"Let's break up."

~~~
The room was filled with an awkward silence, right from the very moment the four of you entered the house. You sat quietly by the dining table and stared blanky at the wall in front of you. Jungkook on the other hand sat with his arms folded across his chest. His piecing gaze directed towards his father.
The silence was deafening. Why wouldn't it be quiet? No one knew what to say, better yet, no one knew how to approach the situation.
After a few more minutes of pondering your mother stood up from her seat and headed to the kitchen to brew some tea. She knew all too well that you had feelings for Jungkook, so why did she go ahead and date his father behind your back? Even though you were hurting inside you couldn't forget the face your mother had on as she walking back to the house.
A tear threatened to fall.
Your thoughts were interrupted when your mother gently placed a cup of tea in front of you. She finally took a seat after setting all the cups down. Your mother brought her teacup to her lips and took a short sip from it.
She laughed lowly trying to ease the tension between the two couples.
"So.." Your mother took it upon herself to break the silence. "how was the tournament? I heard you brought home a big trophy-"
"Mom, stop." You said, annoyed at your mother's attempt at conversation. Swallowing the lump in your throat, you sat up straight and locked eyes with the woman.
"Did you want to tell us that you were dating each other now?" Your voice was shaky. Your mother's face fell as she lowered the cup on to the table. Honestly you could've burst in to tears right then and there but you forced yourself to hold them in.
"Well, we wanted to wait until Yoongi got back to tell you but since you already know..surprise." Jungkook's father decided to speak up diverting all of our intention on to him.
Jungkook scoffed as he felt his hands slowly clenching in to fists.
"Dad, how could you do this to me? You knew that I wanted to ask Y/N to be my girlfriend since I was a little kid." Jaesun felt guilty. He knew his son was hurting so he didn't mind his outburst.
"Jungkook," He tried to speak up but his voice quivered. "I'm sorry you had to find out about our relationship the way you did."
"Really, dad? Sorry isn't going to fix anything now, will it?" Jungkook spat back. You wanted desperately to tell your boyfriend to calm down but you felt numb. The room fell silent once more after that.
Yoongi entered the house. He casually walked over to the dining table where you all were. "Sorry I'm late. I had to refill the gas tank." The tension he felt in the air was really thick. No one batted an eye upon his arrival.
'What happened here?' He thought as he took a seat between you and your parents at the end of the table. He stared back and forth before speaking up.
"Is everything okay here?" Yoongi asked when he saw Jungkook shooting daggers towards his father.
"Both our parents are in a relationship." Jungkook spoke with venom laced in his voice. Yoongi's eyes widened. No wonder everyone looks so unhappy. His eyes shifted back and forth between the two couples wondering who would utter the next word.
The sound of the chair dragging backwards across the floor drew everyone's attention. Jaesun cleared his throat as he adjusted his coat.
"I think we should go home. We'll talk everything through in the morning-" Jungkook interrupted standing up as well matching his eye level.
"Why? So you can come up with some unbelievable excuse?" Jungkook said in one breath.
"Jungkook, stop!" Yoongi shouted as he stood up. He couldn't stand his little brother yelling at his father like that. "That's enough!"
Jungkook scoffed as he turned to face his older brother. "Why are you defending him, Yoongi? Did you know about this?"
"What are you implying, Jungkook? I had no idea about this. Same as you." The room fell silent once more. Your mother turned over in your direction worriedly. You hadn't touched your tea and you were being awfully quiet. She reached out to hold your hand.
"Y/N, are you doing okay? You've been quiet for some time no-" You didn't let her finish when you stormed out of the house. The tears you had barely managed to keep in started spilling from your eyes. You took a seat on one of the porch stairs and buried your face in your knees and cried even more.
Jungkook's father decided to call it a night and head back home. He looked at your mother as if for the last time before walking out. He had a lot of thoughts going on in his head but he couldn't figure out what to say at the moment.
Jaesun stopped beside you on the way to the car. He listened to your crying before continuing his walk.
Yoongi's face fell as he followed him out the door. He rubbed your shoulder for a short moment before rushing to his father's side.
"Dad..." He said hesitantly. Yoongi knew that whatever he would say next would spell out trouble but he had to say something. He hadn't known this for very long but it kept eating away at him.
Jaesun sighed as he ruffled his hair in frustration. "What is it Yoongi? Do you want to lecture me too?"
He laughed slightly. "I think Jungkook already did enough of that, but I wanted to talk about something else." Jaesun turned his full attention to what his son was about to say. Yoongi cleared his throat, gathering what little courage he had.
"I know that Jungkook's adopted." Jaesun eyes widened. He looked around checking if Jungkook was close by before gripping Yoongi's shoulders in panic.
He stared intensely into this sons' eyes.
"How did you find out about that? Were you going through my things-" Yoongi scoffed. He released himself before giving his father a disappointed look.
"Dad! That's not the big problem here. The problem is that you kept this a secret from us for all our lives." Jaesun's face softened. He was losing his sons all in one night. Was the universe punishing him for falling in love?
"Listen Yoongi. I didn't mean to keep it a secret from you boys-"
"But you did." He laughed sarcastically. "Did you even think about telling us? Telling Jungkook? Or were you planning on keeping it to yourself forever?" Jaesun directed his gaze towards the ground unknowingly giving Yoongi the answer he didn't want to hear. Yoongi turned to open the car door.
"Yoongi, I-" He couldn't say anything as his son slammed the door shut leaving him outside.
Jungkook sat beside you on one of the porch stairs tenderly embracing you in his arms. He ran his fingers through your hair which helped calm you down.
"I wanna tell you that everything will be fine but...i don't know about that right now." Jungkook whispered into your hair. He didn't want you to see him cry but that didn't stop the tears. You pulled away from him and wiped your wet cheeks with the sleeve of your shirt.
You turned to look at Jungkook. You were afraid more than anything.
"I want to be angry at my mom, Jungkook. I really do. I kept on thinking about the moment we saw them together. Do you know what I saw?" Jungkook shook his head. He wrapped an arm around your shoulder and pulled you closer to him. He wanted you close.
"I saw the biggest smile on her face, Jungkook, and I'm happy for her. I'm happy that she has found someone who loves her,  but what could it mean for us? For all of us?" You paused. "Does that mean we have to break up?" You asked hesitantly.
"Don't ask that."
"I'll talk to my father and we can figure this out, okay."  He placed a soft kiss on the crown of your head. "I'm not losing you. Not now...Not ever."
Your mother walked away from the door frame, the guilt eating away at her.
The man was furiously typing away on his computer. He had a proposal to submit early next morning but he had been spacing out a lot during day after watching a basketball game.
His assistant quietly packed her things deciding to retire from her work for the night. She took a glance through the glass walls across from her. She chuckled slightly before heading to his office. She knocked on the door making the man look away from his work for only a second.
"Mr Jeon, you should go home. It's late." She said stopping in front of his desk.
"I can't leave just yet. I have to finish writing and editing this proposal by tonight."
"Ok then, sir." She hung her head disappointed by his reply. He stopped typing, turned to her and gave her a warm smile.
"Don't worry. I'll be home in time for dinner." She laughed softly.
"I'm holding you up to that." He smiled as he watched her walk out through the door.
