The rampaging that took place in the house was one which Made Manal eyes water. She knew she was to blame for what had happened to poor Susu, oh if she had known she would have just hidden the drink in the freezer but she had to be very Nonchalant. "Cairo how is she?" She asked As soon as Cairo walked downstairs with the family doctor following behind him.

"Thank you Doctor Emeka, I don't know what would have happened to my child if you hadn't arrived early" Cairo shook the doctor pretending that Manal had not spoken.

"No problem Cairo, just make sure you are extra careful on how you keep such drinks. The caffeine in that drink is too high, I assure you that next time if she takes it it'll shut her Brain down for good" The doctor said. "Hello Mrs Cairo, how are you?" The doctor finally noticed Manal.

"I'm Good sir, you?" She tried her possible best not to look troubled.

"I'm Good too" He smiled at the poor woman whose eyes couldn't hide her pain and fear she was in at the moment.

"I'll be on my way now" Doctor Emeke shook Cairo one more time before exiting the house. As soon as Cairo saw the doctor had shut the door closed, he turned to Manal with his fingers pointing directly at her eyes "Woman, Never In your life should you come close to my daughter, I'm warning you now. The next time I see you with her, I swear by my lord I'll forget the promise I made to my late mother and kick you out of my house and life. You got that?" He asked. Manal looked extremely speechless. She simply nodded her head and turned around to walk away.

"Manal!" Hadiza's thunderous voice emanated from the stairs. There was no doubt she was angry. Manal turned around slowly to face the angry looking woman staring down at her with so much hatred in her eyes.

"What did my Susu ever do to you?. how could you give her the drink to take?. Are you a fool?" Hadiza spited angrily. With tears pouring down her eyes.

"You have gotten it all wrong I..." She was immediately cut short by Cairo who landed her a tremendous slap that made her fall to her knees.

"You gave her to drink?" Cairo asked. His voice sounding more husky than usual.

"I didn't, I swear" Manal said. Laying on the ground with tears pouring down her eyes.

"You know what, I don't blame you. It is because I left you to stay inside this big house with us, you Belong to the cottage and not a place as beautiful as here" Cairo lifted her up to her feet with her arm and dragged her roughly towards the door which he opened and threw her right out. "And don't you ever come back in here, you belong in the cottage" He shut the door right after those words. Manal stood up and tied her wrapped properly and sat back on the floor and began crying. Oh, how she wished Hajiya Turay hadn't died. She wouldn't have been facing so much disgrace. She could remember vividly the night Cairo brought her into his house as his wife, it was a night she never wants to remember.

The house looked scanty, only the friends of the bride were sited with her in her room. There was no doubt this bride was very anxious, scared, and extremely shy. "Don't worry Manal we'll soon leave, no need to remind us?" Cairo's younger sister, Ameerah said.

"No it's not that, it's late" Manal managed to say.

"It's a lie. you want time with your hubby that's why" The whole room erupted with laughter as Jamila, Another sister of Cairo spoke.

"Well Ladies. She's right, we need to leave. It's night and I'm sure the couples are tired and sleepy" Ameerah said and they all agreed. They all hugged Manal tightly before leaving. Another round of crying began as soon as the ladies walked out and left. She was indeed scared of Cairo. She knew he disliked her allot. In not less than twenty minutes, with Manal still in tears. Her husband, Cairo Walked into the room with a scowl on his face.

"I hope you don't think you are sleeping here, would you get the heck out of my room you disgusting freak!" She raised her head up to stare at the face in which those words were coming from, Cairo.

"Look at how ugly you are even on makeup. Get up!" He yelled the last words angrily. "Very local village girl, just because you were opportune to learn how to speak English doesn't make you A modern woman. You are very disgusting and local, better get up and leave here unless I'll throw you out myself" He spited. She stood up calmly and walked towards the door and pulled it open. The moment she walked out, he banged the door shut. Her legs couldn't carry her no more as she fell to the ground, crying her eyes out at her husbands hurtful words. She couldn't believe her life had just begun, but in the den of an injured lion. That night, she slept outside his door. Indeed a wedding night Ruined.

Indeed life is stupid at times, no matter what you do people shall indeed make you unhappy. Well at least she would not have to keep up with Cairo and Hadiza. Though she would miss Susu allot. But it was better she stayed here, she craved peace and finally she had gotten it. Her stomach rumbled and then she remembered that she haven't had breakfast nor lunch.
