Chapter 37 - Anxiety

I took a deep breath as I looked in the mirror, making sure I didn't look ridiculous. Today, I was being interviewed by the Jay Leno.
I walked backstage, and looked at the time. I had ten minutes before I had go on. Jimmy was backstage, but I wasn't sure where he was.
The show started, and Jay did his monologue, what not. Then, it was commercial break.
"You're on in two minutes," Jay said once he walked backstage. I nodded.

"Our first guest tonight is a featured Saturday Night Live cast member. Please welcome, Malina McCullough!" Jay said once commercial break was over. Jimmy pecked me on the lips. "Break a leg babe!" Jimmy said enthusiastically.
I raised an eyebrow. "Jimmy, I'm not doing a Broadway show, but thanks." I gave him a wink, and walked out.
Jay gave me a hug, and I sat down.
"Hi! How are you doing, Malina?" Jay asked me. I was so nervous. I was fidgeting with my fingers.
"I'm doing good!" I replied.
"Aright, let's get to SNL here. So, how's everything been going? Do you have an exciting sketches coming up next Saturday?"
"Not really. Um, this week I'm pretty much just playing minor characters." I explained.
"Oh, okay. And...there's also been a lot of news about you. You've been shot recently?" When Jay asked that, I started to panic. I knew he was going to ask who or why I got shot.
"Yeah," I showed the audience my bandage, that I didn't want to take off otherwise the whole audience will be hurling. I laughed, trying to hide my anxiety.
"How-why did you get shot?" I knew it.
No words would come out of my mouth, only a small squeak. What was I supposed to say?
"I don't know." Was all I could say.
"Who shot you?"
"An anonymous person." That was the truth, after all.
"So, a total stranger shot you?" Jay asked. Oh my god, just let it go.
"Mhm," I murmured. "I have no idea who did it."
The whole audience was silent. I hope I didn't give out too much information-a little can go a long way.

As the interview went on, we talked a little more about SNL, and that was pretty much it.
I went backstage to Jimmy, who was in the dressing room watching the show.
We both exchanged an uneasy glance. "That was really close," Jimmy said, taking a relieved sigh.
"Yeah,"
"However, good job out there. You're such a doll face." Jimmy pinched my
cheeks. I blushed.
Then, my phone buzzed. I pulled out my phone from my pocket, and looker at the I.D.
Blocked I.D.
"No..." I muttered. Jimmy smile faded, and he looked on my phone screen.
Jimmy read the text. "Oh no..."

You're lucky you kept your mouth closed about me on that interview. Tell anyone about me, I tell everyone you murdered two people.

I was in deep trouble.
