Marinette's eyes, or rather Ladybug, shot wide open, she sat straight up and started panting as if she'd run a marathon. She looked around, it looked like Chat Noir wasn't near her which made her heart sank. Ladybug picked up her yo-yo that had fixed itself once her akuma was destroyed. She looked around once more time.

She was in a dark and narrow hallway that seemed eternal. Ladybug looked behind her shoulder only to find a wall, she sighed, made up her mind and continued going. The hallway seemed to go on and on until she arrived to what looked a circular room, very different from Hawkmoth's layer.

"Hello?" She asked, her voice bouncing off the walls, coming back as an echo. She swallowed and started again. "Hello? Chat Noir? Is anybody there?"

"You're pathetic." A voice said making her turn around and face Marinette but it wasn't Marinette. This Marinette let her hair down, which Ladybug always hated, and wore designer clothes. She was still with Adrien, holding his hand but he seemed depressed like this wasn't the girl he loved. Behind her, Chloe and Sabrina smiled at her, wrapped an arm around her and took selfies together. Alya and Nino around the corner. "I can't believe I was like that at one time."

Ladybug blinked. "How-those-those clothes?"

Marinette looked down at her outfit and scoffed. "Oh,  yeah, only seven thousand euros, too cheap. After I realized being Ladybug was just a waste of my time, I sole the miraculous to Hawkmoth and he, as Gabriel Agreste, rewarded me with his son's hand in marriage and a lot of money!"

Ladybug swallowed. "Adrien isn't happy with someone like you. What happened to me? Why would I sell the miraculous?"

"Because we both know we aren't capable of reaching such power." Marinette said, observing her nails then whipped her hair backwards and, with Adrien at her heels like a servant, made her way into the school. What Ladybug saw horrified her. Marinette acted like she was Chloe's best friend, not Sabrina. She bothered Alya more than anybody as in throwing her food at her. She would make Nino trip over things and would use Adrien's homework, changing her name, and use it as her's, kissing him for a reward which didn't even seem like a reward for him.

Her parents were divorced, Master Fu was dead and Paris belonged to Hawkmoth who had both of the miraculous and used them to blind Isabella and Adrien over his mistakes. Now, the Agreste family wasn't broken-it was corrupt. 

"This isn't going to happen." Ladybug said to the air which came back as a hysterical laugh. "Whatever your planning Hawkmoth won't happen."

Hawkmoth appeared from the distance and snapped his fingers. The vision of that horrifying Marinette disappeared and Ladybug allowed herself to breathe. Hawkmoth slapped his hands together and in came a yell, Chat Noir landing next to her. She cried in relief and knelt next to him, wrapping her arms around him to lift him up, then search for injuries. When she realized not a finger had laid on him, her attention fixed back to Hawkmoth who looked like he was about to eat some popcorn along with their show.

"What do you want?" Ladybug cried at him. 

"I want my family back again." Hawkmoth replied through gritted teeth.

Chat Noir stepped in front of Ladybug. "It was you who lost it in the first place. I'm not coming back to you and neither is my mom. Not after what you did to her." His face turned pale. "The knife...the blood. Did you really kill her?"

Hawkmoth laughed. "Did you honestly think I would kill the woman I love? That blood belonged to t he gorilla, he's dead-protecting your mother, so ridiculous. I'm here to fight you two for the miraculous. I figured out it was the easy way to just take your miraculous while you woke up. Would it get any easier? I want it the hard way. You're going to fight me."

"I've done it before." Ladybug snapped. "I won."

"Yes, but with a load amount of power you got from me." Hawkmoth roared back. "Now let's face Hawkmoth how he truly is."

He smashed his hands together and everything went back followed up by more earthquakes.

Chat Noir awoke, thankfully, with Ladybug next to him. He shook awake, her blue-bell eyes that would light his heart opening towards the world. With his hand offer, she took it and stood up, looking around. Chat Noir realized they were in a maze which scared him much more, not for him, he wanted Hawkmoth dead more than anything, but he worried about Ladybug. If she got hurt, he could never forgive himself. 

Ladybug inhaled deeply and his hand slipped into her's. She looked at him, those eyes petrifying him like a snake's venom. 

He offered her a smile. "Let's do this for a mega pound it."

She laughed. "A kiss wouldn't be too bad."

Chat Noir pulled her close and kissed her, a little brush of lips but enough for electricity and heat to form inside them. He pulled away and stared into her hands, not letting go as he smiled back at her. "I can kiss you anytime I want, that's the good thing of having you as my partner." He took in a shaky breathe. "Look, Ladybug, Marinette, whoever you want to be right now, I love you. If we don't come back together or-or something happens to one of us, I want to die knowing I said it. I love you."

Ladybug's eyes softened as she kissed him again. "I love you too. Don't worry, nothing will happen to us. Not as long as we have each other."

Holding hands, they walked towards the pitch darkness. 

At first, Ladybug was scared she could see nothing, but when lights slowly flickered to not flickering at all, she realized they were able to see. The walls in the maze were made out of old stone like it was a castle. The floor was made of stone, enough for a deep cut to form if you fell. Her heart was beating fiercely, not sure if it was because of the anxiety she held deep, or just because Chat Noir was next to her. She wanted to blame it on him, repeating in her head over and over again it was his snarky smile that would cause her heart to leap, but even she knew lying to herself wouldn't work.

For a moment, the two kept going for the maze with no threat like this was going to be too easy, but as they stepped into a bigger part of the maze, they heard a sickening smile and turned around to face...

Them.

Only not them.

It was the same Marinette from the last vision only with her mace/yo-yo with her spikes flashing with the light the maze allowed to fall on them. That Marinette looked scary, vengeful and not afraid to spill blood. It was Adrien that concerned Ladybug. He looked very tired like he hadn't even been taught how to sleep, his hair wasn't blonde but white and his eyes weren't green, they were grey. That awfully seemed similar to Gabriel and Ladybug wanted nothing but to wrap her arms around him and kiss the pain and worry away.

Marinette attacked first and both were forced to separate from each other. Her mace fell on the place where the two super heroes had held hands and she looked for Ladybug, Adrien looking for Chat Noir. As much as she wanted to fight with him, she needed to take down Marinette-her own fear-by herself just like Chat Noir would do his. 

She threw her yo-yo to wrap around the wrist of Marinette and Ladybug pulled, making Marinette to fall to the ground, dropping her threatening weapon. As Ladybug let go of the yo-yo to grab the mace so she didn't feel threatened anymore, Marinette stood up and kicked Ladybug's legs making her fall to the floor, her body inches away from those sharp needles. 

Ladybug let go of her yo-yo and kicked Marinette in the stomach. Despite the immense force Ladybug put into that kick, Marinette didn't seem offended as he jerked Ladybug's leg away making her fall strangely back down to the ground as Marinette put her foot on top of Ladybug's stomach. "I win."

"Doubt it." Ladybug replied, grabbed Marinette's ankle and twisted it was much as she would with as much force as she possibly could. Marinette screamed, a scream that was identical as hers as Ladybug grabbed her yo-yo and wrapped Marinette's whole body with it, pulling her to the ground. Marinette struggled to get free, but even Ladybug should've known right there she had lost. 

"Adrikins!" Marinette called for help and suddenly Adrien was beside her, Chat Noir cursing in the distance. He kicked Ladybug so hard, she stumbled into a wall, short little rocks falling on top of her, bruising her shoulder and neck, but thankfully not her head. Ladybug realized she hadn't let go of the yo-yo. She moved closer to Adrien so the string was inches away form his legs and she pulled in a way the infinite string would make Adrien fall.

Her plan worked, but he stood up faster than she expected. He threw punches at her but Ladybug dodged them easily as from the corner of her eyes, she saw Marinette untangle herself from the yo-yo, picking up her mace as Chat Noir started to battle her with her stick. Ladybug's yo-yo was left int he middle of the fight, lack of practicing reaching onto her, her muscles starting to scream.

Adrien dodged one of her punches, grabbed her shoulder and punched her stomach countless of times there was one point where she felt it burned. She kicked him away with force, but his punches did leave a mark on her, slowing her movements, but they were still deadly. Adrien finally took out his weapon revealing a long, slim and silver blade, similar to the one Hawkmoth hid in his cane. 

Ladybug picked her yo-yo quickly but it was nothing compared to Adrien's blade. She sighed, looked around and realized how good Chat Noir was doing in battle. Marinette was on the floor, his stick right above her as if he was hesitating in hitting her. Although the thought of not wanting to hit something that looked like her was sweet, Ladybug wanted to kill that bitch.

"LUCKY CHARM!" Ladybug yelled into the air, her yo-yo pulling out Volpina's flute. For a fraction of a second, Ladybug stood there to think countless way she could use her lucky charm, but the one that mostly made sense to her was the following:

She put the flute to her lips and played a simple melody, Adrien getting ready to attack as the image of the same Marinette Chat Noir was battling came to life. She ran towards Chat Noir and defeated Marinette, grabbed her mace with a quick wave over her shoulder, smacked the mace into the ground, revealing tiny pits of stone flying towards them and a wave of dust coming to protect them as mist. 

Ladybug found Chat Noir, grabbing his hand and then grabbed illusion Marinette as vision Marinette was tightly under Chat Noir's grip, his hand on her mouth as both sneaked into the shadow. Once the mist of dust ceased, Adrien was in the middle of it, looking around for Marinette's cries. 

His eyes moved to lock Ladybug with Marinette's mace 'stab' it into the illusion. He cried out loud as Marinette collapsed to the floor, blood sliding down her wound and a trickle of it coming from her mouth. He knelt beside the illusion, tears starting to rise to his face as Ladybug grabbed her yo-yo and passed it through Adrien's head, knocking him out unconscious. Chat Noir appeared from out of the shadows, Marinette still tight in his grip as Ladybug knocked that Marinette out too.

Ladybug huffed. "We need to work more often." 

Chat Noir laughed and wrapped an arm around her, kissing her right temple. "Now you don't have to worry in changing back."

Ladybug rolled her eyes, from behind her shoulder and Chat's arm looked back at the two visions unconscious. She hoped they stayed that way for a long time as the two of them walked deeper into the maze.

"We're done with your games, Hawkmoth!" Chat Noir yelled out into the air as Ladybug used her lucky charm to defeat another threat Hawkmoth placed ahead of him. Hawkmoth laughed in the distance as he smashed his hands. In an instinct, Chat Noir pulled Ladybug closer to him, both their weapons drawn out, threatening to destroy anyone that touched them. 

From the shadows, Hawkmoth finally appeared but at his side, he had an akumatized victim. Natalie. She looked so different than what Chat Noir imagined she would look like.  Her blue hair was let lose, curls falling gracefully on her sides and her red streak only came on the right side. She didn't have glasses, instead, only a ombre red and blue mask. Her suit had the symbol of a blade and it was similar to Ladybug, with a red and blue cape falling from her back. 

"This is Bug Cat-cher, the last villain I will have to akumatize." Hawkmoth said slowly, laughing as his face remained expressionless. Natalie created wind with a swing of her arm making the ground break, was that perhaps her power? Chat Noir didn't realize it was just below them, a crack threatening them to fall. Ladybug tried to move but Natalie held the walls to force them to stay into place.   

"Give me your miraculous if you value your life." Hawkmoth said, extending out his hands as if he thought they were thick enough to hand them into his hands. 

"I rather die then hand it to you." Ladybug said, Chat Noir backing her up as the ground continued to break, whatever darkness was below the floor starting to show. "You can gladly pick the earrings from my dead body."

"What a shame." Hawkmoth said, not meeting neither of their eyes. "Do it, my little Bug Cat-cher."

Natalie nodded and snapped her fingers, the ground breaking below them. 

Ladybug acted quickly and threw her yo-yo to wrap around a fragment of strong stone at the edge. As they fell, Ladybug held tightly to her yo-yo and her other hand moved to grab Chat Noir's. For a moment, both of their hands interlaced, holding onto each other like it was the end of the world, but she was already injured of some battles and her back and neck protested. 

She cried out loud with the sudden sensation of her muscles burning and screaming for her to stop using them. She wouldn't let go of Chat Noir, wouldn't let go of Adrien until the world forced them apart. 

"Let me go," Chat Noir said, struggling to put as least weight as possible into her. "You can't pull me up."

Ladybug choked back a sob. "I will never let go of you. I don't want us to end like Titanic."

He laughed. "You always cry in that movie don't you?"

"I'm not letting go." Ladybug said, tears sliding down her cheeks as her grip on Chat Noir's increased. "I'm not going to let you go."

Chat Noir locked eyes with her, they were calm and reassuring like never before. Like falling would mean nothing to him as long as he could see her face as the last face he saw. With enough strength Chat Noir lifted his body to kiss her hand quickly. If it wasn't for that damn glove, his lips would've reached her skin, she could've reacted to his lips on her skin one last time.

"I told you I loved you." Chat Noir said silently and softly. "I mean it. I will always mean it."

"Chat," Ladybug said, her voice quivering and breaking because of her sobs. 

"Let me go, or else, we'll both fall." He advised her, his mind already set.

"No, Chat, don't let go!" Ladybug cried as Chat Noir shook his head mouthed, 'I love you' and jerked his wrist away from her, his silhouette fading into the inner darkness, the presence already crushing her Ladybug forgot how to breathe. "ADRIEN!"
