Forty Two
"Thank you guys for working really hard and competing this year. I would also like to thank you guys for not giving up when things got tough." After the tournament ended the long drive from Seoul followed and you were back in Busan. The bus came to a halt in the school parking lot just beside the waiting parents.
"The girls team didn't win.." You frowned as the coach trailed off as she turned her gaze over to you. Lisa gave your hand a gentle squeeze while Eunha nudged you a little as a way to comfort you.
The coach smiled widely before reaching over to grab the large shiny, gold metal cup behind her. "But we still have this..." It was quite heavy so Chenle helped her hold it in the air. The whole team cheered loudly as they both bounced the trophy in the air.
Eunha's phone pinged in the depths of her pocket. She wandered away from her peers and took out her phone.
"Sorry, sweetie. Couldn't pick you up this time around, but your sister should be around soon. Congrats on your teams' win. Love mom and dad." Eunha sighed as she finished reading the message to herself. She laughed bitterly before taking a seat on the bench a few feet away from her.
"Have a great weekend!" The team cheered even louder this time as the coach carried the large trophy inside the school. Lisa ran over to the bus and grabbed her luggage before rushing back over to you.
"I'll see you on Monday." Lisa said before engulfing you in a hug. You laughed happily as you returned the action. She pulled away not long after and made her way over to Eunha and hugged her as well.
Lisa waved as she made her way in to one of the parked cars in the lot. You smiled widely before heading over to grab your suitcase as well. You made your way over to Eunha and took a seat beside her.
"Aren't your parents here yet?" She hummed as she glanced away from her phone. Eunha sighed inaudibly as she placed the phone back in her pockets.
"No. They are probably running late, but it's fine. I'll just wait for my sister at the convenience store around the corner." Eunha bit her lip trying to hold in her tears.
She quickly stood up ready to leave. You grabbed hold of her hand before she could go any further. You didn't want her to wait all by herself.
"Then I'll wait with you." You smiled reassuringly when you felt her hand shake in yours. Eunha felt guilty. You shouldn't have to wait with her after a long trip back. She pulled her hand away from yours as she tried to convince you otherwise.
"What about-" You gasped when a voice spoke from behind you, giving you quite a scare. Taeyong apologised simultaneously before standing beside Eunha.
Her shy smile didn't go unnoticed though.
"It's okay, Y/N." Taeyong said, interlocking his fingers with hers. "You can go ahead. I'll wait with her."
You raised one of your eyebrows suspiciously. "Did I miss something while we were at Seoul?" A sheepish smile formed on your face when you saw them both avoid any form of eye contact with you.
"Come on. You know you can just tell me." You said eagerly hoping they'd just tell you already. I mean it was quite obvious and all but you just wanted them to admit it.
Eunha bit her lip shyly before locking eyes with you.
"Taeyong and I are dating now." You squealed at their confession obviously happy for your best friend. You pulled both of them into a hug. They laughed at your childish behavior.
"I'm so happy for you guys! You make a really great couple."
"Thank you, Y/N." They said simultaneously causing them to look at each other in shock.

Yoongi leaned on the hood of his father's car, his arms folded across his chest as he eagerly looked around for his little brother. A small smile appeared on his face as he spotted him in the cheering crowd.
It tore him apart inside when he found out that Jungkook was not his blood related brother. But that didn't mean he was going to treat him as less than. Jungkook didn't deserve that. Yoongi was so deep in his thoughts that he didn't notice his little brother running excitedly towards him, his suitcase behind him.
"Yoongi! Did you see that big trophy just now? We won it in-" Yoongi snapped out of his trance like state as he looked at the boy in front of him. He turned away trying to cover up the grin on his face.
"In Seoul. Yeah I know. I've been following your matches online. You were really great out there." Jungkook frowned as he eyed his brother suspiciously. When did he ever compliment him, even if he did he would usually keep those thoughts to himself.
"Are you okay, Yoongi? Should I be scared right now or....?" Jungkook placed the back of his palm on Yoongi's forehead. Yoongi sighed before removing the hand. He stood from the hood of the car.
"I'm being serious, Jungkook. I'm really proud of you." Something was definitely off about it and Jungkook knew it. He jumped back when he felt his older brother tousling his hair.
"Okay. Now you're just creeping me out. Just open the trunk please." Jungkook took a few steps back putting some distance in between the two.
"I try to be nice to you for once and this is the thanks that I get?" Yoongi rolled his eyes as he spoke.
"It's a first for me, so you have to understand why I'm fearing for my life right now."
"You know what-whatever." The elder opened the door and pulled up the small lever under the seat opening the trunk. Jungkook dragged his suitcase to the back of the car before tossing it in the open compartment.
"Just go get Y/N so we can go. Our parents wanted to meet us all at Y/N's house. They said they wanted to tell us something."
"What do they want to tell to us?" Jungkook asked innocently.
"Jungkook, if I knew what they were going to tell us I would have told you."
"Sorry for asking." Jungkook said simply before going to look for you. Yoongi sighed lowly as he watched the younger disappear in to the distance.
"That was too much, wasn't it?" Yoongi mumbled as he went back to his previous position on the hood of the car.
~~~
"Hey, Y/N? I've been meaning to ask?" Taeyong asked after a while. You hummed paying attention to the question he was about to ask.
"Yeah sure. Go ahead!"
"What's that? On your neck?" Taeyong asked hesitantly.
"Hmm?" You hummed in confusion as you brushed your fingers across your neck. As soon as you realised what he was talking about you laughed nervously.
"Do you not know what a hickey is?" Eunha smirked as she spoke to Taeyong. Taeyong shook his head as a 'no'. That was when Eunha started explaining this to him and your face couldn't be any more red. You wanted to sneak off before they asked anything else. Soon enough Jungkook ran up from behind you a bit breathless.
"Hey guys!" He said breathlessly before wrapping his arm around your shoulder. You smiled when you looked up at him.
"Hey Jungkook!" Your two friends greeted your boyfriend.
"I can't talk much but I have to take my girlfriend away from you now." He paused for a bit before continuing. "Yoongi's driving and you know how he is." You nodded a little. Yoongi tended to be a little impatient at times but you'd gotten use to it.
Jungkook crouched down in front of you, a signal for you to climb on. You wouldn't get that far on your own anyway because of your injury. Jungkook wrapped his arms under your legs before getting back up.
You turned towards your two friends before leaving.
"Well, since Eunha's taken care then I guess I'll take my leave then. See you guys on Monday!"
~~~
After a few minutes of anxious thinking, Yoongi spotted Jungkook walking back over to the car with you on his back and pulling on the handle of your baggage.
"Well took you long enough." Yoongi grumbled as soon as you reached the car.
"Hello to you too, Yoongi." You smiled nervously at the elder as Jungkook made his way to the trunk, placing your suitcase in as well before closing it up. Yoongi could tell that his little brother had ignored his first statement making him frown a bit.
"Just get in so we can go already." Yoongi opened the car door attempting to get in to the vehicle. What Jungkook said next made him stop midway into entering the car.
"You can go without us if you're going to be so impatient. We'll just walk back home and meet you there." Jungkook made sure to secure you nicely on to his back before proceeding to walk home. You were confused about the whole situation so nonetheless you bid the other goodbye.
"See you, Yoongs!" You shouted out before turning back. Yoongi was taken aback by all this. Why was he being so awkward now? Of course he knew the reason, but he just wanted a different answer.
"Jungkook! Get back here you idiot..." His voice trailed off when he saw that Jungkook had no intention of stopping.

"The kids just got back from Seoul." Your mother sighed softly as she walked hand in hand with Jaesun. They had just come back from the store and we're heading over to your house.
Jaesun smiled as he turned to face the woman beside him. "Yes, I sent Yoongi over to pick them up so they should be at your house in half an hour." Eunsoo chuckled nervously as she turned her gaze towards the gravel road under her. She listened to the crunch of the small stones under her shoes before she spoke.
"That's great. Absolutely...great." Her voice trailed off. Jaesun's eyebrows crashed together when he noticed the nervous tone in her voice. He stopped walking, tugging on her hand making her stop as well.
She turned back wondering why he stopped. Jaesun slowly pulled Eunsoo so she stood right in front of him.
"I know we agreed that we would tell them about our relationship as soon as they got back from Seoul. But if you want to wait a little longer, we can." He said as he tucked the strands of her hair that covered her face behind her ear before cupping her cheek. She shook her head vigorously as she met his gaze.
"No, no. We will tell them when they get here. I just feel nervous, that's all. I mean with all the lies I told my daughter..I don't know how she'll feel in the end." She didn't want to tell them about the relationship, at least not yet anyways, but she knew it would be best to tell everyone now rather than later.
"I'm sure she will understand that her mother fell in love. I mean, we do crazy things for love." Jaesun squeezed her hand a little. Eunsoo smiled as she felt the comfort she felt from just a single hold.
"I guess you're right. Hopefully they will all understand why we had keep it a secret for so long."
"I don't want to lie but, those were the best months I've spent. Soon enough it will be a whole year." He smiled sheepishly.
"You're keeping count?" She teasingly raised her brow watching the smile draw on to his face.
"Why not? I want to remember all our memories together." He said simply before pecking her lips. She cleared her throat trying her best to cover up the smile that was sneaking its way to her lips.
"We should head back now. They must already be on their way back." She walked ahead leaving him behind. Soon enough she felt the warmth of his hand around hers once again.
~~~
"Why did you do that, Jungkook? Yoongi must probably be worried right now." You asked Jungkook after he'd put some distance between him and his brother. He laughed slightly as he adjusted your body on his back.
"Dont worry about it. He'll only be worried for about..." He hummed. "fifteen minutes anyway. We'll just meet up again at your house in a bit anyways."
"Oh, right! Our parents have a confession to make tonight. What do you think it could possibly be?" You placed your head on his shoulder waiting for his response.
"I'm not sure myself, it would be better not to assume anything yet. Not only that..But I have a bad feeling about this."
"A bad feeling?" You eyebrows crashed together in confusion.
"In a way, yes. In a way that could possibly change our lives, you know?" Jungkook stared off as he remembered the all too familiar feeling very well. The same feeling that he felt two weeks ago when you two started dating.
"In what way do you think they will change exactly?"
"It could go either way honestly, but enough about that. We shouldn't worry too much about that." Your boyfriend decided to switch up the coversation just to try to relieve his nervousness. "So how's In-Na doing anyway?"
You smiled as you thought of your golden retriever. "He's grown so big, even bigger than the last time you saw him. And he's still as energetic as ever." Jungkook chuckled at the thought. How long had it been since he's seen the little trouble maker. A couple of months at most.
"Thank you, Jungkook."
He hummed.
"What for?"
"For being with me for basically all our lives, for taking care of me, listening to my whining most of the time." You both laughed for quite some time as you recalled all of the memories the both of you shared. You admired his side profile for as long as you could before clearing your throat. He stopped walking immediately turned to look over his shoulder at you.
Your home was only a few steps away but you were enjoying each other's company to even notice.
"And most importantly, for being my best friend." His doe like eyes sparkled upon smiling brightly before connecting his lips with yours. You were practically melting in his grip. You loved the person before you wholeheartedly.
You pulled away when hearing the laughs moving towards your direction. With the smile drawn on your face you looked up in front of you. The smile fell just as quickly.
"Mom?" You whimpered lowly but loud enough for the couple in front of you to hear. Jungkook hummed in confusion when he saw you looking at something on front of the both of you.
His smile fell too, his heart stopping when he saw both your parents hands interlocked with one another.
"Y/N.." Your mom looked shaken up, as if she'd just seen a ghost appear before her very eyes. This wasn't how it was supposed to happen at all. You hopped off Jungkook's back landing hard on your swollen ankle. You hissed as the pain you knew all so well shot up through your leg.
"Be careful." Jungkook scolded, but that wasn't what was important right now.
Was you mom in a relationship with your boyfriend's dad?
