9: Outing

As you finished up the cheesecake in your room-- who said you couldn't have dessert for breakfast?-- You heard a knock at your door.

"It must be him, Beast." You mentioned as you placed the plate on your side table.

"Be good, my Prin-ssss-e." They reminded you.

"I'll give it my best shot." As you opened your door, you plastered a large smile on your face. "Hello!"

"Hello. My, you look spectacular, Prince YN." He bowed as you each took in the sight of each other. He loved your dress-- it was a classic type of look, with the exception of the amount of thigh you were showing. And you appreciated his look. He had a plain sweater on over both a button up and a tie. He had plain black slacks on as well.

"Thank you," You held out your hand, which he promptly took and gently kissed. "So, what is the plan for the afternoon?"

"Well... I don't really know you very well. Not as well as I'd like to. So, I thought perhaps we could do something that allows us time to get to know each other." He faced you properly and then turned to the side. "After all, I will be protecting your family for the duration of the trip."

"My, my, my. Unsure about whether to pursue me or protect me. So where to?" You reached toward the arm he offered. He held it close to him and proceeded to lead you to where this 'date' would take place.

"The ocean. Tell me, do you know how to swim?" He inquired.

"Swim? I can, however I'm not dressed appropriately for such an excursion."

"No, I should think not. But if you were to fall off the rowboat I have requested, then I could know whether to save you immediately."

"A rowboat, hmm? Seems appealing. Good choice."

"I've provided snacks as well as refreshments. Those, however, can remain a mystery. From your file, I do know that you have no known food allergies." He mentioned as he opened the door to your expansive backyard.

"Really? So, what else do you know about me? I shouldn't like to repeat myself to you." The sun lightly kissed your skin; it was cool by the ocean, but you weren't cold. In fact, you almost wished you had brought a parasol.

Kurapika stayed quiet for a few minutes, debating on how much to let you know. He weighed your personality with the situation and considered the future as well. By the time he decided whether or not he would reveal what he knew about you, you had arrived at the boat.

"Very well. Let me assist you into the boat." He stepped into the boat and then offered you his hand.

"Alright, then you must tell me what you know." You laughed and stepped into the wobbly boat, quickly moving to sit down. "I heard you were quite adept at understanding nonverbal cues. You are interesting to me."

At this, Kurapika grinned slightly. As he untied the boat and grabbed the oars, he got in a comfortable position facing you. And then he spoke.
