"We should have some fun, it is our last day," I said to Bonnie, Elena and Stefan. We spent the half of the day buying clothes in the mall. Then, we had packed our bags the whole afternoon and evening. Now, its night time.

"Yeah, but how?" Bonnie asked.

"Sleepover!" Elena answered quickly and enthusiastically. I glanced a look at Stefan.

"Please don't make me wear nailpaint — "

"POLISH," I corrected him.

" — And makeup," he continued and finished with a smile which was not really that happy-looking.

A bright idea lit up my head slowly and a plan formed. Gosh, I am so evil. I think Klaus is getting to me.

"Let's party!" I shouted and got some wine and beer out of the cupboard. Bonnie got some glasses out.

We were in the Salvatore's house. They were departing to college from here. I am going to my mother's house. I can't leave without telling her.

Soon we were partying until it was nine. And, we made Stefan were makeup. It was so funny, he looked like a clown. When it was time to leave, I said goodbye to all of them and went to my mother's house.

Third person's view

At the house,

Knock, knock

Who's there?

Iva.

Iva who?

I've a sore hand from knocking!

She immediately covered her mouth from laughing out loud. Although she didn't say that out loud, she was still surprised that she even said that. She tried to control her thoughts. The Alcohol was definitely still there in her system.

She continued knocking.

Knock knock.

"Coming," she heard her mother's voice and smiled. It's been a long time.

"Hey mom," Caroline exclaimed and hugged her mother once she opened the door.

"Oh, sweetie, I missed you, how is everything?" She asked in her motherly tone. "I am fine, mom, let's go in before I freeze to ice," Caroline replied and they both chuckled.

"Oh, come on in," Her mother held her arm and led her to the living room.

There, she saw a man, brown-haired, brown eyes, he looked thin, dark and sallow-skined, with a curved nose that must have been broken too many times and a friendly face. He looked around the age of 35 and above. His body was well built. Wait, is her mother dating?

"Caroline? Meet Alan Jevetski, Alan, this is my daughter Caroline," my mother introduced.

"Pleasure to meet you Caroline," he said with a british accent, calmly and friendly.

"Mom, will you make me a coffee?" Caroline said suggestively, her eyebrows raising up. "Sure,"

They soon found themselves in the kitchen discussing about him. Alan Jevetski was born in England, he works in the army and is 36 years old. Her mother is 35. They both met on one of the mystery cases. And, since then, Alan asked my mother out and they had been testing themselves.

They were also discussing about how neat and punctual he is.

Caroline felt that it was perfect. They both matched. Her mother needed a soft but an army man.

"Mom, I am starting to like this guy," Caroline said and hugged her mother.

"You approve?"

"Yes,"

They left the kitchen with three cups of coffee and started talking. Caroline found Alan to be very endearing. He was honest, like her. Very straight forward, strict in discipline. He is the Colonel. He shared stories of his family and friends. And times during his camp. One of them was really funny. He had given a punishment of kissing trees to some guys who had not paid attention during his class.

Caroline had confirmed that he is harmless and a human. That's important.

It was getting toward midnight and Caroline had to hit the hay. Alan insisted on it too. Then, he left the house, and her mother went to hit the hay too.

Caroline's POV

I heard the beep sound of my phone and hurried to look at it.

My heart started flying.

"Goodnight sweetheart"

He is too sweet. Sweeter than sugar.

"Goodnight Klaus,"

"Dream of me,"

Back to his cocky self.

"Dream of me too,"

"Ofcourse sweetheart, I love you,"

"I love you too,"

"Please don't go to college,"

That was sudden. He never gives up, does he? He is making me want to run off into the sunset with him and never come back. How can a guy make you feel like this?

The things love make you think. Seriously?

"I am going whether you like it or not,"

Well, I am sorry, Klaus.

"Stubborn as always,"

So are you!

"Always and forever,"

I am proud of my stubbornness.

"Tell me immediately if you are having second thoughts,"

I am having them all the time.

"Sure will do,"

"Can I come?"

He is full of surprises, today.

Now, what if my mother comes in? But, I would really love him here... I won't be able to wakeup after tonight with his face beside mine.

"Here?"

"Yes,"

"Umm...if you can,"

It wasn't even five seconds before I saw Klaus standing in front of me.

"Were you waiting beside the window or something?" I asked in a shocked state.

"Maybe," he replied with that mischievous glint in his eyes.

Aww, he was waiting. That melted my heart, literally.

He replied and took a seat on the bed. I sat up straight.

"Why?"

He sounded as if he was exhausted. His voice came out like a tired pant.

"What why?"

"Why do you want to leave me so bad?"

My heart started racing against my chest.

"I am not leaving you Klaus, I love you okay? Stop being soo possessive! Live and let live!" I exclaimed and cupped his face in my hands. He gave a loud sigh and turned his face away. I felt my heart crush looking at him in this state. He looked so vulnerable. Like, as if I am the only one who can make him feel like that. It must be really hard for him.

I understand now. He has changed a lot. And I mean a lot. Ever since the day I met him, he was ruthless. Now? He is so human and it is all because of me. I felt so special. I am his weakness and it must be really hard for him to have a weakness all of a sudden.

That is why he is so afraid. So afraid and possessive. He doesn't want to lose me like how he lost everything.

I turned his face back to me.

"I understand Klaus, I understand," I assured him and gave him a small peck. He gave me a genuine beautiful smile and a silent nod.

We had this understanding like he knew exactly what I was thinking.

Wait, is he in my mind?

I saw him give me a cheeky smile. I smacked his shoulder.

"Get out of my head," I said playfully and he nodded with a smirk.

And, just like that, the tension left. We laid there, talking about life. He told me stories of his human days and struggles. I told him my childhood stories and he listened to them, without complaining. I also told him about Alan and he seemed to like that guy's character.

Then, I fell alsleep in his arms. It must have been three a.m. at night when I did so.

A/N;

Hey guys!

How is this chapter? I liked writing this chapter.

It's sad. It's the last day of summer holidays. College starting tommorow!

Caroline should stay, don't you think?
