(004) Thorki
come out and play | Thorki Fluff
Just fluffy gods being Fluffy gods. (There is a sad lack of Thorki fluff on both here and AO3 so I decided to contribute.)
Loki was sitting on the roof of the cottage that he and Thor had moved into on the outskirts of Wakanda after the Endgame. It was the middle of the night, so Loki had carefully crept out and up the wall so as to not wake up Thor. Not that it wasn't practically impossible to wake his brother up at the best of times. He was staring up at the stars, absentmindedly tugging softly at the ends of his long black pyjama sleeves.
He thought about his brother. How much he cared for Thor. How he was never going to leave him ever again, not ever again. How he knew that no matter how much Thor meant to him, he would never mean the same. He thought about Frigga. Loki missed her, even though she wasn't his real mother. This being so, she was still more of a mother than anyone else ever was, and that's what mattered. He thought about all of the battles that he had faced in his lifetime, both physically and mentally. He tugged harder at his sleeves with these thoughts, pulling his knees to his chest and resting his face in his arms.
This position was where Thor found him a few moments later.
"Brother, what are you doing awake so late?" Thor rumbled.
Loki started and looked up at Thor. "Nothing, Brother, simply enjoying the view."
"I don't think you can see the stars hidden in your arms, Loki." Thor smiled. "So what were you really doing?"
Loki sighed heavily. "Thinking. I couldn't sleep."
Thor sat down next to Loki and matched his position, arms resting on top of bent knees and looking up at the stars.
"Midgardian constellations are strange. Very different from Asgard." Thor said absently.
"Indeed," Loki replied simply. He had gone back to resting his chin on his arms, pointedly not looking at Thor, who was sitting far too far away for his liking.
Thor scooted closer to Loki and nudged his shoulder. "What troubles you, Brother? You're awfully quiet."
"Simply thinking of Asgard. Mother. Everything I've gone through."
"It's over now, Brother. We're safe. Do not let your troubles bother you when we have nothing but each other to worry about, alright?" Thor gently wrapped an arm around Loki's waist, pulling the smaller flush with the larger's side.
Startled, Loki's face went blank at the sudden contact and he sat limply for a minute before curling into Thor's side. He sighed dejectedly.
"You're still troubled. Why?" Thor questioned softly.
"I-I can't tell you why, Thor. It's just not right. I shouldn't feel this way, yet somehow, I do. I both hate it and love it at the same time." Loki cursed himself softly for even insinuating his feelings for Thor.
"What is not right? Are you ill? Shall I get the Black King of Panthers?" Thor responded quickly, suddenly worried.
Loki let out a soft chuckle. "No, no. I'm fine."
"Then what is it? You can tell me, I swear that I will not see you any differently, Brother." Thor said.
Loki sighed, then turned so that he was staring Thor straight into his mismatched eyes. "I love you, Thor. It's wrong, and I shouldn't feel this way for you but I can't help myself. I've felt this way for so long and I just can't handle it anymore, not with such close proximity so often."
Thor let out a hearty chuckle. "That's all you're fussing about? Brother, that is regular brotherly love. I do not know much about the Frost Giants, but in Asgard, brothers are allowed to love brothers."
Loki pushed himself out of Thor's arms and stood up. "No, Thor! You don't get it! This isn't simple brotherly love! This is-is-is..romantic love, and it's too wrong! I can't! I'm not allowed to feel this way."
Loki turned away at this, pushing his sleeves up and rubbing his hands over the raised but faded white scars from his youth. This movement calmed him slightly. However, he tensed up again when he felt hands on the backs of his arms. With that touch, tears that he had been holding back finally fell down his pale, slender face. He reached up a hand to cover his mouth, guarding soft sobs. With an almost anime-like sparkle from reflecting the moon, a single teardrop fell onto his exposed arm.
"Loki..." Thor's deep voice broke the thick silence. Without thinking, Loki spun around and buried himself in Thor's chest, his shoulders shaking with sobs. Instantly, Thor's arms were wrapped gently around Loki's small frame.
Swaying them gently, Thor leaned down and pressed a soft kiss to the top of Loki's head.
Loki looked up. "I'm so s-sorry, Brother. I'm s-so, so s-sorry..."
Thor shook his head and leaned down again. Within a fraction of a second, Loki realised what was happening and had just a small moment to panic about what he was going to do, finally deciding on leaning up, letting his eyes flutter shut and meeting Thor in the middle.
It was a small kiss, short and sweet, but it conveyed all of the unsaid words between the two gods. When they pulled away, Thor smiled.
"Loki, there are no problems with you loving me."
"But-but everyone knows that we're brothers! Brothers shouldn't feel for each other as lovers. This isn't Midgardian Alabama." Loki retorted.
Thor seemed confused at this comment but paid no mind to it. "It doesn't matter because our love is true. Besides, we are in no way brothers by blood."
Loki sighed and rested his forehead on Thor's shoulder.
"Loki," Thor said softly. When he didn't look up, Thor guided Loki's chin up with a gentle hand, forcing Loki's soft forest green eyes to meet Thor's brown and blue ones. "Loki, you mean so much to me. I've watched you die too many times, and I will protect you with my life. Be you my brother, my lover, my husband, I will do anything to see you safe. Do not fret over others' thoughts. You can be the beautiful, confident man that I know you are, and if anyone has a problem with you, they can deal with me."
Loki nodded, his eyes still sad. Thor stepped back, holding Loki's hands gently in his. This is when he noticed the scars.
"Loki, what are these?" Thor's tone suddenly darkened.
"They...They're scars," Loki breathed, ashamed of his past actions.
"...Why?" Thor sounded so sad.
"Because I could never live up to Father's expectations, I could never impress you, even when I showed you my magic, you would never ever love me the same way that I love you, the only person who ever cared was Mother, and then she died," Loki spoke quickly, avoiding Thor's gaze.
"Do I need to repeat everything that I just said? Loki, you are fantastic. Your magic is amazing, I could never be as good as you. You mean the Nine Realms and beyond to me." Thor brought Loki's hand up to his mouth and pressed a gentle kiss to his knuckles, his beard softly scratching Loki's smooth hands.
"They're all scars, Thor. None of them are from recently." Loki said.
"Still. I don't like seeing that you've hurt yourself, recently or otherwise."
Loki sighed and shook his head. Thor leaned down for another small kiss, Loki raising onto his tiptoes slightly to meet him again.
"Come, now, my love. It is late, and there's plenty of room in my bed for the both of us." Thor smiled and picked up Loki bridal style, flying them off of the roof of their cottage and walking into their room from the balcony outside of it.
Loki slept soundly for the rest of the night, Thor's rumbly snores and warm arms comforting him and chasing away his regular nightmares.
