[8] Early Mornings Au
Fandomz_Fangirl it's not perfect, but it's fluffy and I hope you like it. Because it was very cute to write. So... yeah!
T.W. Mentions of anxiety and nightmares.
It wasn't uncommon to find Logan up reading a book and watching as the sun began to rise, however, it was slightly uncommon to find him snuggled with one of his husbands. It was even rarer if that husband was Virgil. Though, Logan couldn't find it in him to mind. He liked when Virgil was awake early, it took him back to when they first got together.
Back in high school, it was just Logan and Virgil. They didn't have other friends, they didn't need it. Sure, they'd grown up together and they'd known one another throughout everything, it still shocked most people around them when they announced they had finally started dating (after months of pining).
They'd always been close, meaning, most people were shocked because they thought the two were already together, and somehow, that unsettled Logan more than he'd like to admit. Up until Virgil confessed his feelings, Logan was insistent that he was aromantic or something along those lines. But when Virgil claimed that he held romantic feelings towards him, Logan found he'd fallen for his anxious best friend.
Back then, the two of them would wake up at five in the morning, and go out to watch the sunrise, their hands laced together, and their eyes focused on the changing colours of the sky. More often than not, they'd end up glancing at one another, which turned into long, fond, stares, and usually ended in them sharing fond kisses.
Ever since college, Virgil has stopped waking up as early, and ended up sleeping until noon, his classes usually were in the evening and he stayed up most of the night studying, which meant their entire schedules contradicted one another, and Logan hated not seeing his boyfriend.
The one decent thing that came from their flipped schedules was that they'd both made friends, who happened to be boyfriends, and ended up pushing them into having double dates most weekends, giving them the much needed couple time.
Virgil's sleep schedule never fully returned to what it was in high school, but Logan couldn't find it in him to care. He loved Virgil, so, why did it matter? As long as he got to see his husband at some point in the day, he was content.
Their other two husbands, Patton and Roman has come into the picture much later than either of them would have liked.
Virgil met Roman in Drama in College. They'd instantly clicked, though they did argue a fair bit, but Logan guessed that was just who Roman was, since Logan had his fair few squabbles with him too. And around the same time, Patton met Logan. He'd approached Logan asking for help in their shared Bio class.
Ever since, the four ended up becoming pretty good friends, and Virgil began to trust both Patton and Roman when he slipped into one of his attacks, or curled up around Roman's waist if he'd had a particularly bad nightmare. That should've been the biggest clue of his feelings, but none of them seemed to realise.
It wasn't until near graduation that Patton pulled them aside and they had that really emotional, heart to heart conversation. There may have been a lot of tears involved, but as they pulled through, they realised it was definitely worth it.
Fast forward 8 years, and they'd gotten married. Sure it was a very messy process, but they lived together, they were married, and they couldn't be happier.
Most mornings, Patton and Logan were up together, watching the sun rise, cups of hot beverages in their hands, and a blanket around their shoulders, giving them enough room to move away if wanted. But they didn't. So they stayed pressed against one another's sides and they were happy with that.
Occasionally, Roman would be up, and he'd end up falling asleep on Logan's shoulder. Only when, and only when, Patton woke up and saw the sleepy actor, he would help Logan love him to the sofa, where he would curl up against a pillow and sleep soundly for a few more hours.
However, that particular morning, Virgil needed his logical husbands company and so there they were. Eyes fixated on the rising sun, waiting for the world to wake up.
Virgil glanced over at Logan and smiled weakly as Logan turned to him.
"Are you alright, love?" He brushes a loose strand of Virgil's hair off his face and cupped his cheep. Watching as Virgil blushed. It didn't matter how often Logan performed small acts of affection, or any of their husbands really, Virgil would always turn red under their gaze.
"Yeah, just... trying to make this moment last forever." He murmured, leaning over and resting his forehead against Logan's, his eyes closing.
"That is-"
"Shut up. Don't ruin it, nerd." Virgil huffed, smiling at how literal Logan was.
"May I kiss you?"
"That'd be nice."
Logan moved his hand to Virgil's chin and lifted his head slightly, connecting their lips in a fond sort of kiss that they didn't share often enough.
And that was how Patton found them. Wrapped in a blanket, sharing kisses and fond words of affection, cheeks flushed a pretty red, and neither of them had a clue that Patton was stood there. Well, not until he spoke and make them jump.
"I hope there's enough affection saved for me." He giggled as their cheeks turned a deeper red, and Virgil turned away from them both.
Patton sat next to Virgil, lacing their fingers together and pressing a soft kiss to his forehead.
"Good morning, Patton."
"Morning, darling." Patton reached his free hand over to Logan and they shared a quick moment of affection before agreeing to double team Virgil and make him blush even deeper if possible.
It's started innocent enough, trailing their hands over his cheeks, pressing kisses to his forehead, wrapping their arms around his waist. But soon enough, Patton's lips were on Virgil's, holding him close and running a hand though his hair softly, smiling as he leaned into the touch, with Logan hugging him from behind.
When they parted, Virgil's cheeks were vibrant, and Patton was happy with that. Logan, however, felt he had to kiss Virgil a few more times before he was truly satisfied.
When Roman came out, he just laughed fondly at how easy their youngest husband blushed. He was adorable and Roman loved it.
He moved in front of Virgil and pressed a kiss to his nose, greeting his other husbands pretty much the same way.
Virgil huffed, lacking annoyance, and Roman moved to sit behind Virgil, pulling him into his lap, leaving them in the middle of Patton and Logan.
As they looked over the balcony, they noticed the world waking up more and more, and they were content to be sat there, cuddling as the world woke up.
However, their early morning cuddles soon had to end, Virgil had more classes to attend, Roman had to get to the theatre for his latest show, Logan had work, and Patton had a birthday plan to finalise.
They soon dispersed off the balcony, back into their small bu comfy apartment, small chatter filling the house.
Roman claimed the bathroom, Virgil claimed the bedroom, leaving Logan and Patton in the kitchen, making more coffee and breakfast.
"Lo, what do you think of adopting a child?"
"As preferable as that may be, you know we do not have the space or money for that right now."
"What if that child needed a home, and if they didn't, they'd probably end up living on the streets in a few weeks."
"Then I'd say you'd probably have to develop a foolproof plan, and run it by everyone."
Logan was a pushover for Patton, more than he should be. He was more often than not the voice of logic between them, but with Patton, how could he say no?
Patton grinned and went back to breakfast, humming softly as a pair of arms wrapped around his waist.
"Did I hear you asking to adopt a kid?" Virgil murmured, pressing a kiss to the back of Patton's neck.
"Yep! I have things to plan if you guys don't mind us hopefully getting one?"
"Pat, I'm slowly falling into debt because of all these classes, I'd feel guilty if I couldn't contribute to raising a kid. Not to mention, we've only been married 2 years, and I don't know that I'm ready for that."
"Roman said he was going to help you with that debt, and until you find your feet, you can let Logan and I take care of finances. We agreed when we first got married, than until you e completely finished college and uni, you don't have to contribute to that, because you don't have time for a job."
"I know. I just feel bad, and just so you know, my feet are at the end of my legs, so... I've already found my feet."
Patton slugged softly and turned in his hold, pressing a kiss to Virgil's nose before connecting their lips.
"Your morning has officially been blessed with my wonderful presence." Roman walked in, the same way he did every morning, before pressing a firm but loving kiss to Logan's lips and pulling him into a hug.
"Shut up Roman." Virgil muttered, burying his face in Patton's neck.
"What's got him all huffy?"
"Patton wishes to adopt a child, Virgil does not think now is the most adequate time due to finances and him being in college still."
"A hold would be most wonderous, however I do have similar worries to our dark knight."
"See, I'm not all illogical." Virgil muttered.
"There are things to work out, but for now, you have to get to the theatre, Virgil has class, and I have work, so, to the car."
Logan pushes his husbands to the car, and sure, their mornings weren't perfect, but they were wonderful and none would have it any other way.
