Third Person P.O.V.

Lapis flew back towards the barn in a hasty manner. When the red barn started to get bigger as she neared it, the rain slowly let up and the Sun showed it's brightness once again. Steven and the gems seemed in a hurry to get back to the temple. She was sure that had something important on their mind.

Amethyst: Come on let's go.

Steven: I love going on missions.

Steven and Amethyst were filled with excitement as Pearl turned to Peridot to thank her and for her hospitality.

Pearl: Thank you for having us Peridot.

Peridot: Of course, stop by anytime.

Peridot said as she waved to everyone. Right after the gems and Steven were out of sight, Lapis landed next to them as her wings retracted back into her gem.

Peridot: Lapis, you missed the game. Garnet ended up winning. Even with my careful planning, I kept going bankrupt or ending up in prison. The car was suppose to be the lucky piece.

Lapis: Better luck next time I guess.

Peridot: You seem....distracted. Did something happen while you were flying about?

Lapis looked behind her towards the trees beyond. The faint picture of the old rundown house from before floated into her mind before it faded into nothing more than a past memory.

Lapis: No, everything was fine.

Time skip..........

Lapis's P.O.V.

A week had passed since I had really gone out flying like that time when it was raining. I had went back deeper into the countryside just to pass by that house below one more time just to make sure it was empty because if it was, it could be my new personal home or at least a place for me to get some alone time. I'm sure I'd be able to fix it up. Though I found myself circling the house like a bird of prey rather than actually going up to it and checking it out. For three days I passed by it and I never knew what I was doing it. I was sure nothing was down there but for the rest of the week I only became more and more curious about the house. Then I just decided to finally go fly down there and when I did, up in the sky I could see a tiny moving black dot that came out of the house.

For a moment, I watched it from above before it went back inside again. Slowly descending until I was standing a few feet in front of the house. Maybe I should let them know I'm near by so that I don't scare them.

Lapis: Hello? Is anyone home?

I called out but I didn't get an answer. I was about to call out again before the door suddenly flew open. I couldn't see inside the house. It was as dark as the night and from within the darkness, a human came forward and yelled with a rather deep and annoyed voice.

???: What do you want?!

Observing him, I saw that it was a human male. He had wavy, (hair color), his skin color looked much paler than what I've seen on other human. He's was rather tall and wore a long sleeved dark blue shirt with black pants and brown shoes. He stood before me and I didn't know how I should react to hi. One part of me said to fly away and the other said to attack him on impulse but something wasn't right. One unique feature this human had was his eyes. I never seen eyes like his or on any human. They were almost greyish white color, almost lifeless with no pupils, kind of like mine were when my gem was cracked before Steven fixed it.

He was standing right in front of me and looking right at me or at least I thought it was. His reaction was off and he looked around, insisting that he really didn't see me.

???: Jamie? Is that you? If you have my mail just give it to me and leave. I know you don't like being here any longer than you have to, you coward.

He started to come down the houses stairs slowly. Touching the rails to help himself down. He then started to put his hands in front of him, trying to feel around for this Jamie who I assumed was his mailman. I tried not to move or make any noise to test my theory. I slowly waved a hand in front of his face. He was inches away from me and not even realizing it. he didn't react or see my hand in front of his face, he merely continued to move his head and look around.

???: Your not hiding behind the tree again, are you?

He said before going over towards a very noticeable apple tree right next to his house. I followed after him. I didn't get far when he suddenly turned towards me and grabbed for the air. I quickly moved backwards so that he could not grab onto me.

???: Jaimie?

He called out again before pulling his hand in. He only grabbed air.

???: Hmmmm....

He said lowly before he put his hands up in front of himself again, feeling around to find his way back into his house before shutting the door. I didn't understand. What was wrong with him. Could he really not see? I wasn't an expert on humans or anything but I knew who was. Spreading my wings, I wasted no time in going off to find Steven but then I realized he would be busy on a mission and so I thought to myself, what other human do I know? Then I thought of Steven's Dad Greg. Greg was just as good as Steven, he was human too after all, he took me fishing one time and Greg often liked to hang out at this place called the car wash.

Just like I expected, he was there and I landed right next to him and he seemed very surprised to see me.

Greg: Oh Lapis, hey, I really didn't expect to see you here.
