you're sure I can't help out with either team?" Laurel asked.

"You're not ready and Abby hasn't given the all clear." Oliver said, since he'd given Abby the authority to determine who was cleared for combat as the team's medic.

"Did I hear my name?" Abby asked as she walked into the Barracks.

"Hey, how was your thing?" Laurel asked her friend, since Abby had been vague about what she'd been away for.

"I'll tell you later, since it looks like you're in the middle of an operation?" Abby asked.

"Laurel can bring you up to speed, since we need to get going." Oliver said as he headed for the garage to head out.

"We're almost at the truck." Knox said back to the team as their vehicle approached their armored car target.

"Where's Tavaroff? I'm surprised he's not in on this?" Luke asked.

"Gaynor has his right hand holding Lyla prisoner to keep me in check." John said through gritted teeth.

"You son of a bitch." Luke said, since Oliver had already informed him that Bruce was protecting his parents and Tatsu was handling the Lyla situation.

"Careful Fox. We all do our jobs right, everyone gets to go home." Ted said, right as they heard an explosion and suddenly the vehicle they were in started jerking around as one of the wheels went out.

"What's going on?" Ted demanded.

"I don't know. I think someone shot out of our wheels." Knox said as they jerked forward as the van crashed into a divider.

"What's going on?" John asked, though Luke had to stop himself from grinning, since he knew exactly what the problem was.

"Someone's trying to get in our way. Their last mistake." Ted said as they all moved to get their weapons and got out of the vehicle to find the Green Arrow waiting for them.

"Ted Gaynor, you have failed this city." Green Arrow said as he notched an arrow and aimed it right at Gaynor.

"You really think that you can take all of us?" Ted asked.

"I've seen worse odds." Green Arrow said.

"I don't know about that. Present from Tavaroff in case you decided to show up." Gaynor said as he, Knox and the rest of their unit took injectors full of what had to be samples of Venom and injected them right into the back of their skulls.

"What the hell?" John asked as he watched Gaynor and the other thugs gain a serious height and muscle growth.

"Of course they're on Venom too." Luke said.

"They're on what?" John asked.

"The same stuff that lunatic Bane in Gotham shoots himself up with that gives him super strength." Luke said.

"Of course, because regular lunatics aren't enough for this city." John said.

"Good thing we also have someone to help deal with thugs like this." Luke said, referring to Green Arrow and John nodded, since ever since finding out that Arrow had taken out his brother's killer, his respect for the man had gone up significantly. But when John actually looked at Green Arrow, he actually looked right into Arrow's eyes and realized that he knew those eyes.

"Oliver." John said, so many things suddenly made sense.

"What?" Luke asked.

"I know who it is under that hood and I can tell that you do too Fox. But we'll discuss that later." John said and Luke nodded.

"Then you should also know that one of his associates is freeing Lyla and he's reached out to an associate in Gotham who can keep my parents safe." Luke said.

"Then let's help him take out the trash." John said as he turned his gun on Gaynor and so did Luke.

"Traitors." Gaynor said.

"That would imply we were ever loyal to you." Luke said as they appeared to be in a bit of a standoff, right in the middle of Star City, where everyone could see that the Green Arrow was in fact real.

"Not exactly how I wanted to make my debut in this city official, but I guess it had to happen sooner or later." Green Arrow said as he dodged a dozen bullets fired by Gaynor's men before the thugs tried to charge at him.

Keyword being tried since while they were bigger and stronger, Green Arrow was smaller, faster and most importantly, smarter, so he was able to take down these venom junkies easily, though Luke and John did provide some cover fire for him until Gaynor was the only one left standing.

"It's over Ted. You're surrounded and the cops are their way." John said.

"Green Arrow, this is Katana. Tavaroff is down and Lyla is secure. We're heading back to the Barracks now." Katana said over the comms.

"Music to my ears. Lyla's safe." Green Arrow said and John looked at him gratefully.

"Thank you. And when this is over, we have a lot to talk about." John said and Green Arrow nodded as he held Gaynor at arrowpoint.

"You really think I'll go that easily?" Gaynor asked as he managed to grab some random civilian, a teenager of all things, and used him as a human shield.

"Let him go Gaynor." Green Arrow snarled, though he couldn't take the shot yet.

"Why? I've seen this kid around town. He's just another Glades gangbanger no one will miss." Gaynor said cockily.

"And you're depriving him of the chance to change things." Green Arrow said angrily, since he'd also seen this kid around the Glades and he believed that there was hope for him, if he wanted it.

"Let him go, Ted. You were a soldier, you know this isn't right." John said, trying to appeal to the soldier in Gaynor.

"I'm not a soldier anymore John and I won't go out like a criminal." Ted said and they could see desperation in his eyes, the Venom only making him even more insane than he already was.

"Let me go, or the kid dies." Ted said.

"Neither of those things are happening." Green Arrow said as he fired a perfectly aimed arrow that nicked Gaynor's arm, forcing him to let the kid go.

"I don't think so." Ted said only to be tackled to the ground by John.

"Are you okay kid?" Green Arrow asked him.

"Yeah, but that guy was right about me. I'm a nobody, just another thug in the Glades." the kid said.

"But you have the potential to be more. Everyone deserves a second chance to turn their lives around. The question is, what are you going to do with yours? What's your name?" Green Arrow asked.

"Roy Harper." the kid said.

"Why don't you try stopping at the Queen Community Center in the Glades. It might help you find some direction in your life." Green Arrow said as the sirens began to be heard and Green Arrow took that as his cue to leave.

"Wait, who are you?" Roy asked.

"Call me the Green Arrow." Green Arrow said as he pulled a batmanlike exit.
