Henry's first morning at Hogwarts, he planned on sleeping in. He planned on sleeping in every year, but that was never the case as Hope didn't allow him to sleep in. She was a morning person to Henry's misfortune. She didn't like sleeping in when she knew she could be doing something else and it normally meant Henry had to be awake to keep her company. It was around eight in the morning, when he heard Hope's voice call up the stairs.

"For Kelpie's sake." he groaned before grabbing his pillow and holding it over his head. "Why doesn't this girl ever sleep in?"

Hope was not one to give up either as she continued to call him in a sing song voice.

"Henry get up!" One of his dormmates yelled at him, throwing a pillow in his direction.

Henry made a pitiful whining noise. "But I don't want to.."

"She's going to wake up the whole castle! Get out there, it's you she's waiting on."

"Yeah, Henry, get out of bed."

All the boys in the room let out a scream as Hope stood in their room with her hands resting on her hips staring down Henry.

"What are you covering yourself for, Wood?" Hope asked glancing over in the direction of the boy hold his blanket over himself.

"Why are you in here?!" Fergus Wood called to her.

"I'm here for this one." she pointed at Henry who remained hidden under his covers and pillows.

"Henry's not here right now." Henry's muffled voice rang out.

"Oh really? Then what's this giant lump right here?" Hope asked sitting on Henry.

"HEY GET OFF!"

"Nope."

"You're not supposed to be in here." Fergus told her.

"Calm down, Fergie, will ya?" Hope said to the Scottish boy.

"Yeah Fergie, calm down. Don't get your wand into a knot." Henry chuckled from beneath his covers.

"It's Fergus! FERGUS. F-E-R...G-"

"Was that hesitation I heard?" Henry poked his head from his blankets and scooted Hope off of him so that they were both looking in Fergus' direction. "Hesitation with spelling your own name, Fergs?"

"Shut up, Henry!"

Hope and Henry laughed before the girl stood up from the bed and turned to Henry. "Hurry up and get dressed, will you?"

"I'm up, and I'm going." Henry said to her.

She smiled at him before leaving the boy's dorm. As Henry believed the coast to be clear, he went to lay back down in bed.

"Henry!" Hope's voice called.

"Alright, alright!"

Hope peeked her head around the corner carefully as the two heard Peeve's cackle in the distance and the scream of first years.

"You have to admire his dedication." Hope told Henry. "He gets started off every year straight from the beginning."

"Oh yes, Peeves is very admirable." Henry scoffed.

"Someone's still slightly bitter from last year."

"He made me smell like dead fish for two days!" Henry replied defensively. "Two days."

"I heard you the first time, Henry. And it wasn't that bad...I still hung out with you."

"Yes, but you reminded me each day that I smelled terrible."

"I was only being honest. Honesty is key." she grinned at him.

"Listen you-"

"Well if it isn't Looney Lupin's granddaughter, Hope the Dope, and Henry the Sea Cow."

The two young teens rolled their eyes before looking over at Peeves who was standing before them where the corridors intersecting.

The two smiled at each other before Henry spoke first. "Well if it isn't Peeves the painfully-"

"-pitiful-"

"-pandering-"

"-pompous-"

Peeves looked back at forth at the two as they continued.

"-parasitic-"

"Poltergeist." Hope finished.

The poltergeist grinned at the two. "So what kind of trouble do you plan on getting into this year?" he asked them.

"The kind where we don't get caught." Henry said.

The two ventured outside to where they were holding class for Care of Magical Creatures, happy to see Hagrid who smiled and waved at them in greeting as other members of the class showed up. The large man began to speak about the lesson that involved Hippogriffs, but as he began to explain the lesson, he warned everyone not to insult any of the Hippogriff's or they would injured like a student in the past, who had neglected to listen.

Henry and Hope exchanged glances as they knew that story all too well and the two even knew the Hippogriff that was being mentioned, personally.

"Bad Bucky." Henry snorted causing Hope to laugh out loud. She quickly clapped her hand over her mouth and shot an apologetic look in Hagrid's direction.

"We're going to take things slow today, we're just going to observe from a distance and next class, we will work on gaining their respect one student at a time."

The Hippogriffs for the lesson were fenced in an area, as some rested, others were feeding, and the rest were doing their best to ignore the staring students before becoming irritated.

"They don't like to be stared at directly in the eye, so make sure not to do that." Hagrid told them quickly as one of the Hippogriff's clawed at the dirt.

"I wonder what Buckbeak has been up to since he left." Henry wondered out loud as he leaned against the post of the fence observing the animals.

Hope shrugged. "Eating..dancing.. meeting up with lady Hippogriffs? Or perhaps a  combination of all three, eating while dancing with a lady Hippogriff."

Henry made a face at her but then slowly started to picture the scenario in his head.

"What is with you and creating disturbing mental images?" he asked her.

"I dunno. But hippogriff parties sound amazing, I want to be invited to one. Get your wings out and let's get ready to party!" she flung her arms out only to hit Henry in the face. "Ooops."

"Let's keep your wing flapping to a minimum, shall we?" Henry said holding his hands over his face. 'And leave the beatings for out on the quidditch pitch."

"Sorry."

"It's alright." he smiled at her. "You just don't know your own strength."

After leaving Care of Magical Creatures, the two ventured to their next class, the Study of Ancient Runes.

"How did you convince me to take his class again?" Hope asked him as they reached the classroom.

"I told you, we get to be runemates." Henry said nudging her shoulder with a grin.

Hope nodded her head. "Now I remember. Wow, I really need to get my priorities in order if I was convinced to take a class over a witty pun."
