Today was the day. The day Harry and Louis would adopt their first child. They were both beyond nervous, but they were also equally excited. The two hadn't decided on if they were getting a boy or a girl, so they agreed that they would know the right one when they saw them.

They pulled up the the adoption agency and walked inside. They could hear muffled laughing from the back of the building.

"Hello, how are you?"

"Oh, good, good," Harry said with a big grin on his face. Louis grabbed his hand and gently squeezed it. Harry looked down at his starry eyed fiancé. He could tell how excited he was and that made his excitement grow even more.

"How can I help you two gentlemen today?" The receptionist asked with a kind smile.

Harry looked down at Louis again, "We're here to pick a little munchkin and fill out the papers so we can take them home as soon as possible." Harry smiled at the lady.
"Any specific age or anything?"

"We don't care about the sex of the child, but we are looking for one between the ages of one and two."

"Okay, right this way." The lady led them to the room where the young toddlers were.
The lady stood at the door way while Harry and Louis looked around. There was a specific little girl that caught their eye. She had long-ish brown hair and big, beautiful green eyes. The two nodded at each other, for they knew she was the one.

Harry and Louis walked back to the lady, which they now knew was named Jessica, and told them about the little girl.

"Okay, if you two could have a seat in the room right there, and my boss will be with you momentarily."

Louis said thank you as they walked in to an office and sat down. "I'm so excited," Louis said while hugging Harry's arm.

"Me too," Harry said as a man walked in to the office. "Hello, gentlemen. My name is Mike," Mike shook their hands before taking a seat behind the desk.

"I hear you found a little girl you liked."

"Yes, she's the one with medium length brown hair and the green eyes," Harry said with a smile.

"Ah, yes, she's a sweet one. One second while I get her file," Mike opened a filing cabinet and pulled out a file for the little girl and handed it to Harry. Harry opened it and read it over with Louis. The little girl's name was McKenna Rae and she was about a year and half old.

"Is she the one you wanted?"

The two looked up at Mike. "Yeah, she's the one."

"Great, I'll go get her so you can talk to her for a second, and then we'll fill out the paperwork, yeah?" Mike walked out of the office and came back about two minutes later with McKenna holding his pinky. McKenna let go of his hand and looked at Louis and Harry.

"McKenna, these are going to be your new daddies."

McKenna stared at them for a second before a smile grew on her face, "Yay!!" She ran over and hugged them as best as she could with her tiny arms and they hugged her back.

Jessica walked in, "Okay, McKenna, come on. You'll be able to hug them all you want one day." She took her hand and led her back to the toddler room.

Mike sat back down behind his desk and got out all the paperwork. It was a lot, but Harry and Louis knew it would be worth it.

They finished the paperwork in about an hour and half.

"Now you do know that you can't take McKenna home today, right? It can take as little as two years to as most as seven. We still need to get a background check on you and need to see your home to make sure it's a safe and clean environment."

"Yes, we know."

"Okay, so when can we arrange for a home visit?"

About two and half years later, McKenna finally came home. Just in time for her fourth birthday as well! It was in two weeks, on October 23rd.

Harry and Louis, along with McKenna, were all the happiest they've ever been. The two were excited to see her grow up and see what an amazing woman she would become.

But for now, they were just happy to see her in her new home.
