Prompt: Gingerbread decorating.

Katsuki wasn't overly upset with the idea of getting his hands messy by decoration and building a ginderbread house from the pack they bought at the shop. He knew his, sometimes an clueless asshole and sometimes rather sweet boyfriend, didn't have much of a childhood or held many fond memories that didn't spoil over time.

So, seeing his sometimes adorable but sometimes annoying boyfriend light up at a gingerbread decoration kit, he bought it. Both agreeing to do it on Christmas even, after lunch, togehter.

And truly, Katsuki wasn't upset with that. He was rather happy on the inside over being able to give his beloved but idiotic partner a fond memory that they'd hopefully both cherish for many years in the future.

He simply wished he could have baked the templates of the ginderbead house himself. He knew how to cook and he was good at it. He didn't enjoy cooking for everyone but he took pride over the few chances he got to show off in front of the man he was hoping to spend the rest of his life with. He knew Shoto loved his cooking, always enjoyed it and seemed in a moment of bliss as he ate anything cooked by him.

Decorating a gingerbread house he baked himself would have made this decoration moment even more special. But he bit his lip and helped pull out all the different packages inside the box to set everything in it's own place.

"Do you want to do the frosting or hold the parts together while I frost?" Katsuki asked as he picked up the package that held the frosting inside and ripping at the dotted line.

"Can I frost?" Shoto asked with a glimmer in his eyes, seeming rather excited over the idea of being in charge of frosting.

"I wouldn't have asked what you wanted to do I was gonna just chose what you do for god shakes!" Katsuki huffed back in irritation as he shoved the frosting over to him.

"There isn't any gingerbread men" Shoto commented with a small frown as he glanced over at all the other bags left laid on the counter.

"So?" Katsuki asked with a raised eyebrow while grabbed the base of the house and placing it on top of the tray they'd be building it on.

"Who's going to live inside our mini house?" Shoto asked as if that's the most important question in the world.

"We're going to be eating it. I think it's best we don't have to bite the heads of a family inside too" Katsuki deadpanned as he grabbed one of the sides of the house and fitting it where it fits to make sure it'd stick properly before they even try adding the frosting.

"Might be best if we don't have to slaughter the poor family" Shoto agreed with a small nod as he got a better grip on the frosting package and seeming as if he was about to strangle it.

"Jesus" Katsuki cursed out under his breath and wondering if he was actually living with a hidden murderer.

Katsuki wasn't sure what had more frosting time the gingerbread house was built, the house itself or his hands and arms as he held them together. He bit his lip, trying his best to not snap and bite the head off his boyfriend for his messy handy work.

He thankfully distracted himself by washing his hands and using the cold water to cool his temper before returning to help decorate the house with all the sweets and pretty decorations left to do with. Taking over using the frosting while Shoto placed the decorations on.

Time they were done it seemed like a childhood art work had completely thrown up on their kitchen counter. A rainbow of colours mixed along with the mess and he did his best to not cringe at their finished gingerbread house.

He normally took a lot of pride and time in presenting his food to people. Even when some meals were never planned to look nice, he wanted them to look eatable and drool worthy. But their finished work as a tag team, he wouldn't even pass it over to a blind person.

It didn't stop him from picking up his phone and taking a couple of photos from different angles or being pulled into a selfie with his boyfriend who picked up the house to get it into the photo. Photos that he'd print off at the shop later and add to their growing album book that they had started on the first anniversary together. It was actually him who started the book up, adding photos over memories made together to remind his beloved but silly boyfriend over the good moments in his life and replace all the bad memories in his life, or as many as possible.

It wasn't anything romantic or a special day for them but it was one of their most happiness and he may have purposely not taken a single bite out of their hard work while he noticed his boyfriend was still admiring it and in awe over their creation. Until that sparkle left his eyes, he'd leave it on the table as decoration and proudly show it off.

Even if he did send it a death glare while laying on the sofa, cuddling his perfect boyfriend with lays of blankets.

Katsuki wasn't upset, not when his boyfriend slept so happily with the cutest smile on his lips. Even if annoying soft snores kept escaping those smiling lips out of tune to their clock making it impossible for him to drift off himself.

But it was Christmas eve, he'd let his boyfriend off this once and simply murder him in the morning for losing sleep.

And if he finally fell asleep with the last thing he saw was an ugly decorated gingerbread house, well, no one could prove he fell asleep with a fond smile on his lips.
