Chapter Sixty
Trying to figure out the hint given to them with the coin, was not proving to be easy at all. In fact, it was harder than the task itself to retrieve the stupid coin in the first place. Luckily, Hope was not one to give up so easily and neither were her cousins. Despite the difficulty of figuring out the hint, there was some good that occurred. Elliot and Teddy seemed to have gotten over their anger when it came to Stella and Eliza, and reunited the entire group again. Hope was glad that things were returning somewhat back to normal, although while talking to each other, there was obvious tension between the four, as they were sitting upon their feelings rather than talking about them.
Hope tried to encourage her uncle to talk to Stella fully, but he refused and when she tried to encourage Stella to talk to Teddy in privacy, she refused as well. However, they were talking to each other, which was good enough for her for the time being.
They had other things to worry about and that was figuring out the coin. The nerves came upon them when they realized that the other teams were no longer studying their coins, making the Weasley girls nervous about not being able to figure it out yet. They also had to deal with their classes, and make sure they were keeping up with their work, because Champions or not, their professors were not going to just let them slide by without doing any work.
Hope was trying to focus on her paper for Charms, as the class had gone over the seize and pull charm, but her brain was completely scrambled at the moment. Instead of struggling and wanting to pull her hair out, Hope gathered her things and made her way to her grandfather's office, only to find Teddy there speaking with his father.
"I don't know what to do! I tell her I like her, and she called me a liar."
She rolled her eyes. "Not this nonsense again." She sighed. She was never going to get her homework done with Teddy and Stella in the way with their weird relationship problems. Rather than barging in on the conversation, the girl left to find her cousin.
Eventually, she came upon Stella, who was just leaving the library with a couple of other Slytherin students. She wasted no time in grabbing the girl by the robes and dragging her away to speak with her.
"Hope?" Stella glanced over her shoulder. "What are you doing? Did you figure out the coin or something?"
"No." Hope answered.
"Then why are you dragging me? I'm capable of walking-"
"Because you're an idiot."
Stella turned to her wide eyed and her mouth open, in shock at Hope's words. However, while she narrowed her eyes at her, Hope didn't falter.
"What did you say to me?"
"I called you an idiot." Hope said. "You and Teddy are the biggest idiots in this castle right now, and that's saying a lot considering some of the people that walk around here."
"How am I an idiot?" Stella growled.
"Because the boy tells you he likes you and you call him a liar? Who does that?"
"He is lying-'
"No, he's not." Hope said. "Trust me, Stella, I know he's not lying, he never was lying about that. He's liked you a lot longer than you think."
"Is that what he told you?" Stella folded her arms.
"No, he didn't have to say anything. I figured it out before he figured it out."
Stella's eyes widened. "And..and how did you figure that out?"
"Because, you know those Amorentia fireworks that my dad and Uncle George make..."
"Why were all the Gryffindors called here?" Hope asked as she arrived to the hall to see Fergus and Henry already seated on the floor. Henry pulled her down to sit in his lap as he shrugged.
"They just told us to come here." Fergus said. "Knowing our luck it's because of something you two did."
"Impossible, we haven't been able to do anything since the start of the tournament." Hope told him. "It's been quite sad really. I miss raising hell in the corridors."
"Well, it gives us something to look forward to, right?" Henry said. She turned to him with a smile and nodded.
Suddenly, the door opened and the older Gryffindor students looked over to see Professor Longbottom walk in with a kind smile on his face.
"Now I'm really confused." Hope whispered.
"Good afternoon, everyone." Professor Longbottom greeted the students. "As you well know that while there has been some alterations to Triwizard Tournament, there are some aspects of the tournament that will remain traditional. One traditional part being the Yule Ball."
Hope and Henry couldn't help but laugh at the mention of the Yule Ball, as the two had heard countless stories from Uncle George and Eleanor about Harry's dancing at the previous Yule Ball.
But after their laughter died down, Hope kept a bright smile on her face, as she knew the story behind her parents sharing their first kiss at the Yule Ball back when they attended it. She leaned back into Henry's chest, as she continued to listen to Professor Longbottom, explain that the champions would have the first dance with their partner, but it was important that all students learned the dance in order to participate.
The music began to play and Professor Longbottom ordered all to pair up.
"Who am I supposed to dance with?" She heard Henry call out playfully. He chuckled to himself until she elbowed him in the ribs.
"You can dance with Fergie," She told him. "I'm going to dance with Professor Longbottom, I heard he's a lovely dancer."
Before Henry and Fergie could protest, Hope pushed herself up to her feet and approached the Professor to dance.
"Yes, Miss Weasley?"Professor Longbottom gave her a curious glance. She offered her hand to him asking him to dance.
"Word around the castle is you're the best dancer, care to show off your moves, Professor?"
