I woke up,rushed out to clean myself.Lionflame seemed to have a talk to Dewstar."Well,guess now we doing separate training,your brother will do different times of training"Lionflame spoke.I nodded,"today,you will be do elder's ticks!!"I mewed sadly"nooo!!"I grunted and mumbled,"Hey Shimmerpaw,I need some mouse bile for elders."I asked."okay,Here you go!"Shimmerpaw mewed as she gave mouse bile to me.I walk out,Berrypaw and his mentor Crowfoot both left camp,as Shadepaw and Sorrelclaw followed.I sighed,"awww,finally!These ticks are annoying as Featherstone's snoring!"Dapplepelt snorted with amusement."Hey!!"Featherstone hissed back.I scrubbed the bile on fur.

"Aww!ooohhh yea!You hit the spot!"Dapplepelt purred.After a few heartbeats,I padded out,and went to wash my paws.I walked back to camp.I padded out,"Hey Lionflame!I am done!Can we go hunt?"I asked,Lionflame nodded.We scurried out of camp.

My fur bristled with joy,my paws touch squishy ground and trees waved in strong breeze,breeze flooded my pelt.I sniffed the air,open my mouth.The aroma of forest and some prey!!But where?

I saw some movement,My eyes shot at place of movement,A rabbit was eating some grass,it's cotton tail gave it away.I lowered down,going in Hunter crouch mode,I slowly sneak upon distracted rabbit,I jump.My paws trap the prey as my teeth delivered final blow.I held my rabbit with pride."Wow!Great Job"Lionflame mewed,his mouth had a dead vole.

By time we arrive at camp,The sun was close to set.My mother exited as we entered,"Where are you going??"I dropped prey and asked.my head tilted,"Just for a walk,You wanna go?"I run to pile and came back.

I could use a walk and maybe a drink.I tod my mother,I was thirsty.She nodded in agreement ,we arrive at river and small stream that met up,I dipped my tongue and scooped some water.Oakstep gave me a weird face,"Huh?"I murmured.Before I know it,a flash of brown fur pushes me.

At same time,A yowl of pain.I stumble on my paws,to see a long slender creature dangling on my mother's neck.A adder had bit my mother!It held on tight,it fangs sank deeper.I swiped the snake off,adder hissed and before it attacked.I swiped again,it flew in river.

Okastep coughed and she fell to her side,Her breathing was shallow."Mother!!"I yelped."Arrggh!!The poison stings like Million bees!"Oakstep mewed.She moaned in pain,"Well*Cough*I guess this i-is goodbye.."Oakstep mewed,her head fell down as her eyes rolled back.

Oakstep was limp and showed no signs of life."Oakstep?Oakstep!Mother!Noooooo!!no!"I yowled.I carried my mother,returning to camp,gasps of horror were made.Many cats rushed at me."A adder bit her!She saved me!"I yelped in sorrow,collapse.Tears slither on my face.

Shadepaw was shocked,as his nose touched Oakstep's.Crowfoot flatten his ears and as his tears drop,ground drained our tears.All those close to my mother did sharing tongues before elders carried her away.

"She promise that she would be there when we were warriors.."I mutter to myself.Also it been a few moons,Oakstep had one more kit,she named them.Sunkit,A golden fur kit.Left without a mother,my little brother will never know sweet and loyal Oakstep.

I cleaned the kit.I gave him to Splash,Dewstar's mate to suckle the kit . Splash was not a fighter,she just a queen who helped out.
