"Darshan listen", I said and stood up to walk towards him. He didn't say anything, just shoved his hands in air to stop me. He looked at me, his eyes were wet and filled with anger. "I thought that an year ago, I was wrong, I did wrong and I should not have done it. I trusted you this time, but I was wrong. I was not wrong an year ago, I was wrong this time. I was wrong to trust you again. I shouldn't have", he said. His voice was full of anger. Even on the day he left me, he didn't sound so angry, disappointed and broken. "Darshan it's not what you're thinking. Let me explain", I said. "Oh really! Stop it Aaruhi. I myself heard him saying I love you to you, both of you were looking at eachother, holding eachother's hands like a couple made in heaven, and still you are saying that it's not what I think", he snapped and went away. My heart shattered, tears settled on my waterline and terribly flowed down. "Darshan", I said and tried to stop him but he didn't. I went towards him but Shubh stopped me. "Wait let me explain", he said and went towards Darshan and stopped him by holding his hand. "You have you listen Darshan", he said. Darshan turned around and said, "You shut up! That day, what did you say, you guys are just friends, you treat her like your sister, right? So what was all this, is that what a 'friend' says to a his 'friend', or does a 'brother' proposes like this to his 'sister'. It's all my fault, I shouldn't have trusted you", he said pointing his finger towards Shubh. After Darshan finished Shubh instantly slapped him and said, "Be in your limits". "Shubh!", I shouted and went towards him. "What are you doing? Say sorry to him", I said. "No, I won't", he boldly replied. "Shubh don't misbehave, you know that he has mistaken everything", I said. "So what? That doesn't give him the freedom to say whatever shit he likes and you, better be out of this, let me talk to him", he said. "What do you think, whatever you think is right? An year ago you left her because of your misunderstanding, and now again you are doing that. You again don't want to listen to anyone and you are leaving, but this time, I won't let you", he said and paused and moved his fingers through his hair. "Yes, I said I love you to her but do you know why I said that? Do you know anything that happened inside? I like a girl, I wanted to propose her but was feeling nervous so she suggested me that she'll help me and whatever I'll say to that girl, I should first say to her", he continued. "And why do you want me to believe you now?", Darshan asked. "God! Darshan, you are impossible. Why can't you see her love for you? Can't you see that whenever she's with you, she feels so good. You left her months back, you never tried to know about her, never tried to contact her, broke all your links, still she wanted to spend the last few days of her life with you. I and Priti always supported her, made sure she feels happy, and to be honest, after what you did, we always tried to keep her away from you but she wanted to have you back", Shubh said and tears uncontrollably fell down my cheeks. "Do you still think that she can cheat on you, she can love anyone else?", Shubh softly added. Darshan didn't reply anything. Somewhere, guilt filled his eyes, he looked down and left from there. I sat down on the couch and buried my face in my hands. "Don't worry Aaruhi, he'll understand, he'll be fine", Priti said, sat besides me and rubbed my back. "Why don't he understand, why he always does like that? What did I ask for? Only for a few days without any fight, any misunderstandings, just as a friend. Can't he do that", I said between my sobbs. "Aaruhi, don't worry I'll talk to him", Shubh said, removing my hands from my face. "Talk to him or slap him", I snapped in anger. "I'm sorry, I did that in anger", he apologized. "Go and say to him", I said. "If required, then only for you, I'll do that too, but trust me, he'll be fine", Shubh said, forced a smile and went from there.
