Lances pov

She said yes! She said she would date me! This is the best thing that's ever happened to me!

Time skip 1 day

"Lance please pay attention"allura says, I feel myself straighten up and keep my eyes on allura.

I thought being alluras boyfriend would be the greatest thing in the world but apparently I wasn't what she was looking for in a man.

But its fine! I can just improve don't worry soon I will be someone she can love...or at least maybe talk to. She seems to only....give me suggestions on how to be better.

"Lance, again please pay attention"allura says. I quickly mutter out an apology and focus on her again. After the meeting I try to talk to her and I dunno spend time with her...

She suggested I train for a little since I was behind the others. So I agreed to it.

Time skip 1 month

I'm getting better

She finally actually complimented me.

Keith and hunk have given me their opinion on my changing and staying with allura, but they don't understand how much I adore her.

And with all her helpful suggestions she could finally adore me the same way.

Keith's pov

"Lance you need to work harder, when your in battle this cannot happen."allura yells at lance. Finally I lose it. Poor lance has been changing, trying to be better for allura, taking her 'suggestions' to be a better boyfriend. Suggestions my ass, they are suggestions for a better solder not a human.

"Oh fuck off allura"I say loudly and walk over to a lance whos eyes seem to be in a different world, the bottom of them filling with water. His posture straight, I can't keep watching her tear him down.

I grab lances hand and try to pull him away but his eyes seem to be lost in a whole other world. I lean up to lances ear.

"Come on lance lets go"I whisper, but he doesn't seem to hear me. It's only after pick him up bridal style does he seem to escape the other world. He seemed lighter then he should have been.

I keep walking to his room. Soon I set him on his bed and he looks at me more tears pooled in his eyes and soon they escape along with lances secrets.

"I-I just wanted to be g-good enough for her"he whispers out as more tears spill.

"I wanted her...but she didn't want me"his voice is scratchy. I sat on the bed and put him in my lap. I ran fingers through his hair as I said as many soothing words as I knew.

Time skip a month later

Lance is still hesitant, still scared. I'm trying so hard to get him to open up again, to be himself.

Allura apologised after hunk had to explain to her what she did wrong, she still dosent understand to the full extent I what she did, lance forgave her. But I havent, a lot of us haven't we've split up into diffrent groups.

Mine, which is not forgiving her. Pidge is on my side she gives allura death glares with me and on the occasion we make snappy comments at her. Hunk is also on our side but he's more passive agressive. Like he will 'accidentally' spill something on allura, or make snarky comments under his breath.

There is alluras side, which is Shiro (kuron) for some reason, claiming that it made lance better, and he will protect allura when someone makes a snarky comment.

Then there is lances side, forgiving allura but every once and a while being angry at allura, coran is on lances side.

"Lance for once listen!"allura exclaims. Instantly me, pidge, and hunk are shouting at her. Hunk is holding pidge back, and coran has a firm grip on my arm keeping me from getting at the princess. While me an pidge shout at allura, allura and Shiro are yelling at us.

Finally I feel someone whack the back of my head. I turn around adrenaline thumps through my veins, it only calms down when coran points to lance who is crying in the corner curled up into a ball.

"I hope your proud princess" I spit and walk over to lance. Everyone else is ushered out by coran, it's just me and him now.

"Lance whats wrong"I whisper, stroking his hair.

"Look at this, I'm so pathetic I'm pulling this team apart, I just...I should go"he whispers out.

"No,no lance...no your fine, it's us who have to clean up our act" I try to comfort.

So this is a really bad one shot its just meant show what I think would happen if lance and allura actually got together.

Its nothing against allura it's just allura needs someone whos mature enough for her and lance seems to so malleable that he would change for her.

Allura is a very serious and litteral character she needs someone whos mature and strong.

Lance is a fun character who yes is getting very serious but to meet the standards that I think allura would hold for him would destroy his character in all.

That's just my opinion tho, I don't mean to attack anyone's ship, or offend anyone.
