Chapter 9 (Part 2)

APOLLO

Well. Its now or never, I had to get the palace key back as soon as possible.
I had to do it whatever it takes before everything would go down to nothing.
I couldn't let the shadow commander held the key forever. I had to find a possible way to get it back from my hands because that shiny key was the only access to the light palace, and my last chance to save the kingdom from the darkness.

My thoughts were drifted away when the shadow commander shouted at his army to get in position. I watched each one of them, staring narrowly at me with cold stares. I mean. They are all like vehement waves, crashing dangerously towards at my direction. I could instantly sense danger ahead, and I could tell this is much worst than I expected.

I heaved a deep sigh. I guess there's no turning back. I had to do this for my aunt, to everyone, and to myself.

Tonight would be the perfect night. They would see how I shine with the last light within my heart.

This is the moment where I would prove to all of them that this young man here could be brave and conquer the darkness without fear because I held the last light, and its somewhere deep inside of my heart.

"Apollo meet my shadow army," the shadow commander introduced me from his group, then he glanced at my direction with a creepy smile on his face. "Can you stand a chance to defeat them all? Well, by staring at you right now. It seems you're not fully prepare to have a battle against my army."

I gritted my teeth. "What did you say?" Then I pointed a finger to myself "Me? Not fully prepare? The light portal have lead me here and it is the perfect time for me to brighten up this dark place with the sea of lights."

"Are you threatening me Apollo?" he frowned at my response. "It seems you have completely forgotten about what I've told you earlier about surrendering your power to us. I'm giving you a last chance to decide, and time is constantly ticking. Don't let this opportunity go into waste."

I breathe, thinking the right words I was about to say. "When my aunt gave me the palace key. I have a mission to fulfill and I have a courage to step inside the light portal. I always keep in mind that I have to save this kingdom from the darkness," then I pointed my forefinger at his direction. "There's no way you can stop this young man here with a hope in his heart. I will find a way to get the palace key back on my hands, and there is no precious second that I've wasted."

The shadow commander chuckled, as if he was amused. "Very well said Apollo," he remarked, clapping both of his hands. "I see you're taking this quest so seriously. Well I guess we must start the show. Shall we?" then he clicked his fingers as his army began to march at my direction.

I took a deep breath. The show was about to start. I better be prepare to the possible outcome of this battle. Well. I hope I could this alone independently. Again.

I held the knight sword tighter on my hands. I felt my heart pounded fast, while beads of sweat formed into my forehead.

I couldn't let this fear hold me back any longer. I had reached this far enough. This kingdom needed brightness. The whole world needed a true hero, and that hero was me.

I am Apollo and I was destined to save them all.

I stared up above the gloomy sky. A group of dark clouds came into my view. Its thunder made an earpiecing sound, wanting to cover both side of my ears. Raindrops slowly began to pour down into the ground.

I closed my eyes, as I felt the cold water splashed over my pale skin. With the rainfall at my side, I felt alive with its cool energy. So I don't really mind to get soaked up by the heavy rain, it calmed all of my nerves down.

I opened my eyes, a smile curved into my wet lips. I would fight them whatever it takes to get the palace key back on my hands.

I breathe deeply, then I charged my knight sword forward to the shadow humans who stood near before me. One of them screamed in agony and despair, while some quickly dodged my attack.

I swang my knight sword from left to right. I could hear the helpless shrieks from the shadow humans, who was been badly hit by the blade of crimson fire. I saw colourful lights floated above in the mid air, every time they are exploding like a party confetti.

In my peripheral vision, I saw the shadow commander walked out from the battle scene. A smirk plastered on his wicked face, while seeing me fighting his shadow army alone.

Hell. He wouldn't get any farther with the palace key on his evil hands. Once I'm done fighting with this shadow fuckers, he would be next in line in the loser's grave, permanently.

After countless of cursing, breathing, and fighting the stupid shadow humans with my knight sword. There was a half of them left for me to eliminate.

Oh boy. This quest is getting harder than I thought it was. I needed to find the shadow commander immediately.

Speaking of the devil, I saw him standing alone in the other side. I rushed my way towards at his direction. I raised the knight sword up in the mid air, then I screamed at the top of my lungs. He was been startled, as he quickly dodged my attack.

"My. Apollo. Are you really desperate to get the palace key from me?" A smirk still plastering on his stupid face. "Oh. Come on young man. Why are you spoiling the fun?"

"I'm tired of this madness." I answered him, breathing heavily. "Hand over to me the palace key. I will spare your pathetic life with it."

The shadow commander laughed at my response. "Do you think I'm dumb enough to do such thing? Please. Apollo. You're making me laugh, and in times like this one, you have crack a joke that is stupidly hilarious."

"Get used to it. You shit." I hissed, then both of my eyes windened in surprise.

When did I learn how to curse in front of the elders before me?

Well, this shit here was an exemption. He would receive tons of bad curses on my dirty mouth.

"Well young man you have a very bad attitude," he remarked disappointly. "Maybe I will teach you a lesson by hitting you in the head," then he started to charge at my direction.

A smirk curved on my lips. What a dumb move for a dumb shadow human like him.

I held the knight sword tighter on my hands, while my heart beat raced fast because of the excitement that rushed its way inside my viens. I would make this scene unforgettable.

I closed both of my eyes. I felt the heat energy began to boil inside of me. I took a deep breath when the light came out from my chest.

Its brightness almost blinded my sight as it flew majestically above in the mid air. I awed in surprise. It was the beautiful sea of lights, illuminating its brightness through the dark starry night.

My heart skipped a beat when it flew towards at the shadow commander. Its colourful light touched his shadowy body with brightness. I heard him shrieked in pain.

"Apollo, you little brat. How can you do this to me?" He said hysterically, glaring at me with cold stares.

"Well, don't underestimate the power of light. Now you are next in line to  dissappear in the air permanently," a playful smirk plastered on my face.

"You don't know how powerful the shadow king is Apollo," the shadow commander began to warn me. "Once you enter the light palace, you will regret why you enter without anything to save yourself."

"Right the from the start, I don't regret anything, there's nothing for me to be afraid of because within me." I placed my hand over my chest. "I have the power of light inside of my heart."

The shadow commander peaked his eyebrows in surprise "What? You. Are. The chosen one!" he exclaimed.

"Yes, and I'm here to bring the last light into the darkness."

"You ---

His voice was been cut off when his shadowy body blurred and faded away. Tiny dust of glitters floated in the mid air.

I sighed in pure relief. Good thing that was over.

I gasped when the palace key caught my attention when it landed into the solid ground. I ran as fast as I could before anyone could reach it.

I grabbed the shiny key on my hand, as I raised it above into the mid air. It was glowing with a golden light.

A smile finally plastered on my tired face.

Victory was back again on my hands.

After I defeated the shadow commander and his army. I proceed to my quest to save the light kingdom from the darkness. I tried my best to walk in the pathway since I was been injured after I fought the shadow humans, who were all clever and powerful.

Apollo. Don't give up just yet. You had reached this far, and don't you ever turn back.

I thought of myself. Then I took a several breaths before I walk slowly in the pathway.

I stopped when I saw a tremendous castle stood far away from where I was at this moment.

My heart jumped with joy. Tears trickled down on my face. This must be the light palace! I had to get there as soon as possible. Though my aunt was in grave danger and the kingdom needed me.

"Wait for me Aunt Jonah, I will come to rescue you," I said in a whisper. Then I held the knight sword tighter on my hands.
