Previous Chapter- After a while, Barbra decided she was heading out and it was silent "do you think they can change" I turn to Bruce and pondered before nodding "yes, I mean a good portion of them have been off the radar for a while and the others I think I could get through too" he nodded and was about to reply before an alarm went off on the computer "what is it" Tim spoke first "he struck again"

We all looked around at each other and got ready to head out again after already spending hours with my father going through files. Jason went up to get miss entitled to tell her to meet us at the location. As we make our way there Tim is filling us in on what happened and how the police just discovered it and put the victim's time of death at 2 hours ago. I gripped Dick's waist as we sped through Gotham on his bike "he did all this while we were trying to find his next target..." I watched as buildings passed by at the speed we were going.

Dick was silent "do you think he did this on purpose" he finally decided to answer me "you know him the best Y/N, he may be targeting these people on purpose but I don't believe he's watching us close enough to know we were all busy and not watching his moves" I lean further into his back feeling the wind pass around me "you can't feel guilty about this baby, we were doing everything we could to find him, it happens sometimes".

I nod but still feel deep inside the voice saying 'you should have known what his next move would be' I heard Jason's voice come through on the comms we were all wearing "come on princess lighten up". Tim's voice comes through next "Dick's got a point Y/N, we were doing everything we could but sometimes even we don't hit the timestamp. This puts us another step forward to finding him thought just keep that in mind".

A little smile crawled to my face 'I completely forgot we were wearing comms' "thanks Tim" I heard him chuckle lightly "no problem Y/N". I heard Jason scoff "what about me beautiful" I laughed and shook my head hearing Dick chuckle, "I guess I owe you a thank you as well". I heard Jason mumble some stuff under his breath before letting it go "I love you" I lift my head and looked over Dick's shoulder, he still has his eyes straight on the road. My mouth parts before another smile comes to my face "I would hope so, if not your inviting random girls in on your secret identity and living with you".

I heard him chuckle "I always was a sucker for you" a smirk crawls to my face now "mhm really fly boy?", we couldn't expect Barbara to stay quiet "you offered her to move in with you" I rolled my eyes at her question.

"Why, sad it's not you" I heard Jason snicker "Dick she should have her own place" I felt my eye twitch "and you should mind your business entitled princess, not that you need to know I was going to get my own place but he offered" Bruce finally joined in on our bickering "Barbara stop pestering her, we are approaching the location. The commissioner has cleared us to do a search of our own, by now the officers are starting to clear the area".

Tim comes on after that "since we all headed out so fast I wasn't able to get much background on who the victim is except the TOD and their occupation" We all finally reached our destination and pulled around the back of the building, I pulled off my helmet after Dick got off the bike "She worked at the museum".

I felt Dicks arms go around my waist and pull me off the bike making a small blush arise on my face as I lightly slap his chest "a little warning next time..wait scratch that I can get off a bike fly boy" he just smiles at me "you didn't say it back" I tilt my head thinking about what he's talking about but then laugh when I realize he's talking about his I love you on the drive.

I reach up and rest my hands on his shoulders and feel his arms wrap around me again but pulling me closer and letting his hands wander a little further down reaching my ass. I blush at his contact but roll my eyes anyway "well played Nightwing...I love you too" I press a quick kiss to his lips before pulling away from his grasp seeing a frown growing on his face.

We all go in through a back door we found and see the commissioner waiting. He jumps when Bruce comes in behind him and turns to us all before exchanging details about the case. I look around and wonder who he could target here and for what reason this time, I eventually tune back into the conversation only for it to be silent and Bruce and Commissioner Gorden to be staring at me "yes?".

I turn to see Dick glaring at Barbara "so your V/N" I turn to the Commissioner then to Barbara "you just couldn't keep your mouth shut", I go to step towards her but Dick wraps his arms around me "calm down" I see him turn to Gorden "shes turned around Gorden, she's one of us now and she is going to be the one to reform most of the Arkham inmates" I smile at his statement "..thank you flyboy".

The commissioner looked at me for a little longer then turned to Bruce "can she be trusted?" I turned to Bruce who nodded making me relax "let's get to the case". We all headed toward the scene, Dick still kept a hand on my back which I appreciated. We all stopped outside of a huge dome that seemed to be filled with birds "Did the victim just die here or were they connected to the bird habitat" Gordon looked back at me "they were an expert in animal studies but they mostly favored birds, they ran this specific part of the museum for years". We all step over the yellow tape and split to conduct our own examination.

I stepped around looking around as all the birds flew around, I eventually came across the same symbol that he left at the chemist's house "I found the symbol". Most of them made their way over to where I was standing, "problem is where is the note "got ya covered".

Tim came over with a small sheet that read 'since you always used to talk about a birdie you had' my eyes widen "what does it say Siren" I hand him the note, and he reads through it before looking back at me "Commissioner we got all we need".

We all stepped out and found a part of the museum that wouldn't be overheard by the few cops left in the building "what is wrong, is the note threatening this time around" I turn to Dick while Bruce gives him the note to read for himself. He reads through before turning to me "you told him about me" I shook my head and leaned against whatever I could find in the room we occupied "I never really talked to him but ..I just never talked to him but he probably was listening in on me when I wasn't aware".

Barbara snatches the note out of Dick's hands "please that would be a coincidence this sounds like he knows plenty about you" I shake my head and take the note back from her before handing it to Bruce "are we done for the night" he nods.

I turn and grab Dicks hand and drag him out he goes to speak up but I cut him off "I will explain when we get home but it's something I would rather not discuss with miss entitled around." He stayed quiet for the ride home up until we reached the living room with the door closed "so...you didn't talk to him" I pull his hand again and sit him down on the couch before taking a seat next to him and removing my mask.

"We didn't talk unless we needed to...I kept to myself and had a lab to myself there. I kept my door closed but it's possible he overheard me sometimes..."

I felt him put a hand on my knee so I turn to look at him and smile, I reached up and cupped his face. "I missed you so much and I was so close to coming home so I would remind myself" I removed his mask before continuing "I could come home...to you, my birdie".

I saw a small smile grow on his face "it's sometimes the only thing that kept me going on the path to change...I also lost that too thinking it's been so long that he might not want me. I also had to deal with the fact that my family might reject me because I changed". I was about to go on but he cupped both my cheeks "calm Y/N, you don't have to worry over any of that anymore".

I felt tears start to stray down my face "you are back home with me baby and even a part of your family welcomed you with open arms" I let out a little laugh causing more tears "I love you so much Dick" he chuckled before pulling me out his lap "you really didn't want to say this in front of Barbara" I roll my eyes "I could hear her mouth a mile away".

He chuckled and snuggled into my neck "besides I felt this was something I wanted to revel to you in private, no offense you have a big family fly boy" he looked at me with a small smirk "I have a big family, me" I nodded and shrugged "should probably stop adding".

I felt his hands go to my hips me causing me to straddle him and rest against his chest "I'm going to let that slide" I hum and press a kiss to his jaw. I felt his hands squeeze my hips gently making me lift my head off of him and rest our foreheads together "I love you Dick" he chuckled "I can tell since you spent years wanting to come back for me" I rolled my eyes at him before pressing my lips to his "such a cocky attitude" he hummed into our kiss before responding "you love it" I place my hands on his shoulder pressing against him "I know".

We lean back into our kiss getting comfortable. He ran his hands up and down my back before venturing further down to whatever part of my ass he could touch making me pull away from his lips and get off his lap making him grab my hand "Im sorry I didn't mean-" I shush him and lay him down on the couch before getting on top of him again.

I guide his hand back around my waist before attaching my lips to his again, I felt him go back to gripping my ass causing me to moan into our kiss before we pulled away for air. We both looked at each other "is it right tonight" I smiled and pecked his lips "it's perfect".
