July 5 - Going Out Together
"Remind me why I'm doing this?" Ladybug asked, pinching her skirt.
"Because you love me and this is what couples do." Chat reminded helpfully, adjusting his tie.
"But these spots clash with the dress. And who wears a spotted long sleeve - that ends as a pair of gloves - under a dress?" Ladybug whined.
"Ladybug does. When she wants to go out on a date." Chat said, turning in the mirror.
"Yes, but what if Ladybug's BF is the one forcing her into it?"
"She wants to please me so she wants to do it." Chat concluded, reaching over to fix Ladybug's dress over her drooping frame.
"If it makes you feel better, you can wear this." Chat said, holding out two white satin gloves.
Ladybug snatched them away. "Yes, it does." She rolled the gloves over her lean arms, satisfied.
"You're soo preeeetttyyyyy..." Chat said, leaning down to peek at Ladybug's sullen face.
"Stop." She said.
"Ladybugggg is sooooo preeeetttttyyyyy..." Chat said again.
"Stop." Ladybug said, a smile fighting it's way to the surface.
"My Ladyyyyyyyy is sooooo gorgeoooouuuusss..." Ladybug finally let out a giggle.
"She laughs!" Chat said triumphantly, pumping a fist in the air.
"Let's just go." Ladybug smiled, tugging Chat's hand.
Letting Ladybug lead, Chat rubbing reassuring circles on his dearest's back. Ladybug ordered something long and complicated, and Chat couldn't recall what he had ordered if you offered to murder every possible candidate of Ladybug's heart (aside from, of course, Chat or Adrien himself). About halfway into the meal, an older woman, from the table next to them, leaned over. "Are you two those superheroes?" She asked, pointing a finger, but not unkindly.
"No, actually. My husband and I absolutely love to cosplay. We thought we'd get in a little more before the twins arrive." Ladybug gushed, patting her flat stomach.
"Oh, how sweet. I must say, though, you two are the spitting image of them! And so youthful for parents." The woman said.
"Oh well, teen pregnancy, does that to you." Ladybug laughed.
The woman's shoulders dropped and her chin quivered before a rather angry look crossed her face and she turned around. "LB...?" Chat asked, raising an eyebrow.
"She has a notepad under the table, a recorder in her bag. She's a reporter." Ladybug said.
"But she knows we're them... Us? Chat Noir and Ladybug?"
"Nope. She scribbled out everything on the pad and has a glass of champagne in front of her. Worse case, just say she was drunk and misheard yes for no, husband equals partner, cosplay means wear the suits, and twins are the Akumas." ladybug shrugged.
"And teen pregnancy, not that I mind it, if it's us, what will you say to that?" Chat challenged.
"She said we look quite worn down and I replied with, well, crime-fighting does that to you." Ladybug concluded.
"When the press doesn't believe us?"
"Believe us - the people who are constantly saving Paris - or that drunk woman? Which do you think they're going to choose?" Ladybug asked, rolling her eyes.
"You're so smart." Chat said, kissing Ladybug.
After that, the heroine became flustered. "You're such a stupid cat." She hid a smile, rolling her eyes again.
Chat gasped. "Don't let the kids hear, honey! They'll think I'm stupid!"
"If they take after you, they'll be too stupid to process it. If they take after me, they already know it's true." Ladybug teased.
"So we are having kids."
