Don't You Worry 'Bout A Thing/Fem!America
It all started with a piece of paper.
That piece of paper was the sign up sheet for the Yearly Talent Show that the nation's of the world decided to do because why the heck not. Every year Amelia avoided this event for some unknown reason and never showed up to it all together. It baffled more than a few of her friends as they knew how much the blonde loved being in the spotlight so a few eyebrows were raised when America never once signed up for the talent show. This had been a thing for about a few decades and it was time to do something about it.
So this year when talk of the show started Germany decided to add a new rule to the talent show.
"May I have everyone's attention?" Germany shouted over the loud chattering and all conversations stopped so that the world's attention was focused on the mature German nation. "Ahem, it has been decided that this year EVERYONE must participate in the yearly 'talent show'. Don't even try to skip out on it because I have signature agreements from all your bosses." Germany finished his speech by pulling a large file out of his bag and plopped it down on the meeting room table.
Groans echoed through out the large room as many of the countries glared at the large file that undoubtedly contained their bosses written agreements for the show. "No way man! There's no way in hell my boss--" America was cut off by Germany who looked at her with a stern expression but she could clearly see the amusement present in his eyes.
"Yes America your boss did agree to this. So therefore you have to do it." Germany's words made America go pale before she started cussing in some unknown language and began glaring at the big file as well. America had no clue what to do! She had to be in this stupid talent show or else her boss would have her head. Some of the other countries moods were lifted when they heard America had to be in it this year.
"Ha! I know America's talent! It's probably eating food and spending money!" Cuba sneered at the American nation who turned her focus away from the file and towards the Cuban. "Fine! If you assholes want me to be in your dumb show then I'll do it. Germany give me that damn pen" America snapped and snatched the pen out of the European nation's hand before stomping over to the large sign up sheet. America wrote down her name and her talent next to it before crushing the pen and leaving the room but not before she gave Cuba the middle finger.
After America left almost everyone crowded around the sheet while Germany mourned the loss of his third favorite pen. R.I.P. The sheet said the following:
Name: Amelia E. Jones. Talent: Singing
"Huh. I didn't know America could sing..." Hungary commented dumbfounded and noises of agreement followed. "I bet she sounds like a dying cat!" Cuba insulted smirking with his arms crossed over his chest. No one payed him any mind though as they had gone back to talking about the talent show which was declared to be held next week.

The week went by so fast for America that it wasn't even funny and before she knew it, the day of the talent show arrived. It was decided that she would go last right after Spain who was juggling tomatoes or something along those lines.
Turns out Spain can't juggle for crap because all three of the tomatoes he was supposed to be juggling fell on his head one after another. Some of the fruit got on the stage as well so they had to take a brief intermission so that the stage could be cleaned. Amelia took this time to see if she could find some way to escape before everyone laughed at her for her horrible voice. What in the seven hells possessed her to put down singing of all things?!
Maybe because it was the only thing she could think of at the time. She didn't know what to do and spent most of the intermission panicking forgetting about her previous plan to try and find a way to escape the hell that was waiting beyond those curtains. The last five minutes her older brother Canada went backstage to check on her and saw her panicking.
The Canadian crouched down to his little sister's side and patted her on the shoulder causing her look up at him. "Emily listen everything's going to be okay. All you have to do is go up there and sing your heart out, don't you love to sing?" Canada soothed rubbing her shoulders gently which made her started to calm down. "I-I do Mattie! It's just...I've never sang in front of anyone besides you or Aussie." Amelia said as she tried to calm herself down from having another panic attack.
"You'll be fine. Hey tell you what, if you do this than I'll take you to any restaurant of your choice and pay for the bill. What do you say?" America seemed both surprised and happy with that deal as she yelled out her agreement to said deal. No one ever offered to pay when she went out with someone, America guessed it might've have to do with the fact she eats just a little to much. That part wasn't her fault though as she has a high metabolism.
"Great! Intermission should be over soon so be ready." Canada said before getting up and exiting the backstage with a wave of goodbye to the female nation. America waved back and stood up walking towards the door that led to the main stage. America took a deep breath and grasped the handle opening the door and walking up the stairs that also led the main stage.
Amelia saw a single microphone standing at the front of the large stage and strolled nervously up to it and before she could blink the curtains were pulled up and the entire world was watching her every move.
You got this. You got this. You got this.
Amelia repeated in her head before she started to sing.
"Yeah, everybody's got a thing but some don't know how to handle it
Always reaching out in vain
Just taking the things not worth having~ but"
America's voice echoed through the stage and bounced off the walls as she sang not noticing the shocked looks she was getting from her fellow nations. Amelia grabbed the microphone stand and continued to sing.
"Don't you worry 'bout a thing. Don't you worry 'bout a thing, mama~
'Cause I'll be standing on the side when you check it,
Oh~"
Canada smirked at the looks the world besides himself and Australia were giving the America nation who was getting a little more into the singing. So they really did believe she couldn't sing, huh?
"They say your style of life's a drag and that you must go other places
Just don't you feel too bad
When you get fooled by smiling faces."
America took at mic off the stand and started to move with the music as the world watched in wonder and awe. Amelia felt all of her worries melt away and decided to just go with the flow.
"Don't you worry 'bout a thing
Don't you worry 'bout a thing, baby 'cause I'll be standing on the side
When you check it out
When you get it off your trip. Don't you worry 'bout a thing, yeah~
Don't you worry 'bout a thing, yeah~
Come on!"
At this point a few of the countries were clapping along with America's vocals and the beat causing America to smile at the crowd of nations.
"Everybody needs a change
A chance to check out the new
You're the only one who sees
The changes you take yourself through
Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh"
America sang with passion and happiness in her tone like how she would normally speak. The nations who were really shocked were Russia, Cuba and a few other nations America was on some not so friendly terms with.
"Don't you worry 'bout a thing, thing
Don't you worry 'bout a thing, thing
Don't you worry 'bout a thing, thing
Don't you worry 'bout a thing, thing
Pa-pa-p, pa-pa-pa-pa
Pa-pa-pa-pa-pa-pa-pa-pa
Pa-pa-p, pa-pa-pa-pa
Pa-pa-pa-pa-pa-pa-pa-pa"
Amelia did a twirl causing the red, white, and blue dress she was wearing to flow with her. The event was formal but America bent the rules by wearing her favorite bomber jacket. She could faintly hear Poland saying how the dress and jacket went absolutely awful together. America just shrugged her shoulders and continued singing.
"Don't you worry 'bout a thing
Don't you worry 'bout a thing, mama
'Cause I'll be standing on the side
When you check it out
When you get it off your trip
Don't you worry 'bout a thing, yeah
Don't you worry 'bout a thing
Don't you worry 'bout a thing, mama
'Cause I'll be standing on the side
When you check it out
Oh don't you worry 'bout a thing
Don't you worry 'bout a thing, mama
Cause I'll be standing, I'll be standing by you!"
America stopped moving and smiled down at the crowd.
"Oh don't you worry 'bout a thing~"
Applause followed after America finished and cheering could be heard coming from her family and friends. Amelia took a bow and mock curtsied to the crowd. Maybe her vice wasn't so bad after all.

Hey guys! Any thoughts?
