The Inflatables
A one shot where Harry and Louis are at day care and meet up in one of the inflatables and it sparks something in both of them.

"Harry, come with me!" Louis, barely 5 years old, exclaims as he points at the small inflatable in front of him. Harry, a little younger but not by much, nods, running after his best friend.
Harry and Louis were both going to the same day care. Every Friday they would take the kids somewhere fun to play, and today it happened to be Walzoos a place full of inflatables. Harry and Louis were known for being best friends and did everything together, so nobody suspected the two running off together.
"Shhh, we can hide here!" Louis says, grabbing Harry's hand and pulling him into the corner of a 4 Wheel inflatable. Harry was used to Louis being the leader out of the two and went along with most of Louis' crazy ideas, even if it meant landing him in time out, but it didn't matter because he was with Louis.
"Louis, are you sure we're supposed to hide? Mrs. Peatland isn't going to be happy if she can't find us!" Harry whines, as Louis takes a seat and pulls Harry to sit next to him.
"We'll be fine; Mrs. Louise won't care. Why don't we play Truth!" Louis says, trying to calm down his rule-following friend. Louis just wanted to have a fun time, and being around a bunch of other kids screaming and yelling wasn't much fun in Louis' opinion.
"Okay, did you know you can kiss people on the lips?" Harry asks. Harry had kissed his mom on the cheek before, but he once saw his mom and dad kissing on the lips. He wasn't sure what the gesture meant, so he decided to ask his friend.
"Duh! You kiss people on the lips when you think they're pretty. You kiss someone's cheek if they're your family." Louis explains. Harry thinks about this for a second.
"I think you're pretty, does that mean I can kiss you on the lips?" Harry questions, still not understanding the whole kissing thing. Harry wasn't lying, he did think that Louis was very pretty, but he had never seen two boys kiss, not even his family!
"I don't know! I think you're pretty too, Harry." Louis mutters, blushing and looking down at his hands. Harry's eyes widen. Louis thought Harry was pretty? Did that mean that they could kiss each other on the lips?
Louis placed one of his small hands on Harry's waist. Harry looked up at Louis, his eyes widening again as Louis moved closer. Louis pushed his lips onto Harry's and for a second everything stopped. The boys were young so they didn't know much about feelings, but they both knew that whatever happened they liked it.
They stayed like that, lips touching, neither of them knowing what to do for a while. Harry moved his hand to touch Louis' face and Louis held on tighter to Harry, worried he would run away if he let go.

"Mommy are boys allowed to kiss other boys on the lips?" Harry asks, when he gets home. He was sitting at the dining room table, a coloring book opened. He was neatly coloring in a picture of a princess as his mother cooked. She stopped what she was doing and turned to look at her 5-year-old.
"There's nothing wrong with it, but why are we talking about kissing anyone on the lips?" Anne asks, her hand going to her hip as she moves towards her son. Harry looks up, his eyes sparkling as he thinks back to what Louis did in the inflatable.
"Louis and I kissed on the lips today at Wazoos!" Harry exclaims. Anne wanted to tell Harry that he was way too young to be kissing people on the lips, but the way he lighted up when Harry talking about him, Anne didn't have the heart. She shrugged it off, she was sure that it was just a crush and that soon enough they would both grow out of it.
Boy was she in for it.

"Lou, the movie is in!" Harry calls. They were 11 now and Louis was spending the night at Harry's house. Harry had spent nearly all afternoon making the perfect fort in their living room for Louis and him to sleep in, granted his dad did help a little bit.
"Okay! Let me change into my pajamas!" Louis calls back from Harry's room. Harry was excited for Louis to be spending the night. They had continued to be best friends after they started school, but neither of their parents thought they were old enough to be spending nights at each other's houses yet. They started off small with simple play dates, but as the boys got older the amount of time they wanted to stay together increased as did their feelings for each other.
Louis quickly changed out of his jeans and into a pair of sweatpants, trading in his Spiderman T-shirt for a white tank top. He dashed back into the living room, not wanting to waste his first sleepover away from Harry.
Ever since their kiss at Wazoos the boys' feelings grew for each other. Although both of them were way too shy to tell the other what the felt, they both resulted in being very touchy and jealous of the other. This caused some of their other friends to stop hanging out with the pair because they never seemed to include everyone else.
"Come inside!" Harry says, opening the 'door' so Louis had room to climb in. The inside was small, but was covered with blankets and pillows. Harry had turned on Scooby-Doo for the pair to watch, but both of them were too nervous to focus on the movie.
After the movie was over, Louis and Harry sat up, looking at each other, "Louis, I heard this girl Hannah at school saying she was dating someone. Do you know what dating is?" Harry asks. The way their friendship worked hadn't changed much, Harry was still the innocent one that asked Louis the questions.
"You date someone when you like them, but the other person has to like you too. Then you two are allowed to like hold hands and kiss and stuff. It's like how Moms and Dads act, you know?" Louis explains. Harry taps his chin, thinking over the new information.
"So, how do you ask someone to date you?" Harry questions. He wanted to date Louis, but he didn't know how it worked. Did he just say will you date me or is there a process you have to go through?
"No, you just both decide on it. I saw these two 5th graders kissing on the playground, the other one said that they were dating after they kissed. There are lots of ways I guess." Louis says, not quite sure himself.
"We kissed, but we aren't dating," Harry points out. They hadn't kissed since the incident 6 years ago, but both always thought of it. After learning more about kissing and stuff, both were too nervous to kiss the other.
"We were young then it doesn't count."
"So if we kissed now would that mean we were dating?" Louis shrugs. Not knowing for himself. Harry thinks this through for a second, deciding he wanted to date Louis.
He reached forward, his hand shaking as he touched Louis' small waist. Louis gasped as Harry pulls him towards him and places their lips together for the second time in their short lives. Louis moves closer to Harry as soon as he realizes what was going on. He moves his hand to Harry's neck, doing what he saw the 5th graders doing. Both didn't want to pull apart, but desperate for air, they do.
"Does that mean we're dating?" Harry asks, out of breath.
"I hope so."

It was 20 years later and the two boys were laying in their large bed, staring at each other. Louis smiled up at his husband of 3 years and longtime best friend. If someone were to tell him that he would end up marrying the first guy he ever kissed, then he would've laughed in his face.
Contrary to the popular belief, Louis and Harry found a way to stay together through their schooling. Of course they had loads of fights and it was a hard thing for both to keep up with they always seemed to figure it out before it ended in a breakup.
Harry thought the best thing about Louis for so long was the look on people's face when he told them that they had been together for 20 years. Most of them didn't believe it, but when Harry explained what happened and how they managed they just looked shocked.
"I love you, you know that?" Louis whispers, pressing a kiss to his lover's forehead. Harry smiles and moves his head down to capture their lips. They weren't scared of kissing each other anymore. Harry can still remember being 11 and terrified that he would do something wrong, but now he looked back on it and laughed. It was a good thing that Harry found the courage to ask Louis about it or maybe they wouldn't've been here now. Together.
"I've known that for 13 years, babe." Harry chuckles, wrapping his arms around Louis a little tighter. He loved holding him and he knew that Louis loved to be held. Although Louis told everyone he was the big spoon he was lying through his front teeth, when they were younger he had been, but now Harry was the big spoon.
"Don't be sarcastic with me, sir. Jesus, I try to be romantic," Louis teases. Pushing his bottom lip out and narrowing his eyes. Harry finds this too cute to resist.
"Oh shut up and kiss me." Harry sighs, planting a kiss on Louis' cheek. Louis turns around in his arms, so this back was on Harry's chest. Harry doesn't let this stop him, going to the boy's neck and feathering baby kisses there.
"That tickles! Stop!" Louis whines, laughing as he pushes Harry away from his neck. Louis turns around and glares at him, but Harry only rolls his eyes.
"We need to sleep Harry; we have to go pick up James tomorrow from the foster place!" Louis reminds him. Harry remembers now why Louis had insisted they went to bed so early to begin with.
"Okay, Mr. Responsible. I'll go to bed." Harry sighs, placing one last kiss on Louis' shoulder before closing his eyes and falling to sleep.
