Chapter Nineteen
Hope sat in her bed one morning, not bothering to head over to the boy's dorm to wake Henry. She wasn't sure as to why Henry was seemingly avoiding her, but if the boy needed his space, then she was more than willing to give it. She tossed a plush bludger up and down as she laid back in her bed, trying to figure out what she was going to do for the day if Henry was still set on doing something else without her. Peeves was no help and she didn't want to hang around Teddy, Stella , Eliza and Elliot because she didn't want to deal with Teddy and Stella fighting over something stupid.
"Moo bubble bubble...Hope's in trouble, her grandpa howls at the moon...Hope better find something to do or it's Hogwarts that's going to be in trouble soon." She sang to herself before letting out a triumphant giggle. But it soon faded and she was left bored again.
"Oh come on...Hope..think of something...you can't just sit around here all day. Well...maybe...maybe he's still waiting on me to wake him up. Yeah, maybe I should go wake him up...yeah I'll do that."
She arose out of bed when she suddenly heard someone calling her name from the bottom of the stairs.
Henry rested in his bed, his hands tucked behind his head as he waited and waited some more. He figured at one point Hope was going to come bother him and wake him up. However, the longer he waited, the more it became obvious that she probably wasn't going to come. He sat up and sighed, before he pushed himself out of bed finally.
He went to head down the stairs and actually attempt to be productive with his day when he heard someone call out Hope's name. He was halfway down the steps as he heard Hope's voice enter the common room.
"What's going on, Maxine?" Hope's voice asked.
"Where have you been?" Another Gryffindor girl said.
"I've been upstairs in the dorms...where you just called me from..remember?"
"Oh, right. Well you have a visitor."
"A visitor?"
"Benjamin is waiting for you outside the portrait."
"He is?"
"Mmhmm, he wants to talk to you."
"About what?"
"How should I know? Go talk to him and find out."
"Alright, alright, quit pushing!"
Henry groaned lightly before resting his back against the wall of the stairs. He hadn't realized that Hope had been up in the dorms the entire time. He had missed out on his chance to hang out with her.
"Good going, seacow. Good going."
"You look mighty fallen and defeated." Alyssa Finnigan chuckled as she caught sight of Henry in the corridor.
He made a face at the youngest Finnigan as Tori turned her attention to him. "Hey Henry."
"Hey." He sat with the two girls in the window seat.
"Hope is with McGregor, I presume?" Alyssa smirked.
"Shut up, Alyssa." Henry and Tori said together.
"You two are so sad." Alyssa sighed. "Honestly, both of you are sitting here, all sad in the face instead of actually doing what you're supposed to be doing."
"Which is?" Henry asked.
"Telling Hope how you feel ." She said to him before turning to her sister. "And you telling Benji how you feel. Tada, drama over, Alyssa saves the day. You're welcome."
"It's not that simple." Henry said. "I don't feel anything..I just want my best friend back."
Alyssa snorted. "And I'm a bald orangutan. Now that we're done lying. You two ought to be ashamed of yourselves. Really. Sitting here in denial, when you two could just be honest with yourselves and Hope and Benji and all your problems would be solved."
"Alyssa, stop talking!" Tori covered her sister's mouth. She looked at Henry. "I'm sorry. She..she has a big mouth as you have experienced quite a bit."
Henry smiled. "It's alright. I wish it was as simple as telling them..but it isn't. And the consequences could be even worse."
"What is going on between those two?" Nixie crossed her arms over her chest as she stood next to Remus in the Study Hall.
"What?"
"Remus...please...open your eyes for just a minute." she whispered harshly to him. "Do you not see where Hope is sitting and where Henry is sitting?"
Remus looked out and scanned the crowd of students. He saw his granddaughter sitting at one table, working on her work, and at another table sat Henry.
"Did they get into a fight?" Remus pondered.
"Not that I'm aware of." Nixie pressed her lips together for a moment. "He's been acting so weird as of late...I was thinking it was teenage hormones or something...but...this is beyond me. Those two have been attached at the hip since they were days old."
"Should we force them to sit together?"
"What? No." Nixie shook her head. "That would be weird, Remus. Merlin...between you and Sirius..."
"I was only trying to help."
"Forcing two people to be around each other won't help-"
"Certainly helped with you." Remus grinned. "You married the boy that we forced you to be around."
"She secretly enjoyed every minute of it too." Sirius said as he arrived standing beside his wife. 'Didn't you, Nini?"
"Need I remind both of you that the Black Lake is not that far from here." she said before walking off to help one of the students that called her over.
"So violent." Sirius sighed. "Yet still so adorable."
'Sirius," Remus said turning to his old dear friend. "You need to talk to your son...and I...I need to talk to Hope. There's something up with them."
"Are you suggesting that we give advice, Moony?"
"Maybe I'll just talk to the both of them myself. Merlin, knows what you would say."
"Oh we can make it interesting..."
"Oh no..."
"I'll speak with Little Lupin Weasley Spawn...and you can talk to Henry."
