Chapter Thirty Three
Henry quickly pushed Alyssa away from him completely startled and disgust. "Wh-wh-wh-" His stuttering returned as he couldn't bring himself to get a full sentence out.
"There, that's how you do it!" Alyssa huffed sitting down beside her older sister. Tori looked at her in pure shock.
"Aly! You..you just kissed him."
"Right, I did because he was getting all worked up, I was just showing him the ropes." She shrugged.
"Since when have you kissed anyone?" Tori asked with concern.
"Oh Tori," Alyssa smiled and patted her sister on the shoulder before turning to Henry. "Now, you're all set Henry, just so what I did to Tori in front of Hope and it'll all work out."
"N-n-no!" Henry wiped at his mouth repeatedly. "No! I don't want to kiss her or any other girl. How could...no!"
He stood up , angry and ready to leave the compartment.
"Alright, settle down! Settle down!" Alyssa said. "Fine, you two don't have to snog, but holding hands might send the right message. Can you two at least manage that?"
"Are you sure of what you saw?" Fergus stared at Hope wide eyed as she found him in another compartment after she witnessed Henry and Alyssa. Hope had booted the remaining members of the quidditch from the compartment so she could talk with the boy.
"Yes, Fergie, I'm pretty sure!" Hope said. "My eyesight is pretty good."
"Alright, well..." Fergus shook his head. "I'm so confused."
"That's what I said. I thought, well, maybe, I don't know." Hope covered her face. "From what Stella and Eliza said, I thought that he liked me-"
"He does like you!" Fergus told her throwing his hands up in frustration. "He does, trust me, Hope."
"Is that how boys show each other how they like someone? By kissing another?" Hope asked him.
"Only the stupid ones," Fergus mumbled.
The girl settled back and looked out the window with her arms folded.
"Are you angry with him?" Fergus asked her.
"No, of course not," Hope replied. "I'm just so confused right now. Everyone is saying something different, but every time I try to approach Henry something gets in the way. I don't know what or who to believe. I want to talk to Henry but he won't talk to me, he keeps avoiding me. He thinks I don't notice or maybe he doesn't care that I do notice, but I do."
Fergus frowned, it was rare to see the Weasley girl in distress since Hope was always so bubbly and smiling.
"Come here, Hope." Fergus said extending his arms out to her.
Hope picked herself up from the seat and moved across to the other, sitting beside Fergus. He pulled her into a side hug as she rested her head on his shoulder and he placed his head upon hers gently.
"Don't you worry, we'll get this all sorted out." he said giving her a slight shake. "Even if I have to beat Henry to a pulp."
Hope giggled. "Why are you taking my side? Aren't boys supposed to stick together?"
"Oh not in this case, Hope. You're my best Beater, can't afford to lose that."
"Fergie!" She smacked his arm.
The two remained together until they arrived to the Hogsmeade Station, when they jumped off the train to head to the carriages, they found themselves experiencing even more confusion as they saw Henry holding hands with Tori.
"I think my brain just melted and leaked out my ear." Hope said before tilting her head to the side and smacking the side of her head.
"What is happening?" Fergus scratched the side of his face. "What are you doing, Black?"
"He kisses Alyssa and holds hands with Tori...is he with both of them?" Hope asked Fergus.
"I don't know. I'm just as lost about this whole thing as you are, Hope. Really, I don't have the slightest clue as to what is going on. Maybe he's picking up on some of his dad's traits after all."
"What do you mean?" Hope looked over at him.
"Well, you know, Professor Black was kinda known for being quite popular with the ladies during his time at school. I guess before he met Professor Dover. At least, that's what I heard."
"Really? I heard he was always mad for Nixie." Hope said. "Or was it she was always mad at him? Regardless, Henry may look like his dad, but he doesn't always act like him."
"Are you sure about that?"
"I'm not sure about anything at this point. Is my name even Hope?"
Henry dropped Tori's hand from his as he arrived in front of the carriage.
"I can't...I just can't do this! It's weird. It's too weird for me." He wiped his sweaty palm against his pant of his leg. "I'm sorry."
"It's okay," Tori sighed. "This is too weird for me. I don't know why listening to Alyssa seemed like a good idea at the time."
"Doesn't matter. Let's just agree not to listen to her anymore. I need to add her to the list of people not to listen to."
"Who else is on the list?" Tori asked.
"Teddy is number one."
"That sounds about right."
Hope and Fergus arrived to the castle first with their carriage and made their way to the Great Hall.
"Should I ask him about it?" Hope sat down on the bench across from Fergus.
"I don't know, how do you even bring that up? Hey Henry, totally saw you snogging Alyssa on the train and then holding hands with her sister! Have a nice summer?"
Hope pulled her robes over her head and let out a loud groan.
"Hope?"
"I just need a moment here, Fergie."
"Okay."
