I remember being very young when my grandmother scared me into not having sex.

"One day there will be a boy you think you adore with your whole heart, and he'll trick you into doing something stupid."

"That won't ever happen, Nana. I won't be a dumb teenager."

"One day you will be. And once that boy has his way with you, he'll leave you all alone."

"I promise I won't be stupid, Nana."

I remember a dark park when one boy in particular secretly checked his wallet for a condom, just in case things got heated. Her words flashed through my mind, and I was suddenly looking at this boy in a slightly different way.
