Fight Song

America ran as fast as his long legs could carry him and he didn't stop or look back until he knew he was on the other side of the building the G20 meeting was being hosted in.

Finally America collapsed onto the floor and pulled his legs to his toned clothed chest, curling into a ball. America buried his face in his legs starting to cry softly. You may be wondering what could have reduced such a happy nation to tears. Well you might want to sit down for this one.

The conference had gone on just as usual with everyone at each other's throats and no work getting done what so ever. America was sitting in his usual spot and was also eating a burger (his first one in a month actually), but then England had to go and tease him about his weight and diet. He was really trying to eat healthier, but he refused to go skinny for those jerks!

England's teasing prompted some other nations to join in and start teasing him about his debt. This went on for about fifteen minutes until he couldn't take it anymore and he ran out of the meeting room, ignoring the shouts from the other nations as he ran with surprising speed.

Well you know the rest.

So here he was curled up into a ball crying his eyes out like a baby. So unheroic. America promised himself one thing a long time ago; not matter how bad the insults got he would never and I mean never let the other nations see him cry. They weren't worth his tears!

To calm himself down America decided to sing a song that he knew always cheered him up. He started to him a tune and wiped the tears form his eyes as they were starting to make his vision blurry. Then he began to sing

"Like a small boat on the ocean

Sending big waves into motion

Like how a single word

Can make a heart open

I might only have one match,

But I can make an explosion~"

America turned his head to gaze out the glass window, admiring the Turkish countryside that was on the other side. He smiled as the sun beamed through the window illuminating Alfred's already beautiful features. No matter what he said or thought Alfred was one of the most loving and beautiful personifications.

"And all those things I didn't say

Wrecking balls inside my brain

I will scream them loud tonight

Can you hear my voice this time?"

As the lyrics reached Greece's ears he followed the voice until he got to where America was and pressed his ear up against that door. Who did the beautiful voice belong to? Greece wanted to find out back decided to wait until the end of the song so that the voice wouldn't stop singing.

"This is my fight song

Take back my life song

Prove I'm alright song

My power's turned on

Starting right now I'll be strong

I'll play my fight song

And I don't really care if nobody else believes

'Cause I've still got a lot of fight left in me~"

On the other side of the door Alfred had continued to sing unaware of the p rain listening in on the music. Alfred was self conscious about a lot of things especially his body and voice. If he knew someone was listen to him he would just die of embarrassment!

"Losing friends and I'm chasing sleep

Everybody's worried about me

In too deep

Say I'm in too deep (in too deep)

And it's been two years

I miss my home

But there's a fire burning in my bones

Still believe

Yeah, I still believe"

Hercules felt his sleepy heart break a little at the heartbroken and determination mixed tone the song was sang in. Just who was this person and why did they sound familiar?

"And all those things I didn't say

Wrecking balls inside my brain

I will scream them loud tonight

Can you hear my voice this time?"

Alfred went over to the window and pressed his hand to the glass feeling the cold and smooth material beneath his palm. He looked at the world outside and the world looked back as he sighed p. How can a world so beautiful be so cold.

"This is my fight song

Take back my life song

Prove I'm alright song

My power's turned on

Starting right now I'll be strong

I'll play my fight song

And I don't really care if nobody else be believes

'Cause I still got a lot of fight left in me....."

Greece really wanted to know who was on the other side, but he knew patience was a virtue. He has a lot of patience from sleeping all the time.

"....a lot of fight left in me~"

Alfred quieted his tone a little bringing the melody down slightly.

"Like a small boat on the ocean

Sending big waves into motion

Like how a single word

Can make a heart open

I might only have one match,

But I can make an explosion~"

Hercules heard the voice quiet down and thought the singing had stopped until the voice started to sing again this time a little louder.

"This is my fight song

Take back my life song

Prove I'm alright song

My power's turned on

Starting right now I'll be strong

I'll play my fight song

And I don't really care if nobody else believes

'Cause I've still got a lot of fight left in me...."

Alfred felt his eyes drop slightly and yawned while rubbing his eyes with his gloved hand. He didn't get much sleep last night or any night before that, all he had was paperwork and it got tiring after a while, you know? Before America shut his eyes he managed to mumble out,

"....No I've still got a lot of fight left in me~"

Finally Greece couldn't take it anymore and opened the door only to be greeted by a sleeping America leaning against the window, his breath fogging up the glass. That was America singing? Huh.

Ever so carefully Greece walked over to the sleeping nation and sat down next to him. Hercules wrapped his arm around the younger nations waist and nuzzled his neck, feeling himself fall asleep as well.

As Hercules was on the brink of unconsciousness he felt Alfred snuggle into his warm body and smiled, finally falling asleep.
