Third Person P.O.V.

(Y/n) didn't say anything earlier but he realized that Lapis didn't wear shoes. It just reminded him of Rose. (Y/n) remembered hearing that she didn't wear shoes either. He thought it was odd as I fixed up a quest room Lapis. Meanwhile, Lapis had taken up the offer of exploring (Y/n)'s huge home. In fact, she was sure his one house was composed of two houses. The upstairs and down stair parts of the house could easily be considered it's own separate home. Looing around, lapis spotted that (Y/n) had a thing for old, antique looking furniture that was more often than not, very expensive, well polished and colorful.

The way he decorated his house was much like the barn, random but still something you could easily call home. The floors creaked only slightly under her feet. (Y/n) was right about Lapis being light on her feet unlike someone as heavy as Garnet. Lapis was still very unfamiliar with a lot of things on Earth, especially with some human items but the more she explored the more she became interested in what she could find. The halls were decorated in fine art, some of people, some of themes Lapis could not guess and then when she reached the end of the hall, there was somewhat of a decorated shelf filled with pictures. No doubt these were framed pictures of (Y/n) and his family. Lapis was curious about (Y/n)'s past, after all, everyone had one. She was curious as to what his mother was like. She wanted to know what little (Y/n) was like and she wanted to ask him what it feels like to grow up.

She couldn't imagine a gem being born so small. if they were, they'd be useless but human were different, more different than she could fully understand on her own. Leaning forward, one particular picture caught her eye. It was a picture of (Y/n) but even younger and wrapped in a blanket though she was sure this was him, his mother held him in her arms but he had no father or anyone else. it was just the two of them.

Lapis reached a hand forward to grab the picture frame but a creek beside her, caused her to be startled and dropped the frame, causing the glass to break right down the middle. Looking to her side, she saw it was (Y/n).

Lapis: I-I'm sorry-

(Y/n): It's fine, don't worry about it. It's and old picture anyway.

(Y/n) said before he bent down and picked up the frame, placing it back in it's proper location but taking the time to make it straight.

Lapis: Your still awake. I thought you would have gone to bed?

(Y/n): But I never showed you your room and besides, sleeping is difficult for someone like me.

Lapis could relate to this. gem's could sleep but it wasn't necessary so doing it was pointless and most gems don't understand dreams anyway.

(Y/n): When your blind, all you ever see is a blank black nothingness. That's also what you see when you sleep so it's hard for us to sleep or even know if we're sleeping at all. For all I know, I could be asleep right now and you could be nothing more than a dream.

Lapis: But your a human, you have to sleep right?

(Y/n): It's best if you don't think about it. I'll be fine but truthfully I'd rather stay awake.

Lapis: I don't sleep either. I've tried but I always see things I don't want to. In a way, I've been asleep in other situations for a while. I want to be in control.

(Y/n): Same here........by the way., why do you call me "human"? Rose always did the same thing as if she wasn't a human herself.

(Y/n) chuckled to himself.

(Y/n): I never understood her.......

A silence wafted over as the two talked in the hall. Lapis let out a sigh before turning to (Y/n) and taking one of his hands in hers.

(Y/n): What is it?

(Y/n) questioned.

Lapis didn't say anything more before turning her back to (Y/n) and leading his hand towards her gem. For a moment, (Y/n)'s hand fidgeted against her back and the expression on his face was obviously a confused one. His hands were not cool like before but much warmer and felt her gem closely as he tried to understand exactly what he was touching.

(Y/n): Hold on....so this thing seriously imbedded into your back?!

He said in disbelief.

Lapis smiled at his reaction.

Lapis: I told you before. I'm a gem but you didn't believe me.

(Y/n): S-so....all this time Rose wasn't crazy? She was an actual Rose Quartz Gem? Now I feel so stupid and confused. Does everyone know about this? How is that even possible? Are you, ok?

Lapis: Ok?

(Y/n): It just seems like having a gem in your skin would hurt.

Lapis: No, I'm fine.

(Y/n): Why did you reveal this to me?

Lapis: You told me so much about yourself but you didn't know anything about me. I wanted to share something meaningful with you. I wanted to trust you with something important just like you did.

(Y/n): Well....I'm glad you trust me.....your gem feels....very smooth. I'd ask you what color it is but.....

Lapis: It's blueish and I wish you could see it and see me. I'm also blue.

(Y/n): Blue skin? That actually sounds cool....so,exactly where are you from, tell me everything about yourself?

Lapis: Some gems where made here on Earth but I'm frmhomeworld, another gem planet.

(Y/n): Your really far from home.

Lapis: This is my home now. I could never go back to homeworld. The Earth is fine but it's not really my home or where I want to be sometimes.

(Y/n): You could stay with me if you want.

(Y/n) said on impulse without realizing the words that slipped past his lips. Lapis looked up at him in surprise.

(Y/n): Was that too soon? Just forget I said anything.

Lapis: No....that....actually sounds nice. I feel comfortable in your house somehow,like it's what I've been searching for all this time. Why did you move out here anyway?
