Chapter 32 - You Heal My Heart
*Jimmy's POV*
My heart hurt seeing that. Getting a shock into Malina's heart was painful to watch.
"Excuse me sir, can you go back into the waiting room?" A doctor asked me, pointing to the waiting room.
"Does she have a chance of living?" I asked, ignoring her question.
"I don't know. It's probably half and half. She has a half chance of living, half chance of dying."
I nodded in understanding, and walked to the waiting room.
Ana was reading a magazine, but when she heard me she put her magazine down. "How is she?"
I sat down, and took a deep breath. "Well, she's not awake. But then her heart stopped beating and they had to put defibrillators on her."
Ana's jaw dropped, and she put both her hands to her mouth. "Oh my god, that poor girl."
"I know, I miss her. So much." I bit my lip so hard that I tasted blood, trying to fight the urge to cry.
"I know you do. She's gonna get through this, I promise." Ana gave me an assuring smile.
*Malina's POV*
When I opened my eyes, my vision was hazy. There's was a sharp pain in my forearm.
"Shit!" I wailed in agony. I looked toward my forearm, and saw a bandage wrapped around it. What is going on?
Then, it hit me.
"Listen up!" I yelled. "Whoever you are, we would appreciate it if you would take off your mask, and show us your identity. That's the easy way, and if I were you, I would do it that way. The hard way is we take you down. We're armed, and we catch fast moves. Take off your mask!" Jimmy aimed his gun at the person, too. But, the person just stood there.
"Take it off!" I screamed. "I'm about to pull the trigger!"
Still nothing.
"You chose the hard way," I was about to pull the trigger, but then the person pulled out a gun, and I heard a gun shot. There was a sharp pain around my forearm. At first I whimpered, then I wailed in agony.
Suddenly, I couldn't hear anything, as if I became deaf.
"Malina!" Jimmy yelled. His voice echoed in my head. The whole world blacked out.
Anonymous agreed to meet me and Jimmy to reveal their real identity, but they shot me. That's what happened.
A female doctor rushed into my room. She must've heard me yell in pain.
"Hi, how are you feeling today?" She asked with a warm smile.
"I don't know, I just woke up." I said. I wonder what Jimmy was doing right now.
"There are two people here to see you, do you want me to bring them in?" The doctor asked.
"Uh, sure."
After a few minutes, two people walked in.
Speaking of the devil, Jimmy was here. And behind him was Ana Gasteyer.
Jimmy ran over to me, and sat in a chair next to me.
"Are you okay?" Jimmy asked sincerely. I smiled like an idiot, I was so happy he was here.
"I'm perfect now," We both chuckled.
I looked at Ana, and smiled at her. "Hey!"
"Hi! What's up?" Ana asked.
"Just woke up." I giggled. Everything suddenly seemed perfect now that Jimmy was here. He never failed to make me happy.
Just then, the same doctor walked in again.
"So, Ms. McCullough, I just want to give you a quick update on how you're doing." She checked her clipboard, and looked up again. "You're a very lucky person, because when we performed surgery, we got the bullet out of your forearm in time." The doctor took off my bandage, and checked my wound. Just looking at my wound made it hurt.
"You're wound is already healing. You'll be out of here in no time, probably tomorrow at the latest. The bullet didn't hit any arteries, which is good." Thank god. "Okay, I'll come back later and check on that wound again and see how it's healing. The amount of time until you go home really depends on how it heals." Then, she left without another word.
"That's really good! Thank god." Jimmy said, smiling from ear to ear.
"I know!" I squealed, and squeezed his hand tighter.
"I'll let you two be alone, okay? Call me if you need anything." Ana said. I nodded in understanding, then she left.
"Do you wanna come sit with me? This is a big ass bed." Jimmy and I laughed, then he laid next to me. We both drifted to sleep.

The next morning, I woke up with my arms around Jimmy. I stood up, and looked at him. He looked like an angel when he was sleeping.
As if on cue, the same doctor walked in.
"Hi, how are you feeling Ms. McCullough?" She asked, unwrapping my bandage. My wound actually looked like it was healing.
"Oh, your wound looks great! Definitely healing. I think I could release you right now." Now? My eyes sparkled with delight.
"But no promises right now. I have to ask the boss and see what he thinks. He's the professional here." She chuckled, and walked out the door.
When she got back, she unhooked my IV fluids.
"He said you are free to go," The doctor said with a big smile. I looked back at Jimmy, who was still sleeping.
"So, uh, go ahead and get changed into your clothes, they're over there on the chair." She pointed to the chair at the foot of my hospital bed.
I got up, and went into the bathroom. I changed into my clothes, and walked back out.
Jimmy was still sleeping like an angel. He is a gift from God.
"Jimmy," I said. He shot up, and looked at me.
"Are they releasing you?" Jimmy asked, rubbing his messy hair.
"Yeah." I responded. Jimmy stood up, and led me out the door.
We got to the car, and put on our seat belts. It felt good to be out of here.
"Oh yeah, um, there's SNL rehearsal today, do you feel like going? 'Cause I can tell Lorne that you don't feel like going, he'll understand." Jimmy explained while keeping his eyes on the road.
"I'll go, I'm not feeling that bad." I said assuringly.
***
When we got to NBC Studios, me and Jimmy held hands, and walked in.
Everybody had their eyes on us.
There we were, with slight ash burns on our arms from the fire, the big bandage around my forearm, scratches and cuts on our faces.
Battle scars.
