Third. P.O.V.

Lapis had been with (Y/n) for two days and like she promised, she would visit Peridot regularly and that was something (Y/n) understood well. He wanted to come along with her. In her two days, she had made him inseparable and seeing Lapis without (Y/n) would look rather strange. In that short, (Y/n) had also gotten adapted to flying with Lapis. It was something wondrous that he wished he could do with Lapis.

Lapis was a very strong and fast flyer so it didn't take long for her to arrive at the bar. She could already spot Peridot from below. Peridot also looked up at the shadow looming over her as Lapis landed but upon seeing she had brought (Y/n) along, she went inside of the barn where the two followed after her.

Peridot: Why did you bring IT along. This is just OUR barn.

Peridot said sourly.

Peridot: I'm not letting him listen to any music or letting him touch the meepmorps we made.

Peridot sud with her arms crossed.

(Y/n): I'll just got over here then....

(Y/n) said before shuffling aside to give Peridot and Lapis some time alone together.

Peridot: Why do you even keep that human around. He's not like Steven, he  isn't a half gem and he's basically useless.

Lapis: You don't have to say those things just because I chose to stay with him and not you.

Lapis shot back at her.

Peridot: But we're supposed to be barn mates forever. Look around, look at all the meepmorps we made and al the music. What about my first bubbled gem.

Peridot pointed at the green bubbled gem above.

Peridot: It'll be so much prettier if your blue bubbles were up there too. Blue and green basically complement each other so come back and lived with me.

Lapis gave a low sigh.

Lapis: You just don't understand Peridot. It's difficult to explain to you why I wanted to live with Y/n) but maybe some day you'll understand.

Peridot: I do understand. You like (Y/n) more than me.  You even changed your appearance for him even though there was nothing wrong with you before. What's so great about him anyway. He's just trying to be Garnet with those glasses.

Peridot angrily went over to (Y/n) and started to flail her arms at him. It wasn't very affective but it sure was annoying.

(Y/n): Ow, stop that.

Peridot: The point is to inflict pain on you!

Peridot yelled as she continued her actions. Considering (Y/n) was much taller than her, it just looked like a toddler trying to smack an adult with their baby hands. Soon enough though, Lapis came over and easily pried Peridot from (Y/n).

Peridot: See! You do prefer him over me. Why? Is it because he's taller than me or because he has better hair than me? At least I can see!

Lapis: Peridot!

Lapis scolded.

Peridot: Grrrr. Fine. Prove your loyalty.

Lapis: What?

Peridot left momentarily to go deep into the barn and return with something in her hand.

Peridot: This is one of my most favorite meepmorps. My precious tape recorder. I want you to bubble it and wherever it goes, I'll know who you really consider your home to be with.

Peridot handed the meepmorp off to Lapis who stared at it for e moment.

Peridot: Well go on.

Lapis had never bubbled anything. In fact, she thought you could only bubble a gem, however Steven does have a bubble shield but that could be an entirely different thing. Still, it didn't matter if she could bubble it or not or how Peridot would react to were her bubble ended up. Lapis had already made up her mind.

Without hesitation, a perfectly glowing blue bubble formed around the tape recorder.

Peridot: Now tap the top.

Lapis did and the bubbled shield disappeared. Peridot half expected it to pop up above the barn any minute now, only it didn't.

Peridot: So your home is with him. Fine then....I guess it's just me and Pumpkin now. I'm sure she would never leave me for a human.

Peridot said before walking out of the barn.

(Y/n): Lapis-

Lapis: It's fine.

Reader's P.O.V.

Lapis said quietly with her head hung slightly before she went over to (Y/n), grabbing my hand and gently pulling me out of the barn. Lapis and I walked in silence back to the house. We often did this on occasion but this was more of a depressing kind of silence that I thought I could fix. Lapis has to go through a lot of decisions concerning us and I honestly would understand if she had decided from the beginning not to stay with me. More importantly I knew it was good to give her space. Lapis though a lot and when she came to a conclusion she always knew what to do. I never wanted to cause in trouble for her. I didn't know Peridot cherished Lapis this much as a roommate but I understand why she wouldn't want to be by herself out here all the way in the middle of the country.

When we had gotten back to the house I already knew that the bubbled meepmorp was floating right in our kitchen. I knew this because it's light glow basically radiated onto my skin. Lapis had then spoke up shortly.

Lapis: I love you (Y/n). I really do and it's not that I'm choosing you over Peridot or the Crystal gems.

(Y/n): I know.

I said as I took a seat at the kitchen table.

Lapis: Tomorrow, I have a surprise for you. I want to than you for everything.

(Y/n): A surprise? It's not my birthday is it?

I asked because I have forgotten my own birthday on many occasion but as a baker I was never short on cake.

Lapis: Just know that you deserve it and I hope it makes you happy.

(Y/n): You make me happy more than anything else. I also have a surprise for you.

 I said in response.

Lapis: A double surprise....that'll work.

Lapis said before she reached across the table to squeeze my hand slightly.
