Ross' POV

"You really going to do it dude?"  My friend Brandon asked as we sat together at a local bar.

"I've got to, I owe it to Nate."

It's been three days since Nate died. I took a few days off work to prepare for Nate's funeral and also find her.

The night he died, after getting home from my parents, I hired these guys who were my old college buddy's cousin's neighbor uncle who's ex's wife best friend's are friends how specialized in finding people like runaways, to help me find Laura, cause there was no way I could have done it on my own.

The police tried for two years, but it was like she had vanished off of the face of the earth.

"I get it, Nate really wanted to find her back, but this chick seems impossible. It's been what? Six years you guys said since she ran away? What makes you think she wants to come back? What makes you think she's even in the state? Hell she's probably in the Philippines right now .....or maybe...." He trailed off and my breath hitched at what he was hinting.

I threw him a punch in his arm making his grin spill on his pants. "Shit man!" He groaned standing up. He walked away cursing at me readjusting his now wet jeans as he walked to the washroom.

I sighed looking at the floor, completely ignoring the busty blonde winking at me in attempts to desperately get my attention.

It's been three days, and I'm losing hope that these guys would ever find her. But it's not like they weren't. Good. I did research and them, and they were amazing,  finding people who've disappeared for almost ten years. I read up about them finding this little girl who ran away for almost twenty years, it took them four years to find her but when they did , they found her half way across the world already an adult and married with three kids, with a different name.

So yes there was hope somewhere that they could find her. And when they do I just hope that she wasn't half way across the world with a new name.

"Why so sad sexy?" A warm hand touched my chest, dragging me out of my thoughts.

My eyes lifted and connected to warm brown ones.

The same busty blonde from stared right into my eyes. Her long fake nails poking into my chest as she grinned.

"Mmm, firm." She hummed in approval at my body.

"Sorry." I grabbed her hand on my chest, taking it off of me and placing it by her side with a soft smile. "Not interested."

"Aww," She cooed with a slight pout, but you haven't even gotten to know me yet." She wink seductively, lifting her chest, simultaneously causing her blessing to push out.

I gave her I smile, trying to let her down easy. "I'm really not interested."

But she was either, half deaf or decisiding to ignore my rejection as she placed her hand on my thigh, rubbing up and down slowly as I sat on the bar stool.

"Oh sweet-"

"He said he's not interested, and if he has to repeat it one more time, you and I will have a problem Missy."

The blonde girl and I simultaneously turn to the owner of the voice and I smile when I saw her.

Blondie, flipped her the bird before shuffling away from me, but not before winking at me and saying " until next time sexy beast."

I blinked a few before turning back to the other girl "Hey Sophie." I gave her a friendly hug as a greeting as she took up the seat next to me where her ex once sat.

"You're too sweet, for your own good Ross. You're not even able to reject a chick without being an ass. That was the none jerkish reject, I've ever seen." She laughed before finishing my abandoned shot.

Sophie, was one of my few real females friends. We met in college where, we also met Brandon. She and Brandon dated for a year until breaking up for a reason I don't even know until now.

"Well it's just not in my nature to be a jerk. I can't really if I tried." I said smiling at her as she chuckled.

"Brandon is here you know." I stated quietly as I looked at her.

I watched her perk up a bit, before she frowned scanning the bar then watched as she put on fake confidence as if she didn't care "Off with another conquest I'm sure?"

"No, I spilled vodka on his jeans he's in the washroom."

I quietly observed as she released a sigh. I've caught you soph.

"Doesn't mean he isn't trying to get a new flavor to go home with."

"Speaking about me muffin?"

We spun around to find Brandon behind us smirking as he leaned on the on the bar stand.

"Psh, you wish." Sophie scoffed before.

"FYI I did find myself a flavor to go home with tonight, and might I add, my my my daddy sure loves himself some chocolate." Brandon said in in a failed attempt at an mexican accent making it sound like he said 'cha-ca-lat.'

"As if I cared." Sophie responded.

"But you do." Brandon winked.

I sighed as the two bickered back and forth before tuning them out.

This was regular. These two always seemed to be arguing when together, and it's all because they missed each other and wanted each other back. Sophie was too proud to say so, and Brandon was too much of a player and wanted to hold unto his freedom to do so, even though he was hurting his own self, because he knows he loves Sophie but he's cared to commit.

I knew this from observing and reading them. It just came easy to me to read people.

I small vibration in my pocket made me reach for it, it was either, mom or Courtney.

But when the message came I was left numb and speechless.
