Chapter 15: A Plan
Aerlinniel POV
We reached the remains of the Hidden Kingdom a couple days ago. I haven't said anything yet, we've just been walking around. They've asked a few times, I promised I would tell them when we reached the castle.
"We are here, we have reached the castle!" Eruedraith states.
"It's been so long." I whisper, mostly to myself. I sit down on a piece of stone. "I remember when my Naneth used to teach me how to navigate the halls." I say with a small laugh, forgetting that Caunedhiel and Eruedraith are standing right there. "I don't know how many times I bumped into a wall or door."
"Wait. What do you mean by 'she taught you to navigate the halls'?" Caunedhiel questions.
"Well, she had to teach me because she wanted me to be able to get around without someone having to guide me." I tell her.
"Why would someone have to-- oh! You are blind! Does that mean you are the Princess? How can that be? What happened? How can you get around so well even though you're blind?" Eruedraith throws a whole bunch of questions at me.
"Eruedraith!" Caunedhiel exclaims, hitting his arm.
"No, it's alright. Yes, I am blind and yes, that does mean I'm the Princess." I start to explain but Bilbo interrupts me.
"Wait, what?! You are the Princess? How come you didn't mention this before?"
"Sorry, Bilbo. I just didn't know how you'd react. I do not want anyone treating me differently just because I am a Princess. That's why I haven't told anyone." I apologise to him.
"It is alright. I guess I understand why you wouldn't want anyone to know. And, I won't treat you any differently." He promises.
"Thank you, Bilbo." I thank him, giving him a smile.
~two months later~
Bilbo, Caunedhiel, Eruedraith and I have traveled through a lot of Middle-earth earth. Right now, we are near Mordor. We have been following some Orcs.
A couple weeks ago we overheard them talking about some Dwarf prisoners that they had captured. Two of the names caught our attention. Those names were Oin and Gloin.
"The Orcs have entered some sort of underground place. We need to have a plan before we go in, we don't want to get ourselves killed." Eruedraith advised.
"Are you sure you don't mind helping? Because, you do not have to help." I tell them.
"We want to help." Caunedhiel assures.
Eruedraith adds, "Anyways, with you being blind and Bilbo not knowing much about fighting, you could use the help."
"Well then," I begin. "How about you and Caunedhiel distract the guards, Bilbo will get the keys, and I will look for where the prisoner are?"
"That is actually a really good idea." Eruedraith approves. "Should we do this tonight or wait until tomorrow?"
"It would be best to do it tomorrow. That way, when we make our escape, the Orcs won't want to chase us in daylight." Bilbo suggests.
"Good point, we will tomorrow then. Right now, we should all get some rest. We have a big day ahead of us tomorrow. I will take the first watch." Eruedraith offers.
I lay down and get comfortable. I really hope we will be able to save Oin and Gloin tomorrow.
