Hello there readers! Please read this informative section before reading this book!

Land of Armonia was written by me as a young teen. I worked on it for years and eventually published it for my senior project when I was 17. However, this doesn't mean the level of writing is that of a 17 year old. I wrote this version of the book when I was 14-16. This is not to dissuade you from reading, I just want to remind you my writing has improved a lot, and this is a reflection of my growth. 

Some things you may want to know:

1. 

My main characters are native american. However, Armonia is a completely fictional place, not our world or even Earth. This means that it is only loosely inspired by those cultures but is not at all an accurate representation of them. My characters may say or do things that are inspired by native culture, particularly Lakota, Cherokee, and Sioux, but they are not of these tribes/nations. 

This means the tribes are fictional as well. Many words the tribes use are completely made up, as are some of their traditions. This was for my own worldbuilding so again, this is NOT a native american story and you should not take what you read here as a true representation (especially to replicate later) The cultures in this story are diverse but completely fictional. 

2. 

Again, I wrote it as a young teen. I'm aware of its flaws. This is to share it and encourage people to buy it, but particularly it's sequel, The Southern Sun, and the final book coming out hopefully late 2025, The Eleven Dragons. 

3. 

It is enemies to lovers!??!?!? I didn't focus much on the romance in this book but there is definitely a lot of sprinkling so you can call it a slow burn. I let this thing COOK. 

4. 

That enemies to lovers is a hetero relationship. There are queer characters in this but because of where I was when writing this, they are more implied than they are said (for this book particularly. In books 2 and 3 I explicitely name them and queer characters are better represented, I was just a scared kid when I wrote this and didn't want people to think poorly of me for having queer characters).

5. 

I LOVE ALL OF YOU FOR READING THIS AND I WILL HOLD YOUR HAND IF YOU NEED ME TO. I know the areas where it is rocky and not great (many have told me that it is very slow in the beginning and that was because I didn't know jack shit about pacing, I just wanted to ease yall into the story) (Book 3 gets so wild. Absolute oposite. It is so fast and jumping from one point to the next it might give you whiplash)

I am introducing you to my characters here for funzies!!!!!! Pls bear with me they are my children.

Herogi (Strong Woman): (depicted on LOA's ORIGINAL COVER from the unrevised version, 2021-2022)

Known as the most egotistical, selfish, prideful nobody from the Cretos, Herogi really does think she's just all that. She wields a small golden hatchet crafted from the heart of the Tri Peaks which crown her home. She's absolutely trash when it comes to using magic, only able to pull off random stunts with "bursts of energy" which she can use in dire situations (and she has no idea how she does it). She prefers her physical strength when it comes to handling situations, and will probably throw a punch before discussing a conflict reasonably. She struggles to understand her own emotions but gets upset when other people don't understand her. She's only seventeen years old, born in the month of the Full Worm Moon (March 15th).

Amante (Kind Lover): (older ref, 2023 design)

The most feared Chaton from the new generation of warriors, Amante earned his fame in the Sky War where his brutality and strength outmatched and terrified all who beheld him. However, most would be surprised to find Amante is actually a gentle, kind, and slightly nervous eighteen-year-old boy who only wishes to keep all tribes at peace. He wields a long drake-jaw tipped spear decorated in dried tendons, beads, and feathers. He is naturally talented when it comes to learning magic, making him a powerful asset to the Chatons and a force to be reckoned with. He often will fidget or play with his extraordinary long hair, and enjoys singing to himself when no one is around. He tends to fall ill easily, and is considered a child of misfortune due to being born in winter, during the Full Snow Moon (February 1st).

Misty (Misted Mountain):

Coming from the trickster tribe, the Sly Vulpes, Misty is a sassy, brutish, carefree girl with far too many secrets. She is a skilled archer, but her true talent lies within her ability to craft illusions through tribal magic. She's quick witted, and can always come up with something to say to anyone in any situation, whether it be to humiliate them or answer their quandaries. She enjoys hunting and gathering but has a secret passion for dancing, becoming most excitable at powwows or even in the Pujik Ballroom! She's young but bursting with talent at sixteen-years-old, born in the Full Worm Moon (March 30th).

Juntul (Small Rabbit):

Surrounded by cannibalistic humans all her life, Juntul is a quiet vegetarian bursting with curiosity but limited by her fear. Supposedly "cursed by a witch," Juntul was forced to live as a rabbit with a human head after she turned eleven. While her people are beyond brutal and morally insane, Juntul is probably the sweetest girl you'd ever meet. Her skill with tribal magic is extraordinary, and her navigation skills even better! She's young and childish, absolutely bursting with energy and joy. She easily trusts people and doesn't find it hard to make friends with people she's never met. This twelve year old gets to celebrate her thirteenth birthday in this novel during the Full Hunter's Moon! (October 11th)

Chang:

Coming from a small village, Chang stands out as one of the few harpies living among the Nojoch as citizens. He is remarkably the second harpy ever to inherit tribal magic, the first being his own mother! Chang's weapon of choice is a silver sword which is issued to all Nojoch warriors. At only twenty-one years old, Chang is already climbing up the ranks to become a general. His unique abilities are useful in combat and survival, and he's especially good at reading people and their intentions. He's the only known harpy to be supposedly male, which is certainly curious. As a harpy, Chang ages much faster than humans, and was born on the Full Buck Moon (July 12th)

Princess April of the Pujik:

The first thing to catch a person off guard when meeting April is her age. She's only eight! The second thing would be her magical talents. April is a giddy young girl with explosive magic, practically bursting at the seams. Sometimes, she can hardly contain it! However, her highness is afflicted with a nameless illness, which is slowly beginning to number her days. With no cure in sight, she wishes to see the word and live out her childhood normally.

Badger:

Princess April is never seen without her most faithful, fatherly caretaker, Badger. Badger is the forty-five year old fat red-headed centaur always bustling about the royal Pujik castle, keeping things in check and acting as the only fatherly figure April has. He would never admit it out loud, but he sees Princess April as his daughter, and would rather lay his life on the line than let anything touch her. He has no wish for fame, he only asks to be given a decent amount of respect.

Black Day:

The rambunctious, careless, gossiping maniac known as Black Day is practically the brute strength of our gang. She's fearless (or just stupid) and bold (stupid). She is easily recognized by her slightly deformed, shrunken right eye which hinders her vision slightly. She's a powerful centaur with incredible speed, but even so, it's likely she would never become the pride of her tribe. She's already thirty-seven years old and considered worthless by most. So, that's why she's willing to defy her tribe without fear of their rejection! Black Day has a sense of humor, and she isn't afraid to use it!

Amora (Divine Gold):

Amora is the powerful council leader of the Cretos, known across the land as being the "best example of a Cretos." Many know her name, and therefore, she receives respect from outsiders.

Amora (Living Sky): 

This is Amante's mother, who shares a name with Amora of the Cretos. She is often harsh with her words but possesses tenderness beneath them. Amante often dreams of her for his own comfort.

Chief Ajawo (Chief Lion):

The Chief of the Cretos is most easily recognized by his iconic albino lion at his side. He is soft spoken but his words can carry quite the heavy punch. He isn't one to get angry very easily.

Kalbak (Sitting Elk):

One of the Chaton's many captains, Kalbak is Amante's father. He's brutish and often violent, but surprisingly smart and rational. He's very prideful, and hates when people defy him.

Another captain of the Chatons, Momo is a foolish, trigger happy man who runs head first into situations before thinking to understand it more. He hates Amante, almost thinking of him like a rival.

Kalem (Two Birds):

Herogi's annoying, mischievous older brother. He's a secret softy and a surprisingly good caretaker, though he does not see himself this way. While Herogi thinks he only dreams of chasing girls, Kalems interests are oriented toward the war and questions of creation. He doesn't trust people easily but he's willing to put that aside if that means getting their help. He's already twenty-one years old, but that doesn't mean he's growing distant from his little sisters!
