Chapter 31 - Stay Alive
*Jimmy's POV*
Once we got to the hospital, the paramedics told me that I couldn't see Malina until they were done performing surgery to get the bullet out of her arm.
I was worried sick. Luckily, the bullet didn't get Malina anywhere near her heart or brain.
I sat down in one of the chairs in the waiting room, and looked at the TV. To my surprise, what had just happened with me and Malina was on.
"In the parking lot at Richardson Mall in Manhattan, the viral relationship between two Saturday Night Live cast members, Malina McCullough and Jimmy Fallon, were involved in a shooting. An anonymous person allegedly shot Malina in the forearm. She was taken to a medical center, and is currently in surgery. We will keep you updated on the story once we are." A girl news anchor with blue-black hair said.
It was almost eight o'clock at night. Hopefully Malina will get out of surgery before it's too late, because I doubt these people will let me stay the night with her.
Then, someone rushed in the door. I looked over to see who it was, and I saw Ana Gasteyer with a petrified expression on her face. She looked around, then noticed me.
"Jimmy! How's Malina?" Ana said, sitting in the chair next to me.
"I don't know, she's still in surgery." I replied, running my fingers through my messy hair. I was sick of this person messing with us; I needed to figure out who it was.
"How are you doing? Are you okay?" And put her hand on my leg with a sincere look on her face.
"I'm okay," I said.
"Do you care that I'm here?" Ana asked.
"No, not at all." I said, trying to force a smile. I wasn't doing okay at all. I couldn't wait until the day me and Malina can finally live at peace. What if she dies? That's the thing I'm petrified of.
"I'm so sorry about Malina," Ana said with a concerned look on her face.
"It's fine, it's not your fault." I responded.
For the last two hours, me and Ana have been talking. She kept going on and on about how cool the chemistry is between me and Malina.
"Mr. Fallon?" A doctor said. I jumped up, and walked to him.
"Malina just got out of surgery. She's not awake at the moment, but do you want to see her?"
"Yes please,"
I looked back at Ana. "Do you want to come?"
"No, it's okay. I'll let you guys have a moment alone." She said with an assuring smile.
The doctor led me to a hospital room. I saw Malina with a bandage around her forearm, and an oxygen mask on her face. God, I hated to see her suffer like this.
"I'll let you guys have a moment alone," The doctor said, and walked out of the room.
I pulled a chair next to Malina's bed, and held her hand.
"Hey Lina Bean, uh, I know you can't hear this, but I wanted to tell you that I love you more than anything in this world. No matter what happens, I wouldn't rather be with anyone else but you. Please, try your best to stay alive. I need you in my life. If you don't make it, I wouldn't want to live anymore. You're the love of my life, Malina, no doubt. This hell that this anonymous person is putting us through, is making our bond stronger. No matter what this person does, I don't care as long as we stick together throughout. We start together, we finish together. And that's all." My eyes started to well up. "You can do it, Lina Bean. You can push through this, I know it. You're the most fearless person I've ever met."
I sat in silence, until there was a noise coming from a machine. I looked up with an eyebrow raised, and noticed it was her heart monitor.
It was flat.
My eyes widened, and I raced out of the room to the hallway.
"I NEED A DOCTOR RIGHT NOW!" I yelled. A group of doctors rushed into the room.
They got out defibrillators, and shocked her heart, trying to get it to beat again.
That was really painful to see.
Please Malina, stay alive.
