Chapter 6 - Drunken
October 3, 1998 - Episode 2 of Saturday Night Live
I hopped into my car, and drove to NBC Studios. Lorne called me the day after the hospital crisis and said that I won't be suspended. But if anything like that happens, I will be suspended for a month.
Tonight, Kelsey Grammar is hosting. I'm a miniature character in a couple of sketches.
I walked right to the ladies dressing room. It was 11:12 p.m. already. We practiced the whole show a few times. Today flew by.
"Fifteen minutes!" Lorne shouted in the ladies dressing room. I put a little more blush on my cheeks. I ran my fingers through my hair, and walked backstage. I immediately saw Jimmy, I walked over to him. I tapped him on the shoulder, and he jumped in fear. I laughed, "Your jumpy." Jimmy smirked, and looked me in the eye. "You look great." He said, looking at my outfit. I blushed.
I spent most of the show backstage. All of the sketches I was in were already over. I went out for the closure. Everyone hugged each other, and then we all went backstage for the after party. I got a red solo cup and filled it with Ginger Ale. I have never been a big alcohol drinker, even when I turned 21.
"Malina!" I heard a voice say. I turned around, and saw Ana. I smiled, "Hey." I took a sip of my Ginger Ale, and walked over to Ana. "I heard what happened, and I thought it was really sweet of you to do that for Jimmy." Ana said. I looked around, my lips rubbed together. "Thanks." I said back. I really didn't want to talk about that.
Ana and I talked about our personal lives, and our hobbies for the rest of the party. But then, Will Ferrell came up to me with Jimmy. Who was losing his balance, and his eyes were barely open. "Malina, I thought I should come to you because Jimmy is pretty wasted." Will said. I pushed a lock of my dark brown hair behind my ear, and put my hand on my head in frustration. "Thanks, Will. I'll take it from here." I said, and held his hand. "Sorry, I'll talk to you at the next rehearsal." I said to Ana. She nodded.
"You can crash at my place if you want." I said. I don't think Jimmy was even paying attention, but he nodded. "Okay." He said back. We walked out to my car, and got in. "Okay, don't puke in my car." I said. Jimmy slightly giggled.
We walked into my house. "You can lay down on the couch if you want." I said as Jimmy plops down on the couch. His eyelids were hanging. "I have a pair plaid pajama pants that are way too big for me if you want to wear them. Sleeping in jeans will be uncomfortable." I said. Jimmy ran his fingers through his hair, and shook his head. "It's okay." He said, I raised an eyebrow. Okay then, because sleeping in jeans is very comfortable.
"Alright. Just lie down and go to sleep. Yell if you need anything." I said. Jimmy nodded, and sat back. "I'm sorry." Jimmy said. I giggled, "Don't be. You won't remember anything by morning." I said. I walked upstairs and got into my pajamas. I drifted to sleep.
I woke up the next morning a little later than usual. I walked downstairs to check on Jimmy, who was sitting up shirtless. I have to be honest, it was a pretty sight. Jimmy noticed me and smiled, "Hey." He said. All I could focus on was him being shirtless. I think I sort've zoned out. "Hello?" Jimmy waved his hand in front of me. I shot my head up. Jimmy smirked, I'm sure he knew I was staring at him.
"Oh sorry, um, hi." I said quickly. I stared again.
"Sorry about last night. Thanks for letting me crash, though. I was worried I was going to have a wicked hangover." Jimmy said. I laughed, and crossed my arms. "No, seriously. It's fine." I said. I looked around as we sat in silence. "Do you want any breakfast?" I asked. Jimmy smirked and raised an eyebrow, "It's up to you." I smiled, and walked to the kitchen. I got out a pan and four eggs.
My method has always been that I listen to fast songs when I cook. It has always helped me think better. My disc man is always set on the kitchen. "Hey Jimmy, do you care that I turn on some music? It's a long story." I said with a laugh. Jimmy smiled, "I'm going to guess that's your cooking method?" I nodded. "Yeah, same here." Jimmy continued. My jaw dropped, "What do you listen to?" I asked. I could see Jimmy's tongue roll around in his mouth. "Get Jiggy With It." My jaw dropper even lower. My eyes widened, "Your joking!" I said. Jimmy tried to hold his laugh in, but failed. "Not joking one bit. That song never fails to pump me up." I laughed.
Wow. Was he my soulmate or something?
I went over to my disc man, and turned it on. Jimmy laughed so hard that his head tilted back.
I cracked an egg, and put it in the pan. Jimmy and I were dancing with the beat, and cooking at the same time. We were cracking up until literally no sound was coming out of us. "You are the best person I've ever met." I said, still giggly. Jimmy smiled, and gave me a sexy wink.
