C7: Playful Fate
Hello again guys! I literally woke up on the right side of bed because I have an inspiration to write another chapter on this story. Hope you enjoy reading it! Thanks in advance guys!
Allison's POV
There I was, waiting for our driver to fix the flat tire. Why is it taking so long?
"Isn't it done yet?"
Our driver looked at me with a smile and nodded.
"Let's go then, my bestfriend needs me."
"Okay Miss." He replied to me.
I proceeded to get in the car and the driver started the engine.
It took us another ten minutes to get to the hospital where Alliah's mother was confined. The driver opened the door and I immediately went to the information to ask.
"Hi, where's the room of Mrs. Anderson. The one rushed here maybe late this afternoon. "
The one at information looked at her log book and smiled.
"Oh, Mrs. Anderson's room is located on the 3rd floor room 316."
I said thanks and told my driver to go buy a basket of fruit and follow me on the 3rd floor on room 316.
Then I went on my way to the 3rd floor where the nurse told me where Mrs. Anderson was.
When I was on the second floor, my phone rang and I was shocked to see who was calling
It was my dad. I answered the phone and said hello.
"Hello, honey? I was told that you had a flat tire on the way?
I said yes but I was fine and there was nothing to be worried about.
"That's good to hear. Say hello to your friend, Alliah for me, okay? Say that everything is going to be fine."
"Okay dad, I will. Thanks for the call dad."
Right then I ended the call. He's so thoughtful and always considerate when it comes to this things.
I remember that when me and Alliah fight. My dad would be the one who always talks to us that we should make up again because in the end we are still bestfriends.
Until now me and Alliah fight but seldomly and my dad would either talk to me or to Alliah. And in the end we still make up and we always hug it out.
In a way she's like a sister to me, not through blood but through bond. Through our friendship, I could feel that we're like true sister's.
When I went up to the room. I knocked first and I heard someone say come in.
I opened the door and saw Mrs. Anderson greeting me with a warm smile. But through that smile I could see exhaustion and pain.
I smiled at her right back but I could feel a tiny pinch in my heart because I know that she's still not okay.
"Hi auntie. Uhmm... Sorry for asking but where's Alliah? Is she here?"
"She's just in the bathroom, freshening up. Let's wait for her. How you've been Allison?"
I could see that she's still weak so I need to wrap this conversation up. She needs to rest.
"Oh... I see. I'm still the same talkative, beautiful and lovable person that you know and love."
We both laughed and smiled.
"Yes, you still are the same."
Right then Alliah went out of the bathroom and we both hugged.
"Allison you're here. Wait, how did you know that we we're here? I mean, I didn't get the chance to text or call you because I left my phone at our house."
I just smiled at her and told her that they're neighbours told me where they were.
I heard something. It was the rumbling of someone's tummy. It was Alliah.
"Hmmm... I think there someone who hadn't eaten yet. Auntie, Alliah what would you want for dinner? I'll get my driver to get us food that you like, what do you like?"
Right then I got my phone and started to dial my driver's number. I was stopped in the middle of my dialing.
" Allison, no. It's too much to ask, we'll buy our own food. You don't need to worry. We we're just busy."
Auntie agreed to what Alliah said but I still insisted.
" No, it's okay. Besides I'm also hungry. I want to catch up with my bestie and my beautiful aunt here."
We all laughed loudly and in the end they agreed to my idea but they said it was up to me.
" Sweet and savory it is! Hello, can you buy food for three. From sweet and savory. Buy the best thing that they could offer and charge it on my debit."
They we're both shy for a minute because of this. They didn't know what to say. I breaked the silence between us three.
" Don't worry it's my treat. Next time when I'll go to your house, I'll be expecting a good Kare-kare. Okay?"
[A/N: Gusto ko ng kare-kare ngayon. HAHAHAHAHA]
They agreed and we started to talk casually.
"I'll make you the best Kare-kare. Just come over our house anytime you want dear."
Righ then, my driver opened the door with the stuffs I said he should buy.
" Here's money for your dinner. Buy anything you want. Just wait for my call, I'll call you if we're going to go home"
I gave him the money and he went out.
"Oh. I forgot here something for you auntie. A little gift, I'll place it here on the table."
She looked at me with a smile.
"Allison, it's already too much. You shouldn't have."
"It's okay. Don't think about it that much."
I looked at the plastic with food and looked at them with a smile
"It seems yummy. Let's eat!" I said with a smile
I started to get the food to place it on the containers I asked.
While we were eating we chatted a little and laughed. It's kind of a bonding. I noticed something, something was bothering Alliah.
I know something's bothering her. After we ate, I tried to call her for a minute.
"Alliah, can we talk for a minute."
I asked if we could go out for a few minutes which she said yes.
"What's the problem, Alliah? I know that you have a problem, I could feel it. Now spill it out."
She looked at me and sighed. She looks worried. Tears started to fall from her eyes.
"My mom she has...

She has cancer."
We both shrugged and I comforted her. She was still crying. I don't know what to do to ease her.
"Don't worry. Everything will be okay. Just have trust."
I don't know what to do but for now, all I can do is to comfort her.
"I have one more thing to say. I saw..."

"It's you... It's

You from Allison's birthday. It's you isn't it?"
He paused for a minute. He was looking at me like he was remembering who I was.
Wait. He's in a doctor's coat and with a stethoscope. He's a doctor, who knew we would meet again.
I remember that he left me after he saved me from those guys.
"You were the one who saved me."
He looked at me once more. Darn those freakin' blue eyes, I think I would melt through those stares.
I remembered everything that happened at Allison's party again for a minute.
"Oh, that's right. Sorry that I walked out on you, so let me introduce myself. I am Dr. Cross Harisson. And as of right now, I am the assigned doctor of your mother."
I was surprised that he was the doctor assigned to my mother. Of all places, we met here at the hospital.
In a snap he became serious again. He returned to check the paper on his hand.
"Ms. Alliah, is it?"
"Yes, I am."
He started to have an expression on his face. It was somewhat undescribable.
"Can we talk outside for a minute? This is about the patients current state."
I said sure and we went outside for a minute. I said to my mom to wait for me.
"Ms. Anderson, I don't know how to say this... You might want to sit down."
This I did and he continued to check the papers on his hand. Turning it page by page.
"Your mother's current state is not something we can say, we can be at ease about. Well... She has cancer. "
What? Did I hear it right? Did he say cancer?
No... No... I heard it wrong.
"Could you repeat what you said? I kind of heard cancer. My hearings wrong, right?"
He looked at me with no emotion on his face.
"No you heard it right. Your mother has cancer, Ms. Anderson. To be more precise, Acute lymphocytic leukemia (ALL), also called acute lymphoblastic leukemia. Well this is a cancer that starts from the early version of white blood cells called lymphocytes in the bone marrow. Now I'll give you a little more time, so you could think. I'll be telling you the treatment needed some other time. For now, you just have to face the fact that your mother is going through a tough time right now."
I didn't know what to say. I don't know what to do. I started to feel some tears dripping from my eyes.
Then he started to pat me on the back. After that he tried to hug me. I know he's only comforting me but I don't need it. I'm confused right now.
"There, there everything's going to be alright."
I can't believe it that of all the people. Why does my mother have to suffer? Why didn't it happen to me instead.
All I know for now is that I should be strong not only for me but also for my mother.
