Good- Bye Blues (Extra Chapter)
(Y/n)'s P.O.V.
My life with Lapis couldn't have been more beautiful than life itself. More than anything, I treasured her more than my newly found gift of sight and I'd give it up in a heartbeat if it meant keeping Lapis at my side. For the few months we had been married, we were as inseparable as the time out relationship was just getting up off the ground. Still, I didn't smother her, I knew how much Peridot, Steven and the other Gem meant to her so time an time again she would never forget about Peridot and Pumpkin and visit them regularly. I came to the barn on the occasion as well but I never wanted to intrude on Lapis's time with her friends but on this particular day, something told me I had to see her. It was a deep, caring but gnawing feeling and it felt bad and urgent. I didn't know what it was and it made me nervous to the point my vision started to get blurry as I ran the whole way to the barn with my breathing getting uneven and heavy. I was tired but I wouldn't stop until I reached my destination.
I didn't know what I expected to find when I got there. I prayed that Lapis was ok, I was sure that she was until I caught sight of her. I was just coming into the distance when I heard Lapis speak a very serious sentence with her eyes cast down in an extremely powerful gaze.
Lapis: I'm not getting caught up in the middle of another war.
She said coldly. As confused as I was and fearing this awful feeling in my chest. I could only look up at her and watch as she used her hydro kinesis to lift the barn into the air as she spread her wings. From that point, she looked back one last time to get a final glimpse at Steven, Peridot and Pumpkin, only to lose her composure when she saw me. In surprise, Peridot, Steven and Pumpkin had also shifted their eyes on me.
Lapis: (Y/n)!
Lapis said with great worry. She dropped the barn in an instant, causing it to come crashing down into it's long since fixed position in the earth. The ground shook like an earthquake.
Lapis: (Y/n)....I-I didn't want you to see me like....I....
(Y/n): I had the feeling that something was going on with you but I didn't think it was anything I had to worry about. What is it your not telling me?
Lapis: You weren't suppose to see me leaving-
(Y/n): WHAT! YOUR LEAVING?!
I said in great desperation and heartbreak.
Lapis: I wish I could explain everything to you and I wish I could have told you about this but I can't, I just can't, you wouldn't understand. We need to leave right away. I'd never let the Diamonds hurt you, you remember the things I told you about them, right?....But it'll be ok, you can come with me, it'll just be you and me forever and ever, we'll be safe.
Lapis said as she clutched my hands in hers and looked at me with a pleading and loving expression as tears threatened to fall from her eyes.
(Y/n): Lapis, you know that your my wife and I wouldn't think of ever staying here on Earth without you but my biology literally won't let me go. I can't breathe in space and there's no food, plus I'd freeze to death.
Lapis seemed heartbroken as I explained things to her. It looked as if she had truly forgotten that I was a human and bringing me to space would mean an instant death. She was quiet for a moment as her eyes were cast down before she looked at me for what might be the last glimpse I've me that she'd ever get.
Lapis: I wish I had more time with you. It huts me to leave you but the time I spent with you were the greatest days of my time on Earth. I would take your house with me too but you need it more than I do. Besides, I need someone to look after our things.
(Y/n): Don't tell me your not coming back.
I said in distress as I squeezed Lapis's hand tightly, refusing to let go. I waited for Lapis to reply but she was as quiet and somber.
Lapis: I have to go now.
She simple said as she spread out her water wings.
Lapis: I'll always love you.
She said lowly before giving me a final kiss. I thoroughly enjoyed the sensation of her soft warm lips on my and I would have done anything to make it last a bit longer. That partucluar kiss that I knew would be my last, felt more exhilarant that the numerous ones we had before, it was overflowing with love and feeling. I wanted to hold her in my arms and wish that what I was experiencing today was nothing more than a bad dream and yet when I tried to wrap my arms around Lapis, she broke away from me and took to the air. The rumbling sound of the barn echoed as she lifted it from the ground and rose higher and higher and faster and faster. She didn't look back, not because she didn't want to but because she couldn't bare to see me, knowing my expression would make her decisions to leave even more heart crushing but I knew if she had the choice, she would never do something like this.
For the final time, that was probably the last I'd ever see of my wife and I could do nothing but watch as she became nothing but a black dot into the sky before disappearing altogether. My eyes left the sky, even when she was long gone and soon enough, Peridot and Steven who were just affected by Lapis, departure, had came over to console me.
Steven: (Y/n)....I....I don't even know what to say. I don't think there is anything I can say that can make you feel better....
Steve said as he clearly understood the way I was feeling.
Steven said as he stood by my side. Peridot and pumpkin were silent with grief.
Peridot: What are you going to do (Y/n)?
Peridot asked, fully aware of the deep emotionally impact Lapis's departure would have on me.
(Y/n): I don't know Peridot, I just want my wife....
I said as I shed I single tear. I didn't want to acknowledge it but from that day on, I spend majority of my time looking up at the sky hoping that Lapis would one day appear again....but she never did.....
