Day Eleven: JayDick.

HAVE SOME MERRY JOY!

HAPPY NEW VOTE!

Prompt: Hot Chocolate.

Side Note *Imporant*: Okay so in my family we've always called Travel mugs as Wake Up Mugs instead. Don't ask why, my nan called them that since long before any of her three daughters were born. Grandpa called them since marrying her and they stayed calling them even as they travelled with the army. So, all my life .. I had actually thought they were called "Wake up" mugs becuase no one has ever called them differently. Until Wattpad came along and people had no clue what I was talking about.

Long story short, I'll try my best to call them travel mugs but if I slip up .. then you know what I mean.

The warm and tastebuds heaven drink filled Jason with a happiness and warmth he'd never thought he'd be able to feel again. His gloved hands tighten from where they were alreayd wrapped around the travel mug even though he knew he couldn't feel any heat from the mug itself.

His eyes dazed over as old and joyful memories filled his mind over the time spent with the man who made such mouth watering hot chocolate. A small but fond smile tugging at his lips withought his knowledge and being on full display as his helmet was left sitting on the edge beside him.

"Worth not shooting me?" Dick asked with a cheeky grin from where he's huddled beside his little wing, his own travel mug held in his hands.

"For now" Jason admits with a small nod.

"Worth not shooting me all night?" Dick asks hopeful, his cheeky grin never leaving his lips as he already knows he won't be getting shot tonight. Not by him at least.

"Don't push your luck. You can't be rather annoying" Jason huffed back in irritation as they both know he won't be attacking him. Not with the peace offering held in his hands.

"I think I deserve a whole week of not being shot at. I did bring these from the manor itself. They're both freshly made and still warm time I reached you. It wasn't easy getting them here" Dick whined back with a pout as he looked into his travel mug, the lid slipped into his glove department ages ago.

"I didn't ask for any" Jason pointed out but clearly clinging onto the travel mug and ready to throw fists to keep the drink to himself even he tried taking it back.

"It's almost Christmas. You might not want to spend the day with us but your still family. Plus, you're my hot chocolate buddy. None of the other bat's worship Alfred hot chocolate like we do. It get's a little lonely having to drink one by myself while keeping the drinks honour as the rest through childish insults towards it" Dick rambled back with a sweet smile, frowning a little as he mentioned the rest of the bat clan not respecting the godly drink as they should be.

"Didn't Alfred ever make hot chocolate for them?" Jason asked a little puzzled as he liked the idea over him and dick being the only ones served such a delicious drink but it didn't seem the butler to let them go without any.

"Only when they get badly hurt. We're the only two who actually lights up when offered his famous hot chocolate. The other's don't cherish or respect it as much. Tim is more into coffee and Damian is more into tea. Stephanie and Cass would rather have iced drinks and Babs don't stay long enough to drink any. Bruce.. I've got no clue if he actually likes it or not but I've never seen him drink any before" Dick sighed with a small frown on his lips and his gaze drifting elsewhere while he thought over all his siblings drink preferences compared to their own.

"And so you desperately fly across the city to bring me a cup.. you're really a strange one, Big bird" Jason commented with a light shake of his head, glad his mask was hiding the fondness in his eyes.

"I didn't fly" Dick blurted out completely serious.

"Huh?" Jason breaths out in confusion.

"I ran from the mansion to across the city and climbed the fire escape to reach this roof. It took a lot of hard work to not spill a single drop and I knew even with t he lids on that I'd spill some if I grappled here with them. I speeded walked on foot from the mansion kitchen to here" Dick explained how he got the drinks from freshly made in the kitchen by Alfred himself to all the way to the other side of the city on this roof. He took some pride in getting here quick enough for the drinks to still be warm and drinkable while never spinning a drop. He wanted to be praised for such a well done job.

"Dressed as nightwing?" Jason asked he glanced over his uniform.

"Dressed as nightwing" Dick confessed with a nod.

"Dedication" Jason replied rather proud and impressed by him.

"Hence you can't shoot me for a whole week" Dick huffed out proudly.

"I'll accept that. I think I would have actually shot you if you did end up wasting any of the hot chocolate by spilling some" Jason agreed with a grin, knowing when to give credit when it was deserved and he deserved it right now.

"Thank you. It's hard finding a fellow comrade who'd cherish this drink like it deserves and I wasn't going to risk missing such a chance to drink some with you" Dick smiled back brightly and swinging his legs over the edge.

Neither say another word and simply enjoy sipping at their beloved hot chocolate. Eyes hidden by their domino masks as they watch over their beautiful city, Gotham might hold a decent and mean punch but she still holds such a rare beauty that keeps her people proud to call her home.

Crime has been slow for one night and both knew better than to push their luck by speaking such a fact out loud. The music of Gotham acting as an odd romantic tune for them both to listen to, the music formed by angry drivers, yells and all other sounds that make up the city at night.

Mugs still tightly wrapped in their glove hands and a comfort setting over them both as they admire the view and know why they call such a city their beloved home.

Neither minding as the oldest of the pair rests his head on top of the other's shoulder, completely relax and memorizing such a moment to both his brain and heart. His body not even tensing as the youngest snakes an arm around his waist, pulling him closer and letting their bodies heat mingle as one.

It wasn't Christmas yet but this was their dream present.

Extra:

Wayne Manor Christmas ball,

23rd of December...

Dick kept his back to the wall as he took in the thriving galra before him. Watching the guests dance close as slow and romantic songs played for them all to remind them all over the love ones they hold close this Christmas.

Dresses and suits each built with blinding colours to make up the Christmas themes or holding added charms to give off the Christmas try instead. Everything glimmered and shined in the ball room and almost seemed as magical as the season normally was known to be.

Laughs, raised happy voices and cheers echoed just barely above the music for those who took to talking and catching up with their fellow rich comrades. Barely any children in sight but a few small bit of entertainment was left tucked in a corner for those who did bring their children along and was left to enjoy themselves with the child friendly corner while their adults found their own joy in the gala.

Dick closed his eyes, a smile on his lips as he just let himself drift into the moment. Losing his Richie Wayne act for a moment and simply enjoyed the moment. The manor had grown in family over the years but it'd never be as lively and full of joy, happiness and love as it was when a Christmas gala came around.

The Christmas gala was his once chance to simply close his eyes and be reminded over his days at the circus with such a large family, a family not of blood. The laughs, the smiles, the food scents and air of happiness. It was always so familiar but forgotten sometimes to him.

A Gala had always lit up all the rooms and halls of the manor, brought life and joy back into it like it deserved. He loves his family, knows they love him just as much but they all carried their own scars and nightmares that it was hard to bring such real joy back for a day.

It was difficult to be a full family for a single night, a real family that didn't live a double life.

Known footsteps forced his eyes back open and he found himself staring up to blue-green eyes that shined with knowing.

Jason might not have been Robin long and got along with Dick full time but the two had their shared and hidden moments. Gave up their own secrets and told old stories that another soul would never hear about.

Just like his view on a Christmas gala at the manor.

"Seems like you could do with a drink" Jason confessed with a smirk as he held out one of the two wine glasses he was holding.

"That doesn't seem like wine" Dick pointed out with a worried frown, glancing to the brown liquid inside the wine glass.

"Because it isn't" Jason admitted as his smirk grew more.

He accepted the wine glass and felt a fading warmth from it. The scent catching his attention next and he raised a surprised eyebrow towards his little wing before risking a sip. A delightful and giggly smile filling his lips as he tasted the famous and beloved hot chocolate, perfectly made by Alfred as always.

"Thought you might want to drink something a little more classic than wine tonight. And if you ever repeat this next part to anyone I will shoot you but I find this much better than those rich wines being served" Jason mumbled back as he stepped closer and moving to stand beside him to keep his own eye on the galra around them better.

"I'd be willing to go to more galas if they served the good stuff like this" Dick confessed without any shame as he took another heavenly sip of his drink.

"Alfred would be even more overworked than he already is if that became true. But yeah, if this was served at every gala than I'd be happily going to them" Jason pointed out with a frown before nodding in agreement and knowing he'd be the first Wayne member to show up at a gala if they served Alfred hot chocolate.

"How did you even get Alfred to make you some?" Dick asked rather curious as he knew Alfred would never actually anything none gala acceptable to enter the ball room before.

"A favour for a favour. I was hoping since I was his favourite he'd simply do me this one request for free but that grandpa plays dirty. I've got to come to boxing day diner. Seems most of the bat brats would be leaving boxing day and are only staying for Christmas day so I won't have to worry over being outnumbered by you all. But I still have to be pleasant while eating on boxing day" Jason grumbled back with a scowl as he'd now how to suffer through one meal with Bruce and any other bat brat left over on boxing day at diner time.

"Is it worth such suffering worth it?" Dick asked with an amused look but still silently grateful for the snuck in hot chocolate given to him.

"For Alfred hot chocolate .. of course it is. But your staying for boxing day too now. I need someone to keep the peace between me and the old man" Jason honestly answered as he'd do a lot for one of Alfred hot chocolates. Sending a threatening glare towards his big bird as he mentioned that he'd be staying on boxing day too.

"That's an impossible task but since you won Alfred over enough to give us hot chocolate at the gala, I'll try my best" Dick grinned back amused and knowing that boxing day was going to be rather eventful now.
