Chapter 4 - Someone Saw Us

I rushed into Studio 8H the very next day for rehearsal. I was still confused, I still couldn't believe what happened last night. I've been trying to convince myself that it was just a mistake, but it really wasn't.

I was 10 minutes late to rehearsal. I ran down the hall into the door that led to the stage. I saw Will Ferrell and Chris Kattan talking onstage. I ran to the ladies dressing room to make sure I didn't look like a piece of shit.

I saw Ana Gasteyer putting in little silver hoop earrings on. She noticed me and smiled, "Hey! Do you mind if I talk to you for a moment?" Ana asked. I nodded. I slowly walked toward her. "So, how are you liking this whole thing? Any cute cast members your into so far?" Ana asked, we both laughed. "No." I said.

I swear, if she saw me and Jimmy...

"You don't have to lie to me! I saw you and Jimmy out in the parking lot sucking on each other's lips!" Ana said. My heart fell to my stomach. I knew it.

"Oh, um, no. That was-that was a mistake." I said. I have always been the worst liar in history. Ana raised an eyebrow, unconvinced. "You looked like you were pretty into it. I mean, I'm sorry. I don't want to pressure you about it." She said. My heart started beating fast. Oh no, my anxiety was coming. "It's okay. Jimmy and I were really tired. We didn't know what we were doing." Ana still didn't believe me. I took a deep breath. "Believe me. It wasn't meant to happen." I explained. I cleared my throat, and walked out before my anxiety hit the climax that made me nauseous.

As the rehearsal went on, Jimmy never showed up. I started to get worried. After rehearsal ended, I ran to Lorne. "Hey Lorne, do you know where Jimmy is?" I asked. Lorne turned around, and shook his head. "I haven't heard anything from him. Sorry." Lorne said. I turned around, and ran for my phone. I started to dial his number, until Ana ran up to me. She had a worried expression, "Malina, Jimmy just called NBC, he got into a car crash." Ana said. My heart dropped to my stomach. I nearly collapsed on the floor in shock. "Where is he?" I asked quickly. "I think he said he was at the hospital right around the block. I'm not sure what it's called." Ana explained. "Thanks." I said, and ran as fast as I could.

I ran down the hall, not caring if I bumped into someone. Lorne noticed me, and his eyes widened. "Malina?"

I didn't stop, I kept running. I ran to my car, but noticed that the road was going slow because of construction. I decided to just run.

I ran to the hospital without stopping. I walked up to the counter. "Excuse me, do you guys have a James Fallon here?" I asked. The lady that was at the desk looked at the list of patients. "Are you family?" She asked. I knew she was going to ask that.

"No. But can I please see him? I'm a really close friend and-" I said really quickly. she interrupted me. "Sorry, family only." She said. I bit my lip in frustration. I made a run for it. "Excuse me, miss!" The lady shouted.

I asked a doctor that was walking down the hallway if he knew where Jimmy was. Luckily, he was one of Jimmy's doctors. I ran to his room, and quietly opened the door.

Jimmy was passed out with oxygen tubes in his nose. My eyes filled up with tears. I tip-toed over to him, and pulled a chair next to him. His eyes moved. Shit, I woke him up.

"Malina?" He whispered. I smiled and nodded, "Yeah. It's me." I said. His eyes were squinted. He did his famous smirk as much as he could. "What the hell happened?" I asked. Jimmy sat up and rubbed his hair. "I was driving home last night, and a car was in the wrong lane. It came toward me, and smashed into my car." Jimmy explained. I felt so bad. I had so many questions to ask him. "Any broken bones?"

Jimmy shook his head, "Surprisingly, no. I only have severe cuts and bruises." I took a heavy breath. I squeezed his hand. I was so scared. He could've...died. Someone knocked on the door, and came in. It was a nurse. She noticed me with a confused face, "Who's this?" She asked. Jimmy rubbed his lips together. "She's my wi-" I knew he was going to say wife. I squeezed his wrist as hard as I could. He groaned, laid his head back with air in his cheeks. "I'm his sister." I said, slowly letting go of his wrist. The nurse nodded. She looked unconvinced.

She went beside Jimmy with a clipboard. "Okay, Mr. Fallon, we think that you might be able to leave today. Let me check your pulse." She looked at his heart rate. "Alright, your good to go." She said. She unhooked the IV fluids needle out of his arm, and took out his oxygen tubes. Jimmy got up, "I'll be right back." He went into the bathroom to change.

"Do you need a ride home?" I asked when Jimmy came out. "You don't have to." Jimmy said. I raised an eyebrow, "How are you going to get home?" I asked. Jimmy looked at me, and smirked. "Okay."

When we walked out to the hallway, I remembered that I went into Jimmy's room even though it was family only. I tried to walk out like a normal person. "Who said you were leaving?" Someone said. I turned around. It was security. I looked back at Jimmy. He looked at me, his eyebrows crinkled.
