You woke up to sunlight peering in through the curtain in your front windows and sat up wondering why you were on the pull out couch and not in your bed. Then you remembered a drunken Kid on your porch last night.

You glanced over at him and giggled. He was out. He was drooling on your pillow, with a thousand cowlicks, and snoring slightly. 'Man he's gonna have a hangover...' you thought. You walked into the (wherever you keep pain meds) and grabbed some pain reliever.

You walk back in to find a still KO-ed Kid, so you left the pills on the coffee table next to him. Chewbacca decided to make an appearance as you felt a rumbling in your stomach.

'I'll go make toast' you decided, so you trudged into the kitchen and put some slices of bread in the toaster. You heard Kid shout from the other room "(Y/n)? (Y/n) where are you?".

'So he remembers at least that much' you thought. You walked back in the living room "So, I see sleeping beauty's finally up" you joked. Kid was rubbing his head, and you questioned "How do you feel?" He whimpered "Like I got hit by a freight train." You sighed "Take the pills, and drink the water. You'll feel better." With that you walked into the kitchen and started preparing the toast.

You could hear commotion then footsteps. "(Y/n)... about last night-" You turned around and cut him off thinking he was gonna try to let you down easy "No, it's okay you don't have to explain. I understand they were just late night drunken ramblings." You turned back around and went on with the toast.

You felt a presence lean on the counter next to you "Actually, I was going to say I'm happy I said what I said last night. The nights were mainly made for saying things you can't say tomorrow." 

You were confused.

"Why would a shinigami like you want anything to do with me?" He sighed and rested his head on his hands, facing you "I fell in love with you the first time I saw you walk through the doors of the DWMA. I don't know what it was about you, I mean you're asymmetrical, but once a shinigami is in love they can't love anyone else. I was trying to deny my feelings and suffocate them ever since we met because I thought Liz and I were meant to be, seeing as everyone else thought so too. But now I realize I was just lying to myself and everyone else. It's you I love. Its you that the fates decided I would spend the rest of my life with..." he looked away and sighed again.

"Will you be my girlfriend (y/n)?" You were slightly stunned that he had felt this way for so long and no one noticed or told you. "Of course I will Kid!" you turned and hugged him. "You will?!" he asked shocked "Oh that's good news I was so scared you would say no!"he chuckled "You were scared? I've liked you ever since I've met you and didn't know quite how to go about it but I'm happy you told me." And with that confession you two sat down and ate some freakin' delicious toast.
