Chapter 14

~Narrator's P.O.V~

-Those assholes... I'll kill them if I get the chance...- Laughing Jack growled to himself, walking through (Y/N)'s house, up to her room, -They nearly killed her-

He huffed, stepping into the cool room, the darkness for once unsettling the normally dark clown. He walked over to the bed and sat next to it, watching the female that rested. She breathed slowly, her neck bandaged messily. A piece of the gauze started to unravel, and the clown grumbled, fixing it up.

"Dammit (Y/N)... That's the last time I ditch you..." He sighed, looking tiredly after the girl.

She shifted slightly, groaning in response. The clown sat straight, this was the first reaction he had gotten since she passed out. (Y/N)'s eyes fluttered for a second, and she let out a pain-filled gurgle, holding her hand to her neck.

"Jack..?" She glanced around the room, clearly in a daze.

"Yes Lollipop?" He asked, scooting closer.

"Are we... Home...?"

"We are." He nodded, before holding a lolly to her mouth, "Eat this, it will make you feel better."

"Is it chocolate...?" She rubbed her eyes, before sitting up, "Ugh... I feel like I was hit by a bus..."

Laughing Jack gave a chuckle, "You look like you were too."

"Thanks..." She grumbled and took the candy, eating it.

"What did they do to you?" He asked, tilting his head.

"Um..." She sighed and rubbed her head, "Man... I think they beat me or some shit... And threatened to break my knees... And then that twitchy asshole did something to my neck."

"He cut it."

"What?! Ow..."

"Easy... Slenderman told him to so he did it." He shrugged, "Just focus on eating the candy though, okay? Forget I asked anything."

She nodded, still chewing on the special treat. A silence filled the room, and Laughing Jack kicked his feet against the floor. Finally, it seemed like she had finished the lolly, he turned to her and offered a toothy grin,

"Feeling better?"

"I suppose so... My throat isn't hurting as much.." She sighed, still holding her bandaged neck.

"That will be the lolly, it has a healing factor." The clown shrugged, "I've given you one before, that healed you up very nicely."

"So.. You mean I'll be back to normal faster than... Normal?"

"Yep!"

"And why don't you just kill me now?" Jack raised a brow at her, she moved her hands to her lap, looking sheepish, "I mean, why are you helping me..?"

He blinked, staring at the female, "If I wanted to kill you I would have already."

"So.. You mean you aren't going to kill me?"

"Not anymore."

"Oh..." She lowered her gaze, "What made you change your mind?"

Laughing Jack went silent, wondering if he should even bother telling her. With a huff, he sat on her bed properly, crossing his legs, the girl scooted back, hugging her knees close to her chest.

"Well... It's a long story." He said, chuckling as she moved back, "Do you think you're up for it?"

The human gave a nod, leaning forward in anticipation and the clown chuckled a little,

"Right, well get comfy.." He stated, before handing her a lollipop, "And have a treat."

She smiled a little and took the sweet, popping the sugar filled candy into her mouth.

"Right well..." Laughing Jack rubbed his chin, "It started with a boy named Isaac..."

"Oh, I take it this is your first victim?"

"Er.. Yeah. Anyway... Isaac was a lonely boy, his father abused his mother, and so his mother was strict. I was created for him to be his best friend. A Laughing Jack-in-a-Box. As you can expect, that went well, until he was sent to a boarding school..."

"And he didn't take you with him?"

"He couldn't. But he had promised to come back for me as soon as he could." Laughing Jack rubbed his head, "I believed him."

"Oh..."

"Right, anyway... I was alone for 13 years... And I remember every day. Sitting in my box, listening to the world around me. It wasn't fun. Being alone... It changed me. I used to be so full of colours you know, like a rainbow."

The girl nodded, watching the clown with a sad expression. That's why he had gotten upset, they had completely different ideas of loneliness. And looking at the monochrome clown now, his shoulders drooped and head hanging, (Y/N) wondered what he looked like happy and colourful.

A sudden hatred burnt in her stomach, thinking about the boy Isaac. By the sound of it, he broke his promise, which left Jack to become the evil, monochrome clown he was.

"That sounds.. Awful..." She finally said, hugging her knees and holding the lollipop with her free hand, "So what happened to the boy?"

"Well, his father one day beat his mother to death, and he was hung for it."

"Hung? How long ago was this?"

"A little over 200 years."

"200 years?!"

Laughing Jack glanced at the girl and chuckled at her flabbergasted look, before stretching out his legs and leaning back against the wall, clawed hands behind his head.

"Yep, I've seen it all. Anyway, back to the story."

"Right, sorry." (Y/N) nodded, watching the clown with interest.

He flashed a toothy grin, before turning his gaze to the ceiling, "With no one else to look after the house, Isaac was sent home, it was his place now since both his parents were dead. He stayed there for a wall, just going out to walk and coming home drunk. His life was very boring."

"And.. He forgot about you..?"

"Yeah..." He sighed, "Until one day.. I watched him bring a girl home, I'm not sure what it was he was trying to do, but she didn't like it and tried to leave."

The female thought for a moment, before blinking, "Oh.. I think I have an idea on what it was..."

"You do?"

"I am NOT telling you."

"Fine.. Anyway, he accidentally killed her, knocked her over the head with a candle stand. Blood was everywhere, it actually looked painful. I can't remember if he hit her once or many times... But she died anyway." The clown rubbed his chin, "That's where it began. Isaac was at first shocked he had murdered someone, but then he laughed, before he took that girl's body, and turned her into a chair."

"A chair?!"

"Yeah, he cut her open, took out her organs, dried out her bones and skin and made a chair out of her. I watched the whole thing, and since Isaac was enjoying it, it must be fun right? But I couldn't get out of my box, so I could only watch and giggle as he brought more and more people in, turning his bedroom into a torture room. The screams and the blood was very entertaining."

"And that's where you got your psychotic killing from?"

"In a way.. One day, I really wanted to try it out, so with enough effort, I broke the shelf my box was on and tumbled to the ground. Isaac saw and let me out, but he didn't recognise me. He didn't remember me..."

The clown let out a growl, gripping his claws tightly into fists, and the girl moved away slightly.

"That asshole.. After leaving me for over a decade, he had the audacity to let me go and act like he didn't know who I was. His first ever friend. After everything I did..." He growled more and held his head.

"Laughing Jack...?" (Y/N) tilted her head, "Hey.. If you don't want to tell me, you don't have to. You can stop now."

The clown ignored her, gripping his hair, "He left me there, so I did to him what he did to so many... I nailed him to the table, I cut his tongue out because he was yelling so loud..."

Jack began to giggle slightly, an evil smirk spread over his black lips, and (Y/N) scooted further away.

"Jack.. You can stop now..."

"Then, the ass didn't want to watch the show! So I made sure he couldn't close his eyes while I cut his lips off and smashed his teeth in. His screams of pain were glorious!" He cackled and hugged his shoulders, looking like a madman, "But that wasn't the best part! Next I cut him open! I ripped him open and pulled out his organs, I turned his intestines into balloon animals, it was hilarious!"

"Laughing Jack please stop..." The girl held a hand to her mouth, feeling rather queasy as he continued his story.

The clown ignored her, now in his own little fantasy. He giggled and cackled as he spoke of the aged memory, however tears streamed from his eyes,

"But no, the bastard had to be dying so I stuck him with a needle, in the eye! His whole eye popped out! What a show it had become! It was time for the finale, so I poured a bunch of cockroaches into his stomach, they moved through his whole body! But they started to suffocate him, so I had to kill him before that opportunity was missed! Pulling out his heart was the most satisfying thing!"

Jack let out a final, crazed laugh, hugging his stomach as if in pain, and the female was now standing and backing away. What else could she do? What if he attacked her while in this crazed state? His evil cackle lasted for a while, and the girl was trembling herself, scared beyond belief.

She had never seen this side of the psycho murderer, it was more terrifying than his normal, creepy self. It felt like forever, but slowly, Laughing Jack's laughter died to small giggles, and he wiped the black tears from his eyes, before looking around the room.

"(Y/N)? Where did you go?" He let out a huffed giggle, before his eyes scanned the room, now serious once again. Finally he spotted her on the other side of the room, shaking in a corner and watching him with a mix of worry and fear.

He tilted his head, before standing, "Are you okay? Was it too scary?"

The girl nodded slowly, lowering her gaze to the floor.

He sighed and scratched his head, "Oh.. I'm sorry..."

But he froze when he felt the female hug him, her arms wrapped around his waist tightly, and she pressed her face into his abdomen.***

"It's fine... Are you okay..? That all sounded.. Horrible..."

He stared down at her, before a smile spread over his face and he pat her head, "I'm okay now, if I think about it too much it just gets to me.." He sighed and stood back, moving his hair from his eyes, "Some old wounds never truly heal, and bleed again at the slightest word." (George R.R. Martin).

"And that's why you got mad when I said I liked being alone? Because it was so bad for you?"

"Pretty much." He shrugged, sitting back down.

"Oh.. I'm sorry..." She sighed, "If I knew, I would have worded it better, or not say anything at all..."

"It's okay, anyway I wanted to give you something." He stated, and an old box appeared in his hands. It was decently sized, fitting in his long claws almost perfectly. It's old wooden coloured were faded, and the clown faces on the sides still smiled a happy smile, although scratched and slightly battered.

"Jack.. Is this your box...?" The girl stared at it, taking it slowly in her hands. It was rather light, which surprised her as it looked really heavy.

"You bet. I normally keep it in my carnival, but I thought I should let you look after it." He smiled at her, before putting a lollipop in his mouth, back to his seemingly happy self.

"Oh.. Well thank you." (Y/N) smiled at him, "I'll do my best to look after it."

"Much appreciated."

"Heh.." The human chuckled a little, "You seem to like lollipops too."

"You bet." He chuckled and winked at her, "Now you should probably rest, it will help you heal."

"Right. Thank you for telling me your story too, I feel like that was really.. Secretive or something." The human placed the box on her bedside table, before crawling into her bed.

"One of the most secretive secrets I could keep a secret." The clown let out a giggle, before standing, "And yeah, I really do love lollipops.."

(Y/N) nodded, before letting out a yawn and curling up under the blanket. Laughing Jack smiled more, before disappearing from view, and even though he was invisible to the eye, the girl could still feel his silvery gaze on her.

-I wonder if that's why he calls me Lollipop...- She thought to herself, before everything went dark.
