Chapter 4
"The babies are here!"
Seokjin, Yoongi, Hoseok, and Namjoon rush out to welcome us. Jungkook rushes over to Seokjin. He buries his head into the crook of his neck while embracing him.
Seokjin, shocked by the action, turns to Taehyung and I. "Did something happen?"
Taehyung and I turn to each other. Taehyung and I share a special bond. Him and I are able to read each other's thoughts.
Jungkook and I can too. But that's different.
This is supposed to be our last annual stay at the cabin. It would be a shame to worry the others when the vacation hasn't officially begun.
Taehyung cocks an eyebrow at me in understanding.
"We..w-we," he begins. "We..uh..we were run-"
"We were running around all morning getting ready and I'm exhausted," Jungkook interrupts.
Namjoon steps closer to him. "Why is the back of your vehicle dented?"
I forgot all about that. They'll want to call the police to report the driver... wait, we should call the police! We could be saving someone else's lives! Why didn't we think of that in the car?
Taehyung shrugs. "We were-"
"-getting food and I backed into another car. The driver told me to just go ahead." Jungkook looks in the direction of Taehyung and I. "He didn't want to call the police because he knew he'd be long gone by the time they got to the scene. I'm exhausted, I'm not in the best state to talk about this right now. May I go rest?"
Seokjin rubs his hand over Jungkook's head while humming. "Let's get you guys settled in."
It seems that my strong love for Jungkook causes him to be able to have mental three way conversations with him, Taehyung, and I.
"This is weird," Taehyung states as he stands in the doorway of the two bed bedroom.
I continue unpacking my luggage. "I said that you could stay with us, especially since this is our last year doing this."
There's a small smile on his face as he leans against the door frame. "I cuddle in my sleep Jimin, remember? I don't cuddle taken people."
"But you've snuggled with us both many times!"
"Just, no. I have to stop now because I can't cuddle with married people. That would be... weird."
I close my suitcase before stepping away from the bed. "You'll be rooming with Yoongi and Hoseok. I'm going to miss sharing scary stories with my bestie."
Taehyung walks over to me and mimics Jungkook when he laid on Seokjin's shoulder. "It'll be weird without you, Tae." It truly will be. I don't want Taehyung to ever exclude himself because of my relationship.
Jungkook walls into the room at that moment carrying Taehyung's luggage.
"Jungkook, what- "
"Taehyung, no. I think you placed your luggage in the wrong room."
"Baby-"
Jungkook comes between Taehyung and I, with his back to Taehyung. In a matter of seconds his hands are on his knees.
He starts to twerk.
"Jimin isn't fun to have twerk competitions with like you are."
This boy.
Taehyung giggles softly. My fiancé looks over his shoulder with a smirk as he continues to twerk. "Plus, if I marry Jimin I'm unofficially marrying you since you're his best friend. You're my brother. Jimin and I can stay innocent for a few days while you sleep with us."
"I am innocent!" I gasp.
Taehyung rolls his eyes before joining Jungkook in twerking. "Only until the honeymoon."
I'm happy that Jungkook reminded Taehyung that nothing has to change between us due to the engagement. I really am. That's one of the reasons I fell so hard for the man.
But they are not about to tag team me.
"Yah!" I push both of them, one by one, onto the nearest bed. "I will always be innocent and twerk competitions with me are fun! Do you two understand?"
Jungkook turns around and starts twerking on the bed. Taehyung is egging him on yelling "that's my best friend!"
"I bet you'd twerk under a blood moon with a bunny imprinted on it." I mumble. I turned to walk out of the room. I'll let them have their twer- bonding time.
Namjoon glances into the doorway as he walks by.
"Those poor wannabe ratchet souls," I hear him mumble from the doorway.
I join Namjoon in walking down the hallway. He gives a small smile before stepping into his room. I continue down the steps.
I eventually stumble upon Seokjin and Hoseok in the kitchen.
"Can I help?"
"Sure. I guess I'll ruin the surprise now and tell you that we'll be having mochi for dessert tonight." Seokjin smiles as Hoseok hands me a spare apron. I immediately move to the sink area to wash my hands. I then begin to clean and season the meat that Hoseok will be grilling tonight.
Idle chit chat and us gossiping causes time to fly. It's 7 p.m. before we know it.
Seokjin and I are now setting the outside table on our deck area. Hoseok is lighting mosquito repelling candles.
I steal a few pieces of the kimchi that Seokjin has prepared for the trip. He made two batches: one for our opening dinner and one for our last dinner.
I pour passion fruit white tea into each glass placed on the table. Seokjin comes behind me and pours cold water into each additional glass.
We're fancy.
We place the pitchers on the table before heading back inside. "Dinner is ready!" Seokjin calls from the end of the stairs. I go through the kitchen wiping down the counters. Hoseok is letting the grill's fire burn out.
Yoongi and Namjoon are the first to join us downstairs. They want to "ensure" that the meat is fully cooked. They also set up a cooler of iced drinks and beers.
I honestly think they want to sneak a few bites in before everyone else, but that's okay. I'm doing the same with this kimchi.
Jungkook and Taehyung finally join us. You can tell that both of them have napped. Jungkook sits at the end of the table across. I sit on the side of my fiancé. Hoseok is next to me. Across from him sits Seokjin, Taehyung, Yoongi, and Namjoon.
Jungkook reaches for my hand under the table.
Time continues to fly by. All of us, except Taehyung, are sipping on beer. He continues to sip his tea.
The night is going perfectly. It makes up for our horrifying day.
Jungkook gives a dry cough. All attention is on him as he stands. "I have an announcement."
I can't believe he's doing this so soon! But I won't make him hold this in any longer. I'm actually ready to have Seokjin help us plan the menu.
Maybe he'll make kimchi for our reception.
"You volunteer as tribute in the next Hunger Game?"
Everyone, including Jungkook, laughs at Seokjin's joke.
Jungkook reaches into his pocket and pulls out the familiar piece of jewelry. Everyone's eyes are on him. His right hand idly rubs through his hair. It's one of his nervous habits.
He's so adorable when he's nervous. It one of the few things that remind me that he's still the baby out of all of us.
My hand rubs his leg in comfort.
"As all of you may, or may not know, Jimin and I are in love." He fidgets from foot to foot. Taehyung flashes him a thumbs up in encouragement. "I-I love Park Jimin. I liked it, so I put a ring on it."
Everyone chuckles at the Beyoncé reference.
"He actually sang that to me guys," I giggle.
My fiancé seems to calm down as he takes my hand. He slides the ring onto my engagement finger. He reaches into his pocket, grabs his matching ring, and I repeat the gesture that he had just done to me.
He holds both of us hands in the air. "I know we usually have a special night at the campfire where we announce our goals and plans for the next year... But, I couldn't wait. I wanted you all to know that he is my first love and will be my last. Jimin and I are engaged."
Everyone stands from the table and gives a round of applause. I quickly jump to my feet to give him a peck on his cheek.
"And I'm the best man cause they're my best friends!" Taehyung yells over everyone's cheers. Jungkook points and winks at Taehyung in agreement.
Seokjin slaps Taehyung on the back of the neck. "We're all best friends." He scoffs.
My fiancé wraps his strong arms around me. It's a good feeling being surrounded by loving and supportive people.
He's smiling one of those smiles that make him look like a bunny.
I'm happy.
Taehyung claps his hands together to grab everyone's attention. "Jungkook told me that he actually bought champagne for this moment. I'm going to go get it."
Maybe it's because of the many glasses of champagne that were passed around but it's after midnight before we know it. Taehyung, despite disliking alcohol, even had two glasses!
Jungkook has Taehyung riding on his back while he begins to carry me bridal style to our room.
Such a nice, strong man.
"Such a nice, strong man that is mine," I giggle aloud.
We're halfway through the kitchen when Jungkook stops to stare at the island.
"I don't have more quarters to continue this ride," my best friend pouts. I giggle at Taehyung's drunken state. This is probably the second time I've ever seen him drunk.
Jungkook's tongue flicks across his lips before looking down into my eyes. "Doll, I thought you were the type to clean the kitchen as you cook."
"What you mean you thought? I am! Now start this ride back up."
My fiancé looks between the island and I once more before he starts to walk again.
"Somehow there's a bloody piece of chocolate mochi," he mumbles the himself.
That's the last thing I hear before I black out in my drunken state.
• Why do you think Jungkook hid the collision from the others?
Thank you dear viewers. As of today, 26 August 2018, I noticed that this story is currently ranked #414 out of 5.2k stories in the "suspense" category.
It may not be high to you, and may not seem like much, but it's still a ranking so I'm taking it!
Thank you all so much! I hope you buckle up and continue to support me on this wild ride.
