Lances pov

I walk into my room and slump against a wall, I had just given a speach to another world, slowly we were making our way to different planets to talk to them about alliances for anything that might happen in the future, it's been two years since we destroyed  the galra , I watched everyone in my team die...but they were far from gone.

"Good speach"I familiar voice says, I look up and see the transparent Keith standing in front of me, his arms crossed and a small smile on his face.

"It sounded like every other speach"I laugh out and stand up.

"Yeah well it's a good speach."pidge says appearing in the room now.

"Yes, and forming an alliance is important."allura says from behind me and she makes her way into my field of vision.

"I know...I'm just, tired. I don't know how much longer I want to do this...I want to see my family, I want to relax, I don't want to have to think about this horrid war..."I mutter.

"You can't do that lance and you know it."allura said now, her tone stern.

"Bu-"I start only to be cut off.

"No lance, you are the only one who can see us, and we are the best equipped to do this. We need you so that we can change the world."allure says.

"Yeah well I'm tired of being your telephone, the object that connects you to people, I'm tired of being a fraud taking credit for your work, and I'm tired of being stuck through this shit...I just want to live a life."I say.

"Lance, you need to face it. You have to give up yourself  for others to be free. It takes one sacrifice for millions to live happily. Stop being selfish."pidge says in a darker tone.

"I know...I just wish it didn't have to be this way."I mutter and look at the floor.

"We didn't ask for this either, none of us wanted to die, we had to give up our lives for thousands to be free, and so do you."a new voice comes in, I feel myself shrink at the tone shiro was speaking to me in.

"I know..."I whisper out, this always seemed to happen. Even after they were gone, they still tormented me, after I watch the life drain from their body's I could still hear them put me down.

"None Of us are happy about this arrangement either, if we had to choose someone. To do this it certainly wouldn't have been you."pidge sneered. She could have stopped, I got the message, I can't be free, my chains were still holding me down.

"I know! I just thought after all I had been through I was entitled to a break! Why won't you trust the other people! You don't have to control everything!"I shout at them, they all kept stone cold looks.

"You are weak! You are the worst paladin! You are a jokester,you are a flirt, you are the dumb one, you are the seventh wheel, you are the useless one!"allura shouts at me, I could feel my face grow pale and I backed up slightly.

"I am anything but weak! I-I watched you die...y-you were my family...a-and...and I watched you all die...a-and I'm still living! And I'm still tormented by you! Yet the horrifying sound of my heart beating still remains in my ears! You hold me down like weights! Why won't you just let me be free! Why won't you break your metal grip that holds me down and just let me be happy?!"i shout at my team. They all just give me a cold stare and I stumble back. Towards the door. I grasp the cold handle and open the door slightly.

"I-i have a meeting to get to....allura, I'll see you in 4 minutes."I say and walk out the door slamming it behind me. I walk down the hallway with a fire burning in my chest.

I am so tired of being controlled by these...these assholes, they aren't my family, they are my prison bars. I walk faster and faster till I'm outside. I take in a large gulp as the clean air hits my lungs, I look forward in front of me...a road...a busy road.

If I just ran out no one would know it was suicide, maybe they'll think it was an accident, I wouldn't be tormented by the ghosts of my past... I could be free for the first time in 15 years. I had belief that the new team could do the rest of the task.

Just before I start walking towards the road I hear a voice call me.

I look back to see a worried Keith getting closer to me. I look directly into his worrying eyes and give him a frown. Then I take one step closer to the road, then another till I'm running fast enough for a car to not be able to stop in time. I jump right in front of it and I hear the snapping of bones, the sound like sticks cracking fills my ears, and my heartbeat as well. I try my hardest to get air into my lungs but there was no such luck, I felt a liquid fill any space in them that was left, I coughed out a little to see a blurry splotch of red, I that the outside of my body turned into a numbing ice, while my insides liquidized into lava. My vision was blurry, and even though my heart was pounding loudly in my ears, Keith's scream was the loudest, I couldn't make out the words, but soon I found a blurry figure I front of me, I couldn't do without air any more, my head filled with helium, and started to float away from me, I felt a crushing pain in my head and I close my eyes giving up my attempts to breath...
