"Do you play any instrument?"

"Yeah, I've been learning piano for two years now. It's not much but I know a couple pieces" she chuckled and he nodded "That's already way better than what I can do on a piano. I can't play a tune for my life" He waived his hand around with a smile.

It was a little over 4pm, and Ryujin had been fun ever since their date started. They met in a cafe downtown, and Jimin was actually a little late so Ryujin had already gotten her drink and sat at a table on her phone, waiting for him to show up a few minutes later. 

"But you can sing! I think that's a lot more impressive than my lullabies" she pointed out. Jimin nodded and shrugged "You're right" she slapped his arm "You're not supposed to say that" she fussed, amused by Jimin's comment "But I did, didn't I?" he added "Unbelievable".

"But seriously, I would love to learn an instrument for real. It just sounds like so much work to practice almost everyday and all" he complained.

"It's like learning a new language really. It can only get better with practice.. Have you taken any singing lessons?" she asked, sipping on her bubble tea.

"No not really"

"Oh so we're naturally talented now sir?" She teased and he laughed "Stop that's embarrassing!" he exclaimed, trying to keep his voice down not to disturb anybody "Maybe someday we can schedule a performance where I can play the piano and have you sing with me" she suggested.

Jimin was torn between feeling like he's letting her do all the talking, or thinking she talks a lot. Granted, the fact that there wasn't any awkward silence ever since they met was definitely enjoyable, it also allowed him to discover the girl's personality and notice a few things about her, such as covering her mouth when she laughs, or popping her fingers when she was a little nervous.

"I don't know if I'm down to sing Jingle Bells in front of anyone" he replied halfheartedly "You're gonna stop teasing me about that okay? I swear I can play" she claimed and he put his arms up in defense "We'll have to try and see" he replied, leaning his chin on his hand and watching her look away, gleeful about the hint to a possible second date.

Just like that, another hour passed, they were now talking about celebrities and actors they liked. Jimin learned so much about the girl in such a short period of time, she liked music and fantasy movies, she enjoyed reading novels inspired from true stories and loved french fries somewhere in the middle of it all. He knew some more of these little facts and wondered if she noticed stuff about him too. He knew he was a very observant person and paid attention to details so he was curious what kind of takeaways would she get from this date. 

"I'm sorry Ryujin, I have this thing at 6 I gotta go to... We should do this again it was a lot of fun" he said and she nodded, getting up and going for a short hug "I enjoyed it too! Thanks for coming. I'll be staying here a little while longer though" she said and he smiled "Alright, I'll see you monday" he bid her good bye and walked out of the cafe.

He went back home to change into stretchy comfortable clothes, consisting of a large primary colors T-shirt, dark grey pants and Puma trainers. He was about to head out when his mom caught him tiptoeing. 

"Hello there, mister?" she said "Mom.. I really have to go" he tried but she only shook her head and stood against the door, blocking his exit "Not until you tell me how the date went" he sighed "But I have to meet the boys, we're playing a basket ball game in bit" he whined, hoping his mom would postpone her recap session.

"Hmm... I will let it slide just this once because you're seeing your new friends. You'll come right back and tell me everything right?" she asked, slowly moving from his way.

"I promise, bye" he said and quickly left before she changed her mind. 

He walked to the court and saw that Yoongi and Tae were already there, they were shooting a few shots and playing one on ones. "Hey guys!"

"Yo"

"Jimin! Right on time, the guys are on their way" Tae said passing Yoongi the ball.

"Come warm up with us" he said and made a 3 pointer, making Tae whistle. They played around for a bit and suddenly Hobi's voice boomed in the space. 

"Wassup losers! The MVPs are here" he said and Yoongi rolled his eyes "Say that after a one-on-one with me, not hiding behind Jungkook" he was quick to snap back, sick of that type of comments from him.

"Isn't it Jimin over here!" Namjoon said and bumped his fist "We'll see if you're as good as my brother says" he said and Jimin immediately felt some intense pressure "No pressure though" he added and Jimin just smiled awkwardly.

'Yeah I don't think saying that is gonna work'

"Hey man" Jungkook said and he replied with a quiet "Hi"

"Alright how are we gonna do this. It would be unfair to have you three team up together we agree" the high school senior started and Hobi shrugged "Maybe for you, sounds just fine to me" he laughed and Yoongi hit him with the ball "Namjoon shut your friend's ass up" 

"Why you so mad today my guy" Jimin joked and Yoongi rested a hand on his hip "Oh I'm not actually mad don't worry, he knows it too" Yoongi smiled pointing at Hobi, who was now clutching his arm.

"Joon, how come he's younger and has more balls than you? Did your mom skip you or what?" he said and the taller knit his eyebrows "Bitch?" he said and Jimin giggled "oof" he said.

"I say I'm taking Jimin since I brought him here, and one of you to complete the team" Yoongi said and Tae stomped like a child.

"Again? You never want me to play with you Yoongi!" he complained and the said man face-palmed "Tae... They'll smoke us if we all play together against them. They're already likely to beat Jimin and I. At least with you on their team they'll have a handicap" he said and Jimin's jaw dropped at the rudeness of the comment. The youngest just narrowed his eyes at the other and sat on the bench.

"Nah Tae you gotta play, I'm the one who's supposed to be sitting out" Jin said and he just crossed his arms, totally ignoring him "Jungkook! They're being too mean!" he fussed and only then did Jimin remember the presence of the guy. He was leaning on the post behind him, both hands in his pockets, just watching the interactions silently. 

"Now, y'all better be nice to my baby cousin" He spoke, voice still as deep as last night which makes Jimin think it's not just an after-smoke thing. He started walking towards the group, and snatched the ball from Hobi's hand, making him chuckle "Oh shit okay" 

"Come here TaeTae, why are you so sad about being on my team?" he said and put an arm around the youngest's shoulder when he got close enough. Jimin watched his friend look away from his cousin, almost as if embarrassed. 

"Cause you don't pass the ball..." he said quietly and Jungkook hummed "You know what we're gonna do, it'll be just us two in the team okay? We'll win against them all with just you and I" Jungkook suggested and the boy's eyes lit up. 

"Really?" he asked, not sure if he was joking or not "Hell yeah. We'll destroy them" he smirked and put his hand up for a high five.

"Awesome, now Jungkook is gonna play seriously" Yoongi sighed and turned to his brother "Your height better be useful Joon! Just focus on blocking him" he said and the taller snorted "Dude it's Kook we're talking about.. He will get past me if he wants to"

"Just do it" Hoseok replied, saving Yoongi the trouble.

Jimin understood that Jungkook must be a great player if he's taking all of them on with just Tae on his side. He smirked and got in position, he felt like it was going to be an interesting match and was sure to focus on not holding his team back.

"Whoever reaches 35 points wins"

"We're two against four, the ball should be ours, it's only fair" Jungkook said and Jin motioned for them to start the game. 

Jungkook passed Tae the ball, and Yoongi wasn't taking any chances, he quickly snatched it and went straight for the shot.

"2-0" Jin announced but jimin could tell the other senior was quite nervous. 

"Sorry.." Tae told Jungkook with a sheepish smile "Choke on your fear Min Yoongi!" he then shouted. 

"It's all good, just focus on the signals I'm giving you" Jungkook replied. 

The four played together very well, trying to confuse the other team and especially one of them, in a way that he wouldn't know who will be trying to score. "Come on guys, don't tease" Jungkook said and ran straight for Hoseok who hesitated to pass and lost the ball. He sighed and went into defense formation. 

The two passed the ball around, and very subtly Jungkook looked at the corner by Hobi for Tae to run over there. He dribbled it right in front of his college friend to get the team's entire attention before swiftly throwing it to his cousin, who was now in a perfect location "Shoot!" and he did.

"There we go!" Tae said, proud about scoring the first points for his team. 

"I forgot about him" Namjoon said and Jimin smiled "Nice play" 

"2-2"

"Tae, you pass the ball" Jungkook said and the other nodded. This time it wasn't the same, Yoongi had no chance of stealing it, they just had to bet on blocking him.

"Jimin don't let your guard down" Hobi warned and he nodded. 

Jungkook came at them at full speed, his size was certainly not helping them. It was almost scary to face him head-on but they did what they had to do. Jimin went towards him with no sign of wavering and Jungkook smirked "ballsey" he let out under his breath, loud enough for Jimin to hear. 

The logic Jimin went with was that Jungkook was not likely to score alone since he had promised Tae to pass him the ball. He just hoped he could influence when that would happen by charging at him suddenly. 

It worked. Jungkook passed the ball and Namjoon was able to get it easily from the boy who was dribbling awkwardly

"4-2"

"Shit this is intense" Hoseok said and Jimin agreed "Told y'all the new kid wasn't half bad" Yoongi reminded and Namjoon clapped "Okay guys, maybe the four of us can do it"

"It was a 2pointer Joon. Don't get ahead of yourself" Jungkook warned from where he stood. 

"Yeah yeah you're great we get it, let's just play" Jimin suddenly snapped. He was feeling both competitive and annoyed by Jungkook's skills, although the way he expressed it doesn't show much sportsmanship.

"Fate brought us together for a reason Jimin. Joon watch and learn!" Yoongi said with a laugh, and Jungkook raised his eyebrows "Sure, let's play" he snapped his neck from both sides.

Hobi passed the ball to Namjoon first, who was quick to give it on to Yoongi, but Jungkook was closing in too fast, he attempted a feint and sent it to Jimin who was a bit further from the post. The boy assessed his options and saw that Tae was blocked by Namjoon and the two others screened Jungkook just enough for him to go through. 

Just as he started dribbling, Jungkook suddenly freed himself from the two and he froze. He had held the ball with his two hands which meant he couldn't try to move away, so he just quickly tried for a 3-pointer and it luckily went in. He punched the air and smiled at his teammates who congratulated him.

"7-2"

"Nice Jimin!" Tae said "I guess yesterday was just not your day, you definitely stepped up you game" he added.

"This was just luck honestly" he bashfully replied and Jungkook clicked his tongue. 

"You made the shot, own it" he simply said and stretched his long legs some more.

The game carried on for another 30 minutes "32 - 30" Jin said when Tae scored a free throw.

Jimin's team was winning they only needed 3 points to finish the game, it would be doable if Jimin didn't just notice Jungkook's expression change after the score was announced. 

They were playing for, hopefully, the decisive shot and Jimin had received the ball. Jungkook was busy guarding Hoseok and he thought he had an opening until the taller appeared right in front of him as he was about the shoot his 3-pointer. He had started to release the ball when the realization hit him, Jungkook could block that just standing the way he was, he didn't even have to try.

"What the fuck are you so tall for" he said, bitter about what just happened.

"Nice pass kid" Jungkook chuckled and went straight for his 3-points.

"32-33"

"Shit... He was saving his energy for this moment" Yoongi muttered and Jimin turned back to the best player among them. He had just received his pass from Tae and went right through Namjoon's block "Are you even trying" Yoongi complained, not taking his eyes off the other. Hoseok was too tired to actually get in Jungkook's way, leaving Yoongi and Jimin. 

He dribbled for a second before fixing his eyes on Jimin, who was quite offended he was picked as an easy target. One second the college student was in front of him, then the next he was hearing the ball go through the net. "Sorry shorty, I promised I'd win this" Jungkook ruffled Jimin hair and the younger swatted his hand away.

"Can't say I didn't expect it.. I just think it would be nice to win against you for once" Yoongi admitted and he shrugged "It's simple, be better than me" he replied and walked to get his water bottle "Good game though" he added.

"Thanks Jungkook" Tae said, feeling a lot better than earlier "Don't thank me, it was all you cousin.. Anyway, later." Jungkook last said before walking out of the place and disappearing around a further corner.

'Does he just take off and leave whenever he feels like it? He doesn't even give any excuse.. I think it's kinda rude' Jimin took a gulp of water as well, shaking the thought from his mind.

"Seriously, she already sees him everyday on campus. Does she really have to spend the weekends with him too?" Yoongi complained. He was hoping he could get a one-on-one with the other before he left.
