o pattern-seeking brain, all you cause me is pain

trying to make the world black and white even though i know that's not right

you wanna put everything in a box, so now that everything's out of place, i feel lost

exhausting me, i'm not free unless i find meaning in every little thing, just let me be

multiple things can be true, there's no one right answer

but you still make me doubt because evolution gave me this cancer

it was useful when we ate bugs in the dirt but now it's just full of hurt

restless mind feels like it's running out of time, downtime seems like a crime

and it's been harnessed because all our minds are a paradigm of humankind

this is how it is, thoughts whiz at 100 miles per hour until they deflower us from our brainpower
