"They're really swimming man... I thought they would just wet their legs a bit and come back" Jin said and Namjoon agreed.

"Can you see where they are?" he asked, making them all reply with a 'no'.

"What if something happened to them" Hobi said and Yoongi shook his head.

"Nah man let's chill... Jungkook won't drown or let Jimin drown either" he said and the other agreed but stayed a little worried anyway.

"15 more minutes... If they don't show up somewhere, we'll go find them" Tae suggested and they all nodded.

Beyond the fire on the shore, the sand, and and further in the water, two boys were sitting in silence with a good distance between them.

"Ask your questions Jimin" Jungkook said, rolling his eyes at the stubborn boy.

The younger just glared at him and continued playing with the wet sand beneath him.

"Why are you pouting..." he tried to reason and Jimin huffed.

"What we're not gonna do, is act as if you didn't forcefully keep me here in the cold to save your own ass from Jin"

"I wouldn't be doing this is you'd promised not to tell him... You don't understand, Jin is scary when he's on parent mode"

"And it's my problem because...?"

"You're right it's mine only, but! But... "

"Hmm?"

"Come on, don't make this harder Jimin, you're being a brat... I literally just pushed you slightly under it's not like I tried to kill you or anything" Jungkook raised his arms, splashing some water when they dropped down.

"Of course yeah... Then why are you afraid I'll say exactly that to Jin? It shouldn't be that big of a deal" Jimin shrugged and got up, shivering from the cold breeze.

"Sit your ass back down" Jungkook said as he pulled the smaller's arm down.

"Here we go again"

"It's not okay because you cried, on your birthday" he explained "Jin is really serious about this stuff, he thinks crying on your own birthday leads to bad luck for at least a year" he announced and Jimin gasped.

"So you drowned me and cursed me for at least a year?! What did I ever do to you Jeon" Jimin said dramatically and Jungkook chuckled.

"Stop... I don't believe in that shit and neither should you, you'll accomplish great things if you really want to, bad luck and stuff isn't relevant" he stated and Jimin crossed his arms.

"You don't know if it exists or not for sure"

"Even if it did, I was just playing I didn't know you were gonna cry so easily, so why am I the one who cursed you?" Jungkook complained, feeling wronged.

"Because that's just how it is, deal with it" he pursed his lips and shrugged his shoulders.

They sat together some more and Jimin now started physically shivering since all his body heat had dropped considerably. "Alright it's enough Jungkook, let's go" he said, wrapping his arms against himself. His wet dark hair was stuck against his forehead and his lips started losing that pink color.

Jungkook was skeptical.

"I won't tell them, goddamit let's just go" he rolled his eyes and chuckled.

They both got up and hissed at the cold, it felt like they were wearing bikinis on the mountains of Russia during winter. Or that's how Jungkook would describe it.

"How did we drift this far" Jimin wondered, seeing as the waves weren't even that strong. "Hey slow down! I can't walk as fast as you"

"I'm freezing kid, I hope you understand" Jungkook simply said and continued.

"This is so unfair, don't leave me behind" Jimin complained, his words cutting as his teeth chattered, making Jungkook roll his eyes. He crouched down and told the other to get on his back fast.

"Much better" Jimin said in a contented voice, ignoring the uncomfortable feeling of their wet skin pressing and rather focusing on the fire a few meters away. With Jungkook's long legs, they took no time to get there and Jimin immediately freed himself to grab one of the towels. He pulled a chair closer to the fire and sat with his arms extended to warm himself up.

"How was it guys?" Tae asked and Jimin looked at him.

"I cried-" he started and Jungkook quickly shot a glare at him. Jin was carefully listening but Jimin only smirked and continued "-laughing at Jeon drown himself"

He stole a glance at the tallest and found him mouthing a 'brat' , then shaking his head afterwards.

Jungkook was now standing on the other side of fire, with a towel around his waist. He put his pants to dry on Yoongi's chair and was now wearing his T-shirt again. Jimin thought he should do the same. Coming back from where he was changing, he found Namjoon handing him his phone.

"It was ringing a few minutes before you came back, and now again" he said.

Jimin found 2 missed calls from his mom and pursed his lips before deciding to call her back.

"Hey mom... "

"Jimin! I was so worried! I told you to come back early where are you?"

"I'm still at the beach mom, I know I'm sorry"

"When are you coming back it's already 1am, and I don't want those college kids to drive at night I made that clear"

"I know... Well since we couldn't come back early for nightfall" he looked at the other boys who were quietly listening "We can come back super late instead, for sunrise" he suggested to his mom, and the guys had questioning expressions in their faces. He raised his arms as if saying 'What else could I have said'

"I hate that idea" he mom said "But it's the only option... You're so getting grounded" she added and he smiled "I know mom, love you, bye" he hung up and the boys started asking him all those questions they were keeping.

"So now we're staying until sunrise?" Hobi asked and Yoongi raised an eyebrow.

"Do you ever think" he said and the other knit his eyebrows in confusion.

"We can drive back and stay in someone's place until it would make sense for me to arrive home" Jimin explained and Jin nodded.

"I know for a fact Namjoon and I have to go back early and get some sleep. We have to drive to campus and spend the rest of the day studying for our test on Monday" he said and Namjoon agreed.

"Yeah, although I really like the idea of watching the sunrise from here" he said.

"Totally a romantic" Jimin joked.

"Me too guys, not to be a buzz kill or anything. I'm just really tired"

"I assume I don't really have a say in this anymore since I'm the only one left with a car" Jungkook pointed out and the other upperclassmen smiled apologetically.

"Not really... Since Hobi just wants to sleep and doesn't actually have something to do tomorrow, I say he can sleep in his car until we want to leave" Yoongi suggested and Tae nodded.

"I totally agree" he said and Hobi whined.

"You're just saying that cause you don't wanna go with Kook" he pointed out and said man sighed.

"Y'all really gotta stop being pussies I swear to god" he simply said.

"You had two car accidents already, excuse me if I don't wanna trust you with my life" Yoongi explained.

"Same" Tae added.

"Two?" Jimin shrieked.

"It was a long time ago... I made some rookie mistakes, it's okay nothing serious" he shrugged, waving his hand around to dismiss the argument.

They all continued chatting with the music playing in the background, the snacks were finished, there was only one piece of the cake left which Jimin wanted to give his mom in the morning, and only beers remained in the cooler.

"Alright it's been fun, we gotta go guys" they two young men announced, taking the tired puppy with them.

"Same here I'll go sleep in my car, rather than in my comfortable bed at home because of that bully of a brother you have Namjoon" Hoseok complained and Yoongi rolled his eyes. "Bye guys!" Jimin waved as they walked in the distance. 

The four looked at each other and Yoongi raised an eyebrow.

"You're not about to act like those three were the life of the party" he stated and they laughed "Kook go get us some more wood from the bushes the fire is starting to die" Tae asked and he knit his eyebrows.

"You're asking me... Someone who's literally half naked waiting for his pants to dry in this cold, to go get you wood" he deadpanned and Yoongi nodded "He has a point" he said and went to do that instead.

"What's with the gay ass song" Yoongi said when he came back, the fire blazing harder all to Jimin's satisfaction.

"It's a nice song" Tae shrugged.

"Are you trying to come out to us or something" Yoongi joked and he chuckled, shaking his head "Of course not, dumbass" he laughed, kicking the older from where he was sitting.

"I mean I don't know... If you like dick that's a whole other story"

"Bitch I said I wasn't gay" he laughed "Also get out of here if you're homophobic" he added and rolled his eyes.

"Couldn't be me, sir" he denied and leaned back on his chair "Homophobes don't win against Jeon Jungkook in a one-on-one"

"Damn right kid, damn right" Jungkook smiled.

Jimin silently watched the exchange in amusement, checking occasionally if his pants had dried or not yet. The belt part was still cold since it was the thickest, but he thinks he will be able to wear them soon.

Another hour passed, sunrise was in 46 minutes, but two of the high schoolers were definitely nodding off.

"Jeon. Hey- Jeon" Jimin quietly called the older male, who was on his phone scrolling through social media. Or trying to, at least, since the internet connection was very poor.

"Hm?" said boy looked at him, watching him quickly do the button of his jeans and wear his shoes "You leaving?" he quietly asked as well not to make a lot of noise.

"Yeah I'm gonna drive my car that I came with, with the drivers licence I don't have" he rolled his eyes. Jimin walked over to the older and crouched down by the towel he was laying on. He tried to push Jungkook to a sitting position but the guy was just too heavy.

"Goddamn what do they feed you" Jimin complained and Jungkook did the job for him "What is it"

Jimin whispered in his ear words that made his eyes shoot up in excitement. They both got up and walked a little further to where they could make more noise without disturbing the two.

"Why do you even have this? Just in case?" Jimin chuckled and Jungkook smirked "You never know... Actually long story short, I found it in my car a couple days ago and left it there for an occasion like this" he chuckled, his deep voice resonating in Jimin's ear in contrast with the silence of the night.

"Let's take a selfie before you put it on" Jimin said and Jungkook smirked.

"You wanna keep a little souvenir, is that it?"

"You bet I do, for once I'm gonna enjoy doing something with you" he replied and the elder pulled his phone, angling it so that it could get both of them in the frame. Blame Jimin's small size, Jungkook says.

They walked back together, very quietly and Jimin now took his own phone out, pressing the record button.

"go" he whispered.

Jungkook walked right towards Tae and Yoongi, they were sitting close to each other so they could both see him when he nudged them. He touched both of them at the same time, and both opened their eyes with the exact same view of a clown mask in front of their faces. They screamed, Tae fell back from his chair and Yoongi punched Jungkook square in the face.

"Ow! Boi you can pack a punch who would've thought" Jungkook pointed out, removing the mask and cupping his cheek. It wasn't going to make a bruise but it still did hurt a little.

Jimin was laughing his ass out in the back, he had stopped recording but couldn't get over it just yet. Especially after Jungkook got punched in the face.

The two sleepers complained about being woken up that way and cursed at Jungkook like their life mission depended on it.

"We decided we're gonna leave... All of us are clearly tired and it's still pretty cold" Jungkook explained, holding a cold beer against his cheekbone.

"About fucking time" Yoongi said and started picking the chairs up. They cleaned the place and did a couple trips to put things in the car trunks, waking Hobi up in the process.

"All set, let's just take out the fire" Jungkook said and Jimin nodded.

They all walked to the two cars, splitting up like planned and getting in. Jimin sat in the passenger's side and pushed the seat a bit lower to be able to lay slightly.

"I mean yeah, make yourself comfortable while I drive your ass back home" Jungkook said.

"Don't speed up this time please I can't keep up with that and I'm really tired" Jimin pleaded and the other nodded.

"Lame but I'll let it slide cause today is officially your birthday"

The sound of the starting engine filled the space as they got further from the beach.
