Chapter 14 - Dopplegänger
Note: This chapter is going to be a BIT different! It may creep you out, but anyways, enjoy!
When I opened my eyes, I was in a room I've never seen before. Boring colored walls, and I was laying in a twin bed. I rubbed my hair, and stood up. When I stood up, I felt dizzy, and nearly fell over. Then, I saw a white flash go across the room.
Within seconds, I saw a doppelgänger of myself. Same hair color, eye color, and she was copying my moves. I cocked my head, and at the same second, she did too.
"What you did was wrong," My doppelgänger said to me, cocking her head.
"Do what wrong?" I took a few steps back until I bumped into the twin bed.
"Oh, you know what I mean." My doppelgänger smirked, and cocked her head again. Suddenly, it hit me. She was talking about how I shot my kidnapper.
"He was about to hurt me," I assured her.
She gave me a smile, and held up a butcher's knife. It was a really big knife. My doppelgänger studied it, and looked back at me.
"You believe in karma, don't you?" She asked, examining the knife.
"Who are you?" I asked her.
"I'm you." She assured me. Well, duh.
"Don't kill me," I said, taking a few steps back.
"You're already dead." She said, and cocked her head behind me. I whirled around, and saw myself laying on the bed, blood oozing out of my chest. I turned back to my doppelgänger, and gave her a worried face.
She slowly walked over to me, and held up the knife. The knife landed on my chest, and that's when I woke up.
I shot up in the hospital chair. I was sweating massively. I looked to my side, and saw Jimmy kneeling next to me with an eyebrow raised.
"Dude, are you okay?" Jimmy asked, letting out a chuckle.
"Yeah," I put my hand on my forehead, and tried to calm myself down.
"What happened? Why did you pass out?" I asked, looking over at him.
"I passed out from massive stress." Jimmy looked down, then back up at me. "They said that the man who abducted you had a bullet in his abdomen, did you do that?" I started to have massive anxiety, I knew Jimmy was going to hate me forever. I knew it was the wrong thing to do, I should've trusted my instincts.
"Yeah, Jimmy please don't be mad. He was going to hurt me and-" Jimmy cut me off.
"I'm not mad! You were defending yourself, Malina. There's no crime in that, and they aren't going to charge you or bring you to jail or anything." Jimmy chuckled, and pushed stray hairs out of my face. "No worries, let's go home, okay?"
"How long have we been here?" I asked, ignoring what Jimmy had just said.
"Uh, like, 16 hours maybe." Jimmy replied. "Why?"
"Just curious," I responded. "Let's go."
