Chapter XIII || Enid pov: A Choice, to Be Made, to Be Made Not

"Sitting next to my two friends, former and current, I held my legs close to my chest and watched, it felt like I was watching a sight I'll never see again, it was in fact like that, I was watching Bianca with the first aid kit found in the trunk of the abandoned car, she was carefully wrapping bandages all over Yoko's body. It was disturbing to watch, the blood stopped pouring out long ago. It certainly wasn't normal for either of us to care so much for everything.

It was hard for us to care anyway, not only was it hard, it was definitely not worth doing. Bianca was good at what she was doing, she was tugging and pulling the bandages tight and hard. None of the two of us really cared if this waste of oxygen died, though. It was best for us to assume that Tyler and Wednesday were back at the abandoned car. I watched the uncomfortable scene of medical work, Yoko seemed awfully calm despite what's happening, apparently she didn't care about chasing after any of us anymore.

It was a relief, however, my fear of Bianca began to grow, every time I looked at her, I tried to imagine what a nightmare her relationship with her patient was like. It was horrifying to think about. Before the five of us were reunited, the two of them were anonymous for a while, they were known as muted voices through the many trees of the forest, my other friends, braided and the beast, gave them nicknames 'the one in rage' and 'the one in pain'. Two beautiful minds, a strong, independent goth girl and a manipulative monster, such creative nicknames, as their friend, I'll not ignore the horrible nicknames they gave those two.

Before everything, Yoko and Bianca were together for a while, I suppose they might have bonded and Bianca sucked information out of Yoko, I do not know if either of them cared for each other, but all I know is that we confiscated her gun and she is not that big of a threat to us anymore. Although it might've been a danger to us all since Bianca befriended this mischievous piece of human garbage. I hope she didn't turn to the dark side, although I doubt that she would ever do anything like that. It was awfully hard for me, but I managed to accept Yoko, I won't be welcoming her to the group, though.

I looked at Bianca, Yoko was not only in physical but also mental pain right now, I bet she has the urge to thank Bianca for making her slow death socially awkward. Bianca was uncomfortable with the situation as well, but she desperately wanted to trust Yoko, I had no idea what our priority was. When she was working on her wounds she began to speak without making eye contact, she was obviously trying to make us all forget about what was going on, she was still reminding me of who Yoko really was, 'Yoko, when you were at Nevermore and still working for Lauren, did you befriend Enid when her relationship with Wednesday was weak, twisted and vulnerable because you wanted to slowly take her allies apart?'.

What the damn fuck was wrong with you Bianca? I almost choked on my spit, hearing you say that, she probably did befriend me as part of the plan, but luckily she didn't answer her question, she scooched back up a bit, I could only assume her scooching was for self-defense, after a few seconds, Bianca kept talking, god damn it, woman pull yourself together. 'Fun fact, Yoko, Yakuza members tie bandages around their waists before battle so that their organs dont fall out when they get stabbed.'. It didn't make things worse, but it was depressing to hear, its not a bad fact, it wasn't random either.

Yoko and I were both glaring at her now, god knows what else is going to come out of that mouth, I had enough of this nonsense. 'Fun fact, female hyenas have a small penis-'. There goes my interest in this so called conversation, she's trying, she's trying to try. Neither of us had to know that. Eventually she was done with everything, god bless, I asked her if she could stand up, and she could, I wouldn't really call it a miracle or anything, but she could.

We went back to our little car area, getting ready to tell Wednesday and Tyler about everything, I wanted to keep Yoko as a dog or something, but Bianca sees her as a human and decided not to be strict around her. Apparently she promised that if she healed her wounds she'll practically own her, but she's not really taking advantage of the word 'own'. I never wanted to welcome Yoko anywhere near us, but I didn't really have much of a choice, I only accepted things because I thought she would come in handy.

***

As it turns out, Wednesday and Tyler had special news of their own, I was pretty happy about everything. I was rooting for them to get together, but I was disappointed when I found out Tyler didn't want anything out of it. It was quite a surprise, although I frankly didn't enjoy as much as I thought I would. I always thought they were meant to be together. Wednesday didn't seem to care much, but Tyler surely did, he was willing to do anything to stop feeling so guilty, I tried my best to help him with his situation, it wa not like her but Bianca slowly walked out on it and Yoko stepped in.

'I've got to say, I'm not excited about being with you crapbags, but you do have it made, check out what I found in the driver's seat.' Yoko pulled out a lighter and clicked the button a few times, Tyler and I looked at her picturing the chaos we're going to go through with her nonsense, we definitely didn't care that there was a lighter in the driver's seat. She looked at Tyler, 'You know, you could really use some of my advice, here.' We looked at her in disbelief. 'I'm just saying...if you are struggling with something, you should just end it, make everything come to a stop, freeze time for all I care. Nothing violent, though, you can't just kill her. You can just...pause.'.

Tyler spoke up, 'Pause? As in get knocked into a coma?' Yoko chuckled at his sarcastic comment, such an annoying response, 'What a bold idea, sadly, no, that's not it. I'm just saying, you can't give up on a tough spot, but you can restart so you don't make the same mistakes again, pause and restart.' We thought about it for a second, 'So, amnesia?'. Yoko let out a laugh 'No, all you have to do is end an era. For example, when a book ends, there's a sequel, it's completely different, however the first book won't be forgotten, it'll just be finished.'.

Tyler seemed curious about her idea, it sounded horrid but I didn't blame him, I would be pretty desperate too and I did show tons of interest. 'How exactly does one end an era?' We asked. 'Now that you asked, I hope you remember me saying that violence wouldn't be necessary here, I would just be needing a bit of destruction.' She look at us, her eyes were fierce, her smile was warm, her expression didn't make sense but she was still judging everyone, 'I suppose all we need is a little bit of fire.' She said, pushing the button of the lighter. Tyler stuttered, 'You want me to destroyed the forest by setting it to flames.' Yoko grinned brightly, 'Huzzah, yes! And no one will know it's you.'.

I stood up and look down at her, she was in an open position, her legs were crossed, her movements were pissing me off, 'Why should he listen to you?' I asked, trying to understand what her intentions were. 'Well, that's easy, no one has better advice, I've been controlling him the longest, I'm trying my best here and I'm bored.'. Tyler clearly didn't have any reason to listen to her, but if she was right about one thing, it the fact that no one had better advice. I wanted to end her yapping and set her face on fire.

She bent down tossed him the lighter, 'It won't be the end, because you know that in the end, it's going to be alright, if it's not alright then it's not the end yet, ending may not be your choice to make, but pausing can be, pause and we'll continue, take advantage of what the end is. Once an era comes to an end, neither of you would even care about what happened between you. Think about it, it's happened before, wasn't it paused when Laurel was killed? Was that not the end of an era? Don't worry, the end of an era is the start of another, because its never an end, its always a pause, now listen to me and set it to flames.'

The two of us paused for a second there, 'You're dumb as fuck, I can't believe he survived when he was living with you. Not a single word that flew out of your mouth made sense. What in the the great heavens does burning the place down have to do with their current situation here?' I stood up, this motherfucker was not just a psychopath but she was actually dumb as a brick. One more piece of crap comes out of her mouth and there goes my last spark of sanity.

I didn't expect her to have anything reasonable to say, but she kept talking anyway. 'How do you expect her to even care about what happened between the two of you when the forest burns down? My point is, if you want her to forget about something for a while, you should create something else that is more unforgettable than anything else. Consider it, I'm not telling you to take my advice, it was never a good suggestion anyway. If you do anything else, you'll either be a bigger piece of shit than you already are or be someone who doesn't seem to care about anything at all. That's all I'm saying.'

'Wouldn't burning the place down make him a bigger piece of shit?' I asked. Yoko refused to respond, knowing that she already said that she knew that her advice was never good advice anyway. She wasn't the only dumbass here, to be honest, I didn't understand why it wouldn't be easier for him to actually give her what she wanted. I suppose it will seem like he cares too much, but it seems wrong for him not to.

I looked over at him and decided to ask, 'Why can't you just give her what she wants? You know that she obviously wanted to be with you, why can't you just accept it? There's nothing hard about that.'. Idiots, both idiots. Tyler immediately spoke up, 'Because I have no reason to. I never liked her at all. I banged her to shut her up. I'm a coward, I shield myself from guilt. If I date her now, it'll be wrong because I never loved her and I maybe an asshole but I can't just date her because I'd feel guilty if I didn't.'.

I blinked in disbelief, coward indeed, I wished I had a rolled up newspaper so I could hit him like a dog. 'If you give her what she wants, all problems will be solved. You don't want to seem like an asshole, stop being an asshole. Stop worrying, I have had enough of this crap, just give her what she wants and be for real this time.'. He was clearly annoyed with me and responded, 'I think you can see why I can't do that. I can't let it be for real because I never loved her.' What was wrong with him- 'And you see, she might not know that.'

He looked at me, wanting to slap some sense into that thick skull of mine. 'I'm not gonna give her what she wants unless it's for real. I can't lie to her again.' What he didn't know was that I really didn't care, I didn't care whether he loved her or not because I thought he didn't have to love her for them to be together. I wasn't planning on telling him any of that though. 'If you want her to be happy, then you should give her what she wants, right?'.

He sighed and replied, 'Well, that, Enid, is the only thing that makes sense for me right now. And believe me, nothing, amd I mean nothing matters to me more than seeing her happy. However, I just can't lie to her, not anymore, I don't have what she deserves and I can't pretend that I do. You have to understand that. Even if I can give her what she wants she would still deserve much better than what I can give her.

Bianca stepped in and walked towards us, she took a good look at me and Yoko, and she said something none of us expected to hear. 'Bullshit. Both of you. He doesn't love her, she knows that and accepted the way they are. If she accepts that he will never have feelings for her, then I'm afraid I don't see the problem here. Neither of you got what you wanted, but Wednesday already accepted not getting what she wanted, why can't you accept it too?'.

I couldn't disagree, I couldn't agree either, it didn't matter much but it mattered to me, it was odd. Her suggestion was that we do nothing at all, but unfortunately, we saw a problem, a problem we wanted her to see as well, that's what I thought at first. I soon realized that maybe we were being paranoid, maybe there was no problem, but it didn't mean that I agreed with her, I never took back what I said about giving her what she wanted, Yoko never took back what she said about burning down the forest, it wasn't hard to disagree with Bianca, I just saw a problem there, a problem she didn't see, I didn't care though, what happened later on kinda hit our opinions in the nut sack."
